Abstract

Abstract

This study is based on cases of violence in schools which include cases of bullying that still often occur. To overcome violence in schools, the government issued Permendikbudristek number 46 of 2023 concerning the handling of acts of violence in schools. In this regulation, the government requires every school to form a Violence Prevention and Handling Team (TPPK) to reduce the increasing cases of violence in schools. The problem is that since this regulation was issued on August 4, 2023 until February 2024, only 79.39% of schools have formed it. On the other hand, cases of violence in schools still often occur today. The purpose of this study is to determine the correlation between TPPK that has been formed in schools and acts of violence and bullying behavior. The research method used is quantitative correlation to determine the relationship between variables involving three research variables, namely the TPPK variable, the school violence variable and the bullying behavior variable. The population of this study was 1,527 high school students in Semarang who had experienced violence at school or who had been victims of bullying. The sampling technique used was a simple random sampling. The sample of this research was 248 students from 9 public high schools and 10 private high schools in Semarang. Data analysis used the Mann Whitney U Test and simple linear regression supported by IBM SPSS Statistics 25 from Windows software. The results of the study showed that the formation of TPPK was able to minimize acts of violence and bullying behavior in schools. However, the acts of violence and bullying behavior that occurred did not show significant differences in results, both in schools that had formed TPPK and those that had not. These results indicate that the TPPK that has been formed in schools is not fully effective even though it has influenced violent behavior in schools. For this reason, the role of TPPK members still needs to be improved by providing skills training in preventing and handling violence in schools.

Abstract

The water-gas shift (WGS) reaction is a crucial process for increasing hydrogen (H₂) production by minimizing carbon monoxide (CO) content. It is widely applied in the petrochemical industry to reduce CO levels in syngas produced from hydrocarbon reforming. Conventionally, this reaction is conducted in two stages: high-temperature shift (HTS) and low-temperature shift (LTS). However, this approach presents both technical and economic limitations. To address these issues, catalysts capable of operating optimally at intermediate temperatures—referred to as medium-temperature shift (MTS)—have been developed. The scope of discussion in this article consists of catalyst development challenges such as sintering, deactivation, and side reactions. This review is intended to serve as a reference for the development of efficient WGS catalysts under MTS conditions, along with modification strategies aimed at enhancing their performance based on current research findings.

Abstract

Strengthening youth as agents of change within the context of democracy and organization is an urgent need to create a more engaged and empowered society. This program aims to enhance political understanding, communication skills, and leadership character among the youth of Ranting IPK PB Selayang I. The methods used include interactive training and workshops encompassing three main components: the formation of political understanding through discussions and political simulations, the development of communication skills through practical exercises, and the building of leadership character through mentoring and leadership activities. Evaluation is conducted through interviews, surveys, and observations before and after the training. The results show that the integration of political understanding and communication skills within the community service program is effective in enhancing the political understanding and engagement of the youth. This community service program successfully creates youth who are more skilled, knowledgeable, and active in society. Strengthening political understanding, communication skills, and leadership character is an effective strategy to shape youth into smart and good citizens.

Abstract

Reducing embodied energy (EE) in building materials is a critical aspect of achieving sustainable building construction. Embodied energy refers to the total energy consumed in the extraction, processing, transportation, and manufacturing of building materials before they reach the construction site. In conventional buildings, total energy consumption is predominantly influenced by operational energy (OE), which includes energy used for heating, cooling, lighting, and ventilation throughout the building’s lifespan. However, in energy-efficient buildings, the proportion of EE to total energy demand becomes more significant, sometimes equaling or surpassing OE. This shift highlights the growing importance of minimizing EE in sustainable building design. This study conducts a systematic review using the PRISMA framework, extracting relevant data from the Scopus database to categorize methods for reducing EE within cradle-to-gate systems. These methods are classified into three phases: the material phase, the construction method phase, and the design phase. The material phase includes three approaches: mixed material intervention, production process intervention, and material substitution. The construction method phase encompasses two approaches: building component substitution and process or method substitution. Finally, the design phase focuses on interventions at the building design level. Despite these classifications, the findings suggest that no single phase or approach demonstrates a significantly greater impact on EE reduction than the others. Each approach contributes comparably to reducing EE, highlighting that while notable progress has been made, the relative effectiveness of individual methods remains consistent across phases. Integrated approaches combining strategies across multiple phases hold promise for substantial reductions in EE, emphasizing the need for future research to refine and innovate these methodologies.

Abstract

Adaptive technology in education offers an innovative solution to enhance learning quality by personalizing instructional materials according to students’ needs. This study aims to analyze the potential of adaptive technology in Indonesia’s education system and identify its implementation challenges. Using a literature review method, this research examines various studies on the application of adaptive technology in education, particularly within the "Merdeka Belajar" framework. The findings indicate that adaptive technology can enhance student engagement, facilitate data-driven learning, and assist teachers in accurately identifying student difficulties. However, major challenges in its implementation include limited infrastructure, gaps in digital literacy among educators, and cultural resistance to technology in education. To address these barriers, strategic measures such as strengthening digital infrastructure, implementing TPACK-based teacher training, and educating communities about the benefits of adaptive technology are necessary. With these recommendations, adaptive technology is expected to be effectively integrated into Indonesia’s education system, fostering more inclusive, flexible, and high-quality learning.
