Abstract

Abstract

This classroom action research seeks to enhance the mathematics learning outcomes of SDN Mlatiharjo 01 class I students with the use of interactive PowerPoint and image media on material recognition diagrams. The method of research used is called Classroom Action Research (PTK). Two meetings were held during each of the study's two cycles. Every cycle has four stages: preparation, execution, assessment, and review. Two cycles, totalling two meetings each, were used to conduct the research. Twenty-six IB students from the class served as the research subjects. Techniques for gathering data include testing, documentation, and observation. Student learning outcomes have significantly increased, according to the research findings. During the pre-cycle, the average class score was 60%, but the learning completion percentage was only 34.61%. Completeness rose to 46.15% in cycle I, averaging 71.53%. Cycle II's completion rate of 84.61% and class average of 83.84% demonstrated even more progress. Learning outcomes and students' critical thinking abilities in mathematics have been shown to improve with the use of the PBL model and image media, particularly regarding diagram recognition material.

Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the impact of the project-based learning model on the academic performance of fourth-grade science students. The research focused on all 27 students in class IV A at Bendungan State Elementary School, using non-probability sampling. It employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design and utilized multiple-choice questions as the assessment tool. Normality tests confirmed that both pretest and posttest data were normally distributed. The paired sample t-test yielded a significant result (sig. 0.000), indicating that the project-based learning model had a positive influence on student learning outcomes. Additionally, the N-Gain test revealed a medium level of improvement in student scores, ranging from 0.6366 to 0.7.

Abstract

A spring pendulum is a mechanical system that describes the reciprocating motion of a mass suspended on a spring around an equilibrium point. The system consists of a spring with certain elasticity characteristics and a fulcrum to which the spring is attached. When the mass is pulled from its equilibrium position, the spring generates a restoring force proportional to the distance of displacement, inducing the mass to move periodically. Spring pendulum systems have seen frequent development in the design of mechanical systems that require high-precision vibration control. This study examines developments in system expansion and equation decomposition models of spring pendulums by conducting a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 36 pertinent articles from Scopus and Google Scholar (2000–2024). The main focus of the research lies on the expansion of the basic spring pendulum system through various modifications, which is the dominant topic in the review. The most popular technique for resolving the system's equations of motion is breaking down the equations using analytical mathematical formulations, particularly the Lagrangian method, which refers to the theoretical derivation of equations of motion through well-known mathematical frameworks like Lagrangian and Hamiltonian mechanics. The findings provide deep insights for the development of mathematical models as well as a comprehensive overview of the development of spring pendulum research. The implications of this research can contribute to innovations in engineering, physics, and other related disciplines.

Abstract

Low student achievement in Mathematics at the elementary level is often associated with the use of conventional learning methods that do not optimally stimulate student engagement and conceptual understanding. Therefore, innovative learning media are needed to support more interactive and meaningful learning. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of Flashcard media based on Game-Based Learning (GBL) to improve mathematics learning outcomes among elementary school students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, involving two teachers and 30 second-grade students at SD Negeri Sendangmulyo, Rembang Regency. The developed Flashcards featured colorful visuals, arithmetic operations, and game-based elements to encourage active participation. Expert validation obtained an average score of 3.89 (very feasible), while practicality testing yielded scores of 3.95–4.00 (very practical). The effectiveness test showed an increase in the average student score from 49.63 (pretest) to 78.83 (posttest), with an N-Gain of 0.60 (moderate–high). These results indicate that the Flashcard media based on Game-Based Learning is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ mathematical understanding and learning motivation in accordance with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

The rapid development of learning technology requires teachers to use innovative media that encourage students’ higher-order thinking skills. In elementary schools, science learning is still dominated by textbooks and teacher explanations, resulting in low student engagement and limited opportunities for developing critical thinking skills. Therefore, interactive media that supports inquiry and exploration is needed. This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of Torma Code, an interactive learning media based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model, in the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject on the topic of the sense of sight to enhance students’ critical thinking skills. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The media, teaching module, and test instruments were validated by two experts and categorized as very valid with average feasibility scores exceeding 90%. Practicality testing involving teachers and students also resulted in a very practical category with scores above 92%. Effectiveness testing through a paired sample t-test showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest (Sig. < 0.05), while an N-Gain score of 0.55 indicated moderate improvement. Thus, Torma Code is valid, practical, and effective in improving critical thinking skills.
