Abstract

Crime and romance were common themes in Chinese Indonesian literature during the colonial era. Although this literary genre falls into a subgenre, it aesthetically provides a covert narration of intermixing worlds: East and West. This paper examines the practices of liminality and identity construction in Tan Boen Kim’s Tjerita Nona Gan Jan Nio atawa Pertjinta’an dalem Rasia (1914). The construction of identity in liminal spaces in the novel is interpreted through postcolonial lens, especially based on the concepts of hybridity and ambivalence. The material object of this study is the novel, and the formal object is the meeting of the subjects in the liminal space. The data are collected from the content of the text, the topic, the social context, and other relevant sources. The interpretation technique is performed through deconstructive reading and circular reading between the text and the social context. Based on the analysis, it is found that Tan Boen Kim preserved the moral traditions on the one hand but promoted liberalism on the other hand. It is also found that the author’s attitude in “moderation” (moderate-tradition) position is based upon his choices of cultural construction which is between moderate and tradition—thus making his strategy characterized by ambivalence.

Abstract

The issue of Islam, women, and modernity discourses are common discussions in Indonesian literature. Literary works can be seen as part of an effort to welcome these ideas. This study discusses the literary works of Mahdavi and Asma Nadia in responding to issues of Islam, women, and modernity discourse. This study uses a postcolonial study point of view. The object of this research is Ratu Yang Bersujud (2013) by Mahdavi and Hijab Traveler (2012, 2014, and 2015) series from Asma Nadia. The formal object is the discourse of colonial modernity, Islam, and women. The data of this research are the contents of literary works, colonial discourse, Islam, women, and modernity. The data interpretation technique was carried out by following the binary opposition reading procedure in postcolonial studies. The response to the discourse on women, Islam, and modernity is done by negotiating and at the same time building women's constructions. However, women's voices become ambiguous when the subject is trapped in the discourse of modernity and capitalism through the issue of globalization. Women must continue to play their Islamic identity in entering the arena of modernity.

Abstract

Abstrak Strategi Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) Dalam Pembelajaran Seni Rupa Siswa Kelas VII Di SMPN 2 Wonosari. Skripsi. Program Studi Pendidikan Seni Rupa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa Yogyakarta, 2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) Mengetahui persiapan yang dilakukan dalam pelaksanaan strategi CTL pada pembelajaran seni rupa siswa kelas VII ; 2) Mengetahui pelaksanaan strategi CTL dalam pembelajaran seni rupa siswa kelas VII di SMPN 2 Wonosari; 3) Mendeskripsikan evaluasi hasil penerapan strategi CTL pada pembelajaran seni rupa siswa kelas VII di SMPN 2 Wonosari; 4) Mengetahui faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam penerapan strategi CTL pada pembelajaran seni rupa siswa kelas VII di SMPN 2 Wonosari. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif-kualitatif dengan strategi fenomenologi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah Guru Seni Budaya, Waka Kurikulum, Kepala Sekolah, dan Siswa Kelas VII di SMPN 2 Wonosari. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, tahap evaluasi hasil, serta faktor pendukung dan penghambat. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, kuesioner (siswa), dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Tahap persiapan pembelajaran seni rupa dengan strategi CTL dilakukan dengan baik sebagai upaya menuju Impelentasi Kurikulum Merdeka (IKM); 2) Tahap pelaksanaan pembelajaran seni rupa dengan strategi CTL dapat berimplikasi dengan baik terhadap capaian pembelajaran dengan mengkombinasikan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi; 3) Tahap evaluasi hasil dalam penerapan strategi CTL pada pembelajaran seni rupa dapat mencapai tujuan pembelajaran; 4) Faktor penghambat lebih banyak daripada faktor pendukung namun pembelajaran seni rupa dengan menerapkan strategi CTL dapat dilaksanakan dengan baik. This study aims to 1) Know the preparations made in the implementation of CTL strategies in fine arts learning for grade VII students; 2) Knowing the implementation of CTL strategies in learning fine arts for grade VII students at SMPN 2 Wonosari; 3) Describe the evaluation of the results of implementing the CTL strategy in fine arts learning for grade VII students at SMPN 2 Wonosari; 4) Knowing the supporting and inhibiting factors in the application of CTL strategies in fine arts learning for grade VII students at SMPN 2 Wonosari. This research is a descriptive-qualitative research with phenomenological strategies. The subjects in this study were Cultural Arts Teachers, Waka Kurikulum, School Principals, and Class VII Students at SMPN 2 Wonosari. The objects in this study are the preparatory stage, the implementation stage, the result evaluation stage, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observations, questionnaires (students), and documentation. The results showed that 1) The preparation stage of fine arts learning with the CTL strategy was carried out well as an effort towards the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum (IKM); 2) The implementation stage of fine arts learning with CTL strategies can have good implications for learning outcomes by combining differentiated learning; 3) The evaluation stage of results in the application of CTL strategies in fine arts learning can achieve learning objectives; 4) There are more inhibiting factors than supporting factors, but fine arts learning by applying CTL strategies can be implemented well. Abstract

