Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of demographic factors on the financial decision-making behavior of three generational cohorts Gen-X, Gen-Y, and Gen-Z in urban Indonesia, focusing on Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through an online survey with 381 respondents and analyzed using ANCOVA and Kruskal- Wallis tests. The findings reveal that income significantly impacts financial decision-making, with higher-income individuals making more informed choices. Women and Gen-Y demonstrate stronger saving discipline and cost-optimization strategies, while city- specific patterns highlight differences in financial behaviors, such as timely payments and discount awareness. Gender and occupation show no significant overall effects, though some variations exist in specific behaviors. These results provide theoretical insights into behavioral accounting, particularly in understanding the role of income and demographic contexts in shaping financial behaviors. Practically, the study informs financial advisors and policymakers to design tailored education and advisory programs for different demographic groups. The study offers a novel contribution by utilizing ribbon chart visualizations to uncover intergenerational and intercity financial behavior patterns in Indonesia.

Abstract

Amid rapidly evolving workplace dynamics, job satisfaction and motivation have become pivotal in shaping employee productivity and loyalty, forming the foundation of this study’s investigation. This study aims to analyze the influence of flexible working hours, work-life balance, and compensations on employee satisfaction, with employee motivation serving as a mediating variable specifically among Generation Z employees in the manufacturing and service sectors in Bandung. A quantitative approach was applied using descriptive and verification methods. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 200 purposively selected respondents. The results indicate that the implementation of the three independent variables remains suboptimal, with average scores falling below the “good” category. Notably, flexible working hours and compensations showed a direct negative impact on both motivation and job satisfaction. Conversely, work-life balance had a strong positive effect on both variables. An interesting finding emerged when employee motivation was tested as a mediating variable: in some cases, motivation weakened the positive impact on satisfaction, suggesting a possible misalignment between the type of motivation provided and Generation Z’s internal expectations. This study highlights the urgent need for HR strategies that are responsive and aligned with Gen Z values and preferences to sustainably enhance employee satisfaction.

Abstract

In the ongoing industrialization era, business progress is growing rapidly, driven by very tight competition. The decline in share value in the infrastructure sector is the result of intense and growing business competition. This phenomenon encourages investors to make careful considerations before making investment decisions. Thus, the company has the opportunity to strengthen and increase its capital liquidity. This research was conducted on four large companies that have been specified, namely PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk, PT Indosat Tbk, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling method on company financial reports and applies Panel Data Regression techniques. Data analysis using the t test (Partial Test) and Simultaneous Test (F Test) revealed that, partially, Return on Assets (ROA) has no significant effect on company value. On the other hand, Return on Equity (ROE) and Company Size (Firm Size) have a significant effect on company value. Simultaneously, ROA, ROE, and Firm Size together influence company value by 48%, while other factors also play a role. The analysis was carried out through multiple linear regression using Eviews 10 software and described the calculation results of the classical assumption deviation test. This research is expected to provide considerations for companies in increasing company value and attracting the interest of more investors.

Abstract

The capital market plays a crucial role in economic growth, serving as a platform for investors and companies to engage in financial transactions. One of the key factors investors consider when making investment decisions is stock price movement, which various financial ratios can influence. This study examines the effect of Return on Assets (ROA), Current Ratio (CR), and debt-to-equity ratio (DER) on stock prices at PT. Unilever Indonesia Tbk over the period 2014-2023. This research employs a quantitative method with a descriptive and verification approach, utilizing secondary data from the company's financial reports and stock price data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The purposive sampling method was used to select data, and analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The study also conducted classical assumption tests, including normality, heteroscedasticity, multicollinearity, and autocorrelation tests, to ensure the validity of the results. The findings reveal that ROA, CR, and DER do not significantly affect stock prices, either partially or simultaneously. This contradicts several previous studies that suggested a strong correlation between financial ratios and stock prices. The results indicate that stock price fluctuations at PT. Macroeconomic conditions, market sentiment, and external shocks may influence Unilever Indonesia Tbk. In conclusion, this study suggests that investors should consider additional factors beyond financial ratios when investing in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector. Future research should explore the impact of external factors, including inflation, interest rates, and industry trends, on stock price movements.
