Abstract

Academic procrastination is a problem often experienced by students. This research aims to determine the influence of internal locus of control on academic procrastination in class X students at SMA Negeri 9 Semarang. The research design used is ex post facto quantitative research. The study population was all first-grade students totaling 396 students. The research sample was taken with a simple random sampling technique totaling 180 students. The research instrument used a 20-item internal locus of control scale developed from Levenson’s theory (1981) and a 14-item academic procrastination scale developed from Ferrari’s theory (1995) theory. The data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis and simple linear regression analysis. The level of academic procrastination is in the high category (M = 49.15; SD = 5.78) and the level of internal locus of control is in the high category (M = 69.46’ SD = 8.174). Hypothesis testing shows that there is an influence of internal locus of control on academic procrastination (R2= 0.900, ρ < 0.05). This means that the internal locus of control contributes to academic procrastination by 90%, while the rest is influenced by other factors. Recommendations for future researchers can examine the role of internal locus of control on academic procrastination in terms of gender.

Abstract

Efforts to increase students' self-confidence can be done in several ways, one of which is using classical guidance. Classical guidance services are a method of guidance provided by guidance and counseling teachers to more than one student or what is usually called large group guidance. Classical guidance can be done through many techniques such as discussions using the Problem Based Learning model. Referring to the results of observations, discussions and pretest post-test results conducted by guidance and counseling teachers for class IX H students at SMPN 1 Semarang, it shows that students tend not to have high self-confidence. Students tend to be less active, afraid to express their opinions, hesitant, embarrassed if asked to speak in front of their friends, and anxious about their abilities when appointed by the counseling guidance teacher when in class. This research is a type of experimental research carried out in the form of a pre-experimental design. The research design applied was a one-group pretest-posttest design. This design has a pretest before action treatment and a posttest after action treatment. Based on the results of the pretest conducted by the guidance and counseling teacher, it was found that efforts were needed to increase students' self-confidence. The pretest results showed that out of 35 students, the percentage of self-confidence was 57.2%, they had very low self-confidence. Therefore, guidance and counseling teachers continue to strive to provide classical guidance in class IX H of SMPN 1 Semarang which is carried out through the first and second cycles. After carrying out the action, the next step is to carry out the post-test. The posttest results showed that the percentage of students' self-confidence had increased, of which 65.7% had high self-confidence

Abstract

The Indonesian Government seeks to invest in digital communications to strengthen Indonesia's tourism industry and position it as a leading tourist destination. Social media enables organizations to provide personalized and engaging information to communities or individuals efficiently and effectively. Therefore, this study aims to discover how the Indonesian government uses social media (Twitter) to create images that can help boost tourism and the economy after COVID-19. This study uses social network analysis to explain information distribution and interaction. This study analyzes social media networks for promoting and branding Indonesian tourism using a qualitative descriptive and theoretical approach. To visualize data analysis, the Nvivo 12 Plus software, specifically the Twitter Sociogram and Netlytics dataset tools, highlights the results of Social Network Analysis regarding interactions using the hashtag #WonderfulIndonesia. According to the study's findings, the Indonesian government uses Twitter as a means of communication and promotion to improve tourism's image or branding, which is likely to be effective. By mentioning the #WonderfulIndonesia hashtag, government accounts promote tourism branding by disseminating information to the public, private sector, and others. The use of social media in large-scale tourism branding activities to attract tourists and improve the nation's economy is usually accompanied by strict management. In addition, support from various stakeholders is needed because it is proven that the government, as a single actor, has limitations in increasing tourism sector revenue through branding.

Abstract

In the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, teachers are required to be closer and understand students in depth, this is because learning focuses on the needs of students. Through differentiated learning, teachers are expected to have good social-emotional skills (KSE), not only when teaching but also when interacting outside the classroom. This also applies to education staff, who are expected to be able to show empathy, manage emotions, and build positive relationships. Thus, in the educational process not only develops academic abilities but also students' social and emotional skills (KSE), which include; emotional management, empathy, and the ability to collaborate, which are important for the future success of students. Unfortunately, there are still many challenges in school, such as a lack of ability to recognize emotions, establish healthy relationships, and make wise decisions. Therefore, KSE training for educators and education personnel is important. With the methods of discussion, lectures, questions and answers, and brainstorming, this training aims to improve the understanding and skills of educators and education staff. As a result, there is an increase in teachers' perception of understanding and social-emotional skills, which is characterized by educators being able to develop ideas in order to be inspirational role models and develop ideas in creating an environment that supports positive development, as well as building the future of students by always implementing social-emotional skills.