ABSTRAK Kisah perang seringkali mencerminkan nilai, moral, aspek kemanusiaan, krisis, kematian, keterasingan, romantisme, dan beragam aspek kehidupan lainnya. Perang Diponegoro adalah cerita menarik dan tragis yang menyimpan sejumlah nilai moral yang dapat dipetik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memvisualkan penggalan cerita Perang Diponegoro menjadi sebuah karya seni lukis yang mampu merepresentasikan pesan moral yang ada dalam kisah tersebut. Dalam proses penciptaan karya seni lukis ini, digunakan metode Practice Based Research yang dikombinasikan dengan metode Eksplorasi, Perancangan, dan Perwujudan. Eksplorasi pada penciptaan karya seni ini meliputi eksplorasi ide, konsep, visual, media, teknik serta eksplorasi estetik, dengan mengkaji historiografi Perang Diponegoro. Hasil penelitian ini menghasilkan karya seni lukis yang merepresentasikan penggalan kisah Perang Diponegoro dengan berbagai trik dan intriknya serta nilai moral yang melingkupinya.  Nilai kesejarahan tersebut akan diidentifikasi dengan heroisme tokoh utama dalam alur sejarahnya. Sejarah tersebut diinterpretasikan kembali, sehingga memiliki kompleksitas makna. Melalui karya seni lukis ini, diharapkan pesan moral dan kerumitan kisah Perang Diponegoro dapat terpancar dengan kuat dan menginspirasi.Top of Form ABSTRACT War stories often reflect values, morals, humanitarian aspects, crisis, death, alienation, romance, and many other aspects of life. The Diponegoro War is an interesting and tragic story that holds a number of moral values that can be learned. The purpose of this research is to visualize a fragment of the Diponegoro War story into a painting that is able to represent the moral message in the story. In the process of creating this painting, the Practice Based Research method is used in combination with the Exploration, Design, and Realization methods. Exploration in the creation of this artwork includes exploration of ideas, concepts, visuals, media, techniques and aesthetic exploration, by examining the historiography of Diponegoro War. The result of this research is a painting that represents a fragment of the Diponegoro War story with its various tricks and intrigues as well as the moral values that surround it.  The historical value will be identified with the heroism of the main character in the historical flow. The history is reinterpreted, so that it has a complexity of meaning. Through this painting, it is hoped that the moral message and complexity of the Diponegoro War story can emerge strongly and inspiringly.

