Abstract

This study aims to determine: Is the increase in learning independence of students who get problem-based learning better than students who get conventional learning. This study is a semi-experimental study with the study population as all grade X students of SMK Ar-Rahman Medan. Sample selection is done by cluster random sampling technique, samples are taken randomly and 2 classes are selected from 6 existing classes. The instrument used was a scale of learning independence. The instrument was stated to have fulfilled the content validity requirements with the reliability coefficient of the learning independence scale of 0.53. Data in this study were analyzed using nonparametric statistical analysis. Statistical analysis of the data was performed with the Mann-Whitney test analysis. The results showed that: (1) Increased learning independence of students who obtained problem-based learning was higher than students who obtained conventional learning; (2) There is a significant difference between increasing the learning independence of students who get problem based learning and students who get conventional learning;Based on the results of this study, researchers suggest that problem-based learning in vocational students can be an alternative for teachers to improve student learning independence, especially in the material system of linear equations. Keywords: Problem Based Learning Approach and Student Learning Independence

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui : Apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa melalui pembelajaran kooperatif dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen(eksperimen semu). Populasi penelitian ini siswa SMPN 1 Takengon dan sampel diambil secara acak dengan teknik Cluster random sampling, terpilih 2 kelas yang akan dijadikan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan komunikasi. Analisis statistik data dilakukan dengan analisis uji-t.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa melalui pembelajaran kooperatif dengan pembelajaran konvensional.Kata kunci : Komunikasi Matematika, Kooperatif, Konvensional

Abstract

This study aims to find out: whether an increase in understanding of mathematical concepts students who learn using contextual approaches is better than students who get conventional learning. This research is a quasi-experimental study. The population of this study was seventh grade students of junior high school. Sample selection is done by cluster random sampling technique. The instrument used is concept understanding tests. The instrument was stated to have fulfilled the requirements for content validity, and the reliability coefficient was 0.77. The data in this study were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and parametric statistical analysis. Statistical analysis was carried out by analysis of covariance (ANACOVA). The findings of this study are that there is an increase in the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who use contextual learning better than students who use conventional learning. From the results of the study it is suggested: (1) Learning with a contextual approach is one alternative for mathematics teachers in presenting mathematics subject matter (2) to other researchers who can continue their research on other subjects and mathematical abilities using a contextual approach

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to find out the problems that occur during online learning both in using strategies or methods in the classroom that are used between new lecturers and old lecturers, besides the purpose of this research is to review the most appropriate ways in planning strategies in management. class. To answer this goal, the researcher used qualitative methods and class observations and interviews which were used as instruments in this study. The results of this study indicate that online learning in classroom management requires a set of strategies, namely knowing how to communicate well with students and having an effective class management program in managing online classes. The results of this study can be useful for lecturers, especially new lecturers in managing online classes in order to increase learning opportunities for all students. Keywords: class; management; online AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui masalah-masalah yang terjadi selama pembelajaran online baik dalam menggunakan strategi atau metode dalam kelas yang digunakan antara dosen baru dan dosen lama, selain itu tujuan penelitian ini untuk meninjau cara-cara  yang paling tepat dalam merencanakan strategi dalam manajemen kelas. Untuk menjawab tujuan ini peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif dan observasi kelas serta wawancara yang digunakan sebagai instrument dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada pembelajaran online dalam memanajemen kelas diperlukan seperangkat strategi yakni mengetahui cara berkomunikasi yang baik dengan mahasiswa dan memiliki program manajemen kelas yang efektif dalam mengelola kelas online. Hasil penelitian ini dapat bermanfaat bagi dosen khususnya dosen baru dalam mengelola kelas online agar meningkatkan kesempatan belajar bagi semua peserta didik. Kata kunci: kelas; manajemen; online

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of using problem-based learning methodology in the domain of mathematics education. This research falls into the Pre-Experimental Design category, which specifically utilizes one experimental group without a control group. This research consisted of a group of 25 class VIII students at SMP Darma Medan. This research specifically examines three of the four elements used to assess learning effectiveness. Variables that are considered in this context include educational goals, activities and obligations carried out by students, as well as responses and comments given by students. The instruments used consist of academic achievement assessments, monitoring sheets to observe student engagement, and surveys to assess student feedback. Descriptive analysis shows that the mathematics learning outcomes achieved are relatively high with an average score of 82.48. Regarding the evaluation of learning outcomes (1) 5 students (20%) did not meet the criteria, while 20 students (80%) achieved individual proficiency benchmarks. Thus, it can be concluded that students' mathematics learning outcomes after implementing problem-based learning strategies meet the requirements for achieving comprehensive classical learning goals. (2) The average level of student participation is 80.4%, thus meeting the criteria for active student involvement. (3) The student learning response rate was 80.5%, indicating acceptable results. After evaluating the three efficacy criteria, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model has been effectively applied to class VIII students at SMP Darma Medan.Keywords: effectiveness, mathematics, problem-based learning models,
