Abstract

This study aims to analyse the quality or ability to complete gap text as a strategy for understanding information. The research method uses a descriptive-inferential quantitative approach. The research sample was 28 students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, FKIP, Riau University, which was carried out in 2022. The data collection technique was a test on gap text. Data analysis techniques included scoring and assessing the results of respondents' entries through descriptive statistics and decision analysis through normality tests and one-sample t tests. The results of the analysis of completing incomplete text as a strategy for understanding information were an average of 71,50 with the independent category. The normality test had a normal distribution through the Shapiro-Wilk value of 0,949 at a significance of 0,187, the t test obtained ttable -1,704 < tcount 0,125 < ttable +1,704 and a significance value of 0,902 > 0,05. The test results provide a conclusion that the quality of completing incomplete text can help in understanding the information in a text. Significantly, the quality of completing incomplete text had a positive impact on strategies for understanding information in the text.

Abstract

This research is a type of research and development (RD). The problem formulation in this research is how to develop procedures, quality and practicality of smart card-based learning media with a make a match model in procedural text material in high school. The test subjects in this research were class XI students at SMAN 6 Pekanbaru, totaling 30 students. The data in this research was obtained from the results of potential and problem analysis as well as limited trials with students. The data sources in this research were obtained from interviews, questionnaire distribution, and literature study. The data in this study were analyzed using descriptive statistics in the context of averages and Pearson product moment correlations. The quality of the make a match model of smart card-based learning media in procedural text material in high school is seen from the results of expert validation analysis and received a very good assessment. Its practicality can be seen from the results of the analysis of student assessments in limited trials and an assessment was obtained in the very good category

Abstract

Model pembelajaran problem based learning, dapat memberikan pengaruh yang tinggi bila diterapkan pada kegiatan pembelajaran. Kemudian pada penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan uji paired sample t-test, untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh dari model pembelajaran problem based learning. Pada pengujian hipotesis data yang digunakan adalah hasil pretest dan posttest siswa pada kelas eksperimen. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data dengan bantuan SPSS versi 30 yang diperoleh bahwa nilai thitung sebesar -5,429 karena nilai signifikansi (sig) sebesar 0,001 maka dapat disimpulkan H0 ditolak H1 diterima. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa model pembelajaran problem based learning berpengaruh positif dan signifikan secara parsial terhadap kemampuan menulis teks argumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemampuan kognitif siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada perbandingan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen yang memperoleh rata-rata nilai 80 lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol yang memperoleh rata-rata nilai 72 hasil yang berbeda yang disebabkan pemberian perlakuan yang berbeda pada masing-masing kelas.