Abstract

Abstrak   Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMK Sosial Islam 1 Prambanan, siswa memiliki kendala atau masalah yang dihadapi seperti minimnya pemahaman tentang seni. Siswa kesulitan dalam menerima pembelajaran teori, dan lebih suka ke prakteknya langsung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persiapan yang dilakukan guru dalam meningkatkan kreativitas siswa. Proses guru dalam membentuk kreativitas siswa kelas X. Upaya guru dalam meningkatkan kreativitas siswa kelas X.  Hasil penerapan optimalisasi visual spacial seni rupa 2 dimensi untuk meningkatkan kreativitas siswa kelas X. Metode pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini merupakan deskriptif kualitatif, bertujuan untuk mengetahui upaya guru dalam meningkatkan kreativitas siswa melalui optimalisasi kecerdasan visual spacial. Pada pengamatan peneliti tidak menemukan adanya kesamaan kajian dengan judul di atas, akuntabilitas penelitian dapat terjaga dan terhindar anasir tiruan. Guru mengoptimalisasikan kecerdasan visual spacial siswa melalui kegiatan menggambar pada pelajaran seni budaya. 1. Guru menyiapkan semua struktur pembelajaran seni budaya, seperti: RPP, buku pembelajaran seni rupa, alat dan bahan praktek seni rupa 2 dimensi. 2. Proses guru pada tahap kreativitas siswa dengan mengajarkan siswa step by step pada proses belajarnya. 3. Guru menggunakan pendekatan Scientific Learning, model Project Based Learning, dan metode penugasan pada pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kreativitas siswa. 4. Hasil penerapan optimalisasi visual spacial yang diterapkan guru dengan menginstruksi siswa mengkolaborasikan hasil karya seninya dengan desain pada pelajaran tata busana. Abstract  Research conducted at SMK Sosial Islam 1 Prambanan, students have obstacles or problems faced such as a lack of understanding of art. Students have difficulty in accepting theoretical learning, and prefer to practice directly. This study aims to describe the preparations made by teachers in increasing student creativity. The teacher's process in shaping the creativity of grade X students. Teachers' efforts in improving the creativity of grade X students.  The results of the application of visual spacial optimization of 2-dimensional fine art to increase the creativity of grade X students. Data collection methods by means of observation, interviews and documentation. This research is descriptive qualitative, aims to find out the teacher's efforts in improving student creativity through optimizing visual spatial intelligence. In the researcher's observation, there is no similarity in the study with the title above, the accountability of the research can be maintained and avoid imitation factors. Teachers have maximized students' visual spatial intelligence through drawing activities in cultural arts lessons. 1. Teachers prepare all cultural arts learning structures, such as: lesson plans, art learning books, tools and materials for practicing 2-dimensional art. 2. The teacher process at the student creativity stage by teaching students step by step in the learning process. 3. Teachers use the Scientific Learning approach, Project Based Learning model, and assignment method in learning to increase student creativity. 4. The results of the application of visual spacial optimization applied by the teacher by instructing students to collaborate the results of cultural arts to be used as designs in fashion lessons.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the subject of women in colonial discourse by natives through the novel Mei Merah 1998: Kala Arwah Berkisah. To achieve this goal, descriptive qualitative is used as a research method. The data source is the novel Mei Merah 1998: Kala Arwah Berkisah (2018) by Naning Pranoto and all information related to the research topic. The research data ranges from language and sentences to thoughts in the text of the novel which contains narratives of female subjects who experience oppression and other related data. Data collection techniques are done by reading and taking notes. This research shows that Chinese women in Indonesia are in a subaltern position in the societal hierarchy. These women experienced double oppression, from their identity as Chinese under native domination and from their position as women under male domination. The events of May 1998 were proof of colonialism against ethnic Chinese women.  The voice of the silenced minority group is attempted by the author to construct through the narration of the female subject in the novel. These Chinese females in this narrative experience ambivalence and mimicry as a way of resisting colonial discourse from the dominating natives.

Abstract

Borneo prima tangerine (Citrus reticulata) is a plant species from East Kalimantan, which is expected to become one of the leading citrus in the country. The obstacle to developing this citrus is that cultivation is still limited, so efforts are needed to cultivate plants using in vitro techniques. The process of plant multiplication has been done, the next step is rooting. The purpose of this research is to know the type and concentration of plant growth regulators (PGR) that are optimal in stimulating root growth in Borneo prima tangerine plants. This study used a completely randomized design consisting of 9 treatments, namely control (without the addition of PGR), the addition of natural PGR raja banana extract with concentrations of 25; 50; 75; and 100 g/L, synthetic PGR Naphthalene Acetic Acid (NAA) concentrations of 0.5; 1.0; 1.5; and 2.0 mg/L, each treatment with 3 replicates. The results showed the addition of raja banana extract 75 g/L produced the fastest root emergence time of 3.33 days, the addition of NAA 0.5 mg/L produced the highest number of roots, namely 4.67 roots, and plantain extract 50 g/L produced the longest roots, namely 4.50 cm. This means that the addition of raja banana extract gives the best results in inducing root formation.

Abstract

Some issues in the neighborhood RT (community association) do not arise without reason. So far, the RT management has not received adequate attention from the local government. The challenges faced by RT administrators in carrying out their duties often conflict with their personal responsibilities as heads of families who need to earn a living, so services to the community can only be provided in the evening or on holidays. The community financial application is designed to address issues in monitoring payment of contributions, difficulties in the contribution collection process, and the management of data that is still done manually, often leading to errors in payment records. With this community financial application, the author hopes that it can make it easier for residents to make contribution payments in a practical and efficient manner, provide monthly financial reports, and remind residents who have not paid through two notifications each month. This application also allows residents to get to know each other through the block menu and helps the administrators in lightening their tasks as well as monitoring the recording and data collection of community contributions.

Abstract

Flowers are an important raw material in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. However, manual flower classification requires special skills, is time-consuming, and is prone to inconsistency. This study proposes the use of Machine Learning (ML) technology, especially the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method, to automate the flower classification process. The Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) is a method used in extracting visual features of flowers and will obtain parameters such as contrast, correlation, energy, and homogeneity. The research stages include data collection, image preprocessing, feature extraction, classification model creation, and model performance evaluation using a confusion matrix. The results show that the classification model built is able to achieve an optimal accuracy of 78.3%. This approach shows great potential in improving the efficiency and consistency of automatic flower classification.

Abstract

Abstrak Latar belakang Penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana implementasi seni kriya tradisional dalam tradisi budaya pandhalungan di daerah Jember, dengan tujuan mengetahui makna simbolik dalam kesenian patrol dan mengetahui faktor apa saja yang dapat mendorong keberlangsungan kesenian patrol di era modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi kepustakaan. Wawancara penelitian dilakukan kepada dinas pariwisata, seniman, dan masyarakat panhdalungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) implementasi seni kriya tradisional dapat terwujud dalam budaya pandhalungan yaitu seni musik dan alat alatnya yang memiliki corak khas budaya pandhalungan. Corak dan budaya yang khas menjadi identitas budaya patrol itu sendiri, (2) Makna simbolik masing-masing alat musik memiliki kegunaan tersendiri, seperti remo untuk berkomunikasi di laut, tiktok untuk balapan sapi dan kleter untuk membangunkan sahur orang. Sedangkan kesenian patrol pada batik memiliki warna warna dan motif batik yang khas. (3) Faktor pendorong bertahannya kesenian patrol di era modern dapat dibedakan menjadi dua, yaitu internal dan eksternal. Faktor internal antara lain: keinginan seniman, pengrajin, identitas daerah dan sumber pendapatan daerah. Sedangkan faktor eksternal adalah pengaruh budaya lain, dukungan dinas yang terkait, dan partisipasi masyarakat setempat. Abstrak The background of this research is to describe how the implementation of traditional craft art in the pandhalungan cultural tradition in the Jember area, with the aim of knowing the symbolic meaning in patrol art and knowing what factors can encourage the survival of patrol art in the modern era. This research used descriptive qualitative research methods. Data collection was done by interview, documentation and literature study. Research interviews were conducted to the tourism office, artists, and the Panhdalungan community. The results showed that: (1) the implementation of traditional craft art can be realized in pandhalungan culture, namely music and tools that have a distinctive style of pandhalungan culture. The distinctive patterns and culture become the identity of the patrol culture itself, (2) The symbolic meaning of each musical instrument has its own use, such as remo to communicate at sea, tiktok for cow races and kleter to wake up people's dawn. Meanwhile, patrol art on batik has a distinctive color and batik motif. (3) Factors driving the survival of patrol art in the modern era can be divided into two, namely internal and external. Internal factors include: the desire of artists, craftsmen, regional identity and regional income sources. While external factors are the influence of other cultures, support from related agencies, and local community participation.
