Abstract

Kesulitan pemahaman konsep terkait percepatan dalam kinematika hingga kini masih dialami mahasiswa. Artikel ini membahas kesulitan umum yang dialami mahasiswa dalam memecahkan masalah konseptual terkait konsep percepatan dalam kinematika. Subyek penelitian terdiri atas 35 mahasiswa tahun pertama program studi pendidikan fisika yang mengikuti perkuliahan Fisika Dasar I tahun akademik 2016/2017. Analisis dilakukan berdasarkan jawaban mahasiswa terhadap soal pilihan ganda beserta alasannya. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa konsep percepatan berbagai representasi masih terindikasi miskonsepsi. Disarankan untuk dilakukan penelitian lanjutan untuk mengeksplorasi lebih dalam dan lebih autentik penyebab miskonsepsi tersebut, misalnya memberikan lebih banyak soal-soal latihan dan wawancara mendalam. The difficulties of understanding concept related to acceleration in kinematics until now still experienced by students. This article discusses the general difficulties experienced by students in solving conceptual problems related to the concept of acceleration in kinematics. The subjects of the study consisted of 35 first year students of the physics education program that followed the Basic Physics I academic year 2016/2017. The analysis is based on student answers to multiple choice questions and reasons. The study concluded that the concept of acceleration of various representations is still indicated misconception. It is advisable to do further research to explore deeper and more authentic causes of these misconceptions, for example giving more practice questions and in-depth interviews. Kata kunci: pemahaman konsep, percepatan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pemahaman konsep dan konsistensi mahasiswa dalam menggunakan konsep saat menyelesaikan soal fisika pada topik kecepatan dalam berbagai format representasi. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan 4 soal pilihan ganda beralasan dalam format representasi berbeda. Penelitian dilakukan pada 26 mahasiswa S1 pendidikan fisika dan 22 mahasiswa S1 fisika tahun pertama di Universitas Negeri Malang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemahaman konsep kecepatan masih tergolong rendah yang ditandai dengan rata-rata skor mahasiswa hanya mencapai 43,49. Selain itu, alasan yang diberikan mahasiswa menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa tidak konsisten dalam mendefinisikan kecepatan karena pemahaman yang belum utuh. Beberapa kekeliruan mahasiswa diantaranya: (1) kecepatan adalah posisi per satuan waktu tempuh, (2), (3) tanpa memahami bahwa persamaan tersebut hanya benar jika percepatan konstan, (4), dan (5) tidak memperhatikan tanda (+/-) pada kecepatan. This study aims to look at the student's conceptual understanding and the students' consistency in used concept when them solved the physics problems in velocity with variety of representation formats. There are 4 MCQs reasoned in a different format representations to achieve these goals. The study was conducted on 26 S1 physical education students and 22 S1 physics students in first year. The results showed that the students' conceptual understanding is still relatively low which is characterized by an average score of students reached only 43.49. Moreover, the reason given students showed that students are still not consistent in defining velocity due to knowledge in pieces. Some students' mistakes are: (1) Velocity is the position per unit of time, (2), (3) without understanding that this equation is only true if the acceleration is constant, (4), and (5) do not pay attention to the sign (+/-) on velocity.

Abstract

Jeruk siam (Citrus nobilis var. microcarpa Lour) merupakan salah satu komoditas buah yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi. Produksi jeruk siam dapat ditingkatkan, salah satu caranya dengan memenuhi kebutuhan nutrisi,baik makro maupun mikro.bedari pupukberpelepasan hara lambat. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membandingkan respon pertumbuhan tanaman serta kadar NPK daun jeruk siam akibat perlakuan pupuk konvensional dan PUKAP JESTRO SR 1, 2, dan 3. Penelitian dilakukan pada Oktober 2017 hingga Maret 2018 di Kebun Percobaan Punten, Balijestro, Malang. Perlakuan disusun dalam RAK dengan 12 taraf meliputi campuran pupuk tunggal, dosis 100% N dari rekomendasi (81,81 g Urea; 58,78 g SP36; 36,36 g KCl); NPK 15-15-15, NPK 16-16-16 masing-masing dengan dosis 100 % N dari rekomendasi; PUKAP JESTRO SR 1, 2, 3 masing-masing dengan dosis 33%, 66% dan 100% N dari rekomendasi. Setiap perlakuan diulang tiga kali. Analisis data menggunakan ANOVA aplikasi SPSS, dan apabila terdapat pengaruh perlakuan yang nyata, maka dilanjutkan dengan Metode Ortogonal Kontras (MOK) taraf α 5%. Data hasil analisis kandungan hara dalam jaringan daun diinterpretasikan menggunakan perbandingan Indeks Kecukupan Hara Daun. Hasil analisis respon pertumbuhan tanaman, perlakuan PUKAP JESTRO SR memberikan pengaruh lebih baik daripada pupuk konvensional. Kadar N daun jeruk siam  yang dipupuk PUKAP JESTRO SR lebih tinggi daripada tanaman yang dipupuk dengan pupuk konvensional. PUKAP JESTRO SR dosis N 33% sudah mencukupi kebutuhan tanaman jeruk siam fase vegetatif umur 6 - 9 bula,  dengan jenis 1 (granul dengan coating) dan 3 (± 5.0 cm, non coating) dapat menjadi pilihan.

Abstract

This purpose of this study is to improve media of Socratic dialogue that has been developed by the previous researcher and to determine the effect of the Socratic dialogue in enhance understanding of heat concept. As a result of prior research, showed students still have a misconception. Data collected from one institution of high school in Malang City using pre and posttest. Student’s conceptual changes that occur previous, during, after will be analyzed based on pretest and posttest scores and rethinking sequence of used record Socratic dialogue media. To explore more in-depth, the researcher conducted interviews with students on this concept. This result showed Socratic dialogue media could help students be aware mistakes or students become convinced if their opinion is correct. This study is important because it uses to improve student’s comprehension to move from the false toward the right concept. In some cases, the result of this study used for recovery and prevent to misconception. It can solve with appear cognitive conflict in the minds of students through Socratic dialogue.

Abstract

Rotational Dynamics is one of the physics topics which is quite difficult for students. Several previous studies showed students difficulties on this topic, one of which is the aspect of students conceptual understanding. Modeling instruction is the effective approach to improve students understanding. This model is in line with constructivist theory and cognitive model theory. This research aimed to examine the effectiveness of modeling instruction that we developed to improve students' conceptual understanding of rigid body mechanics, where the knowledge of particle mechanics serve as anchor or bridging to develop model of rigid body. This research used mixed method with embedded experimental design. It used one group pretest-posttest design and involved 65 students of a high school in Malang as the subject. Data were gathered using test consisting of 17 multiple-choice items with explanation. The students scores were analyzed quantitatively using t-test and N-gain to measure the improvement of students understanding, while the students' reasons were analyzed qualitatively. The results showed the average students score increased from 1.62 to 9.92 with N-gain of 0.54 (in upper medium category). We concluded that the modeling instruction was effective to improve students conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep peserta didik melalui pembelajaran dengan pemodelan. Pembelajaran dengan pemodelan menitikberatkan pada model untuk menjelaskan fenomena gaya gravitasi, medan gravitasi, hukum Kepler, dan aplikasinya pada gerak satelit. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah mixed method dengan jenis embedded experimental design. Penelitian dilakukan di kelas X MIPA di salah satu sekolah Kabupaten Pasuruan dengan subyek penelitian 131 peserta didik. Analisis dilakukan secara deskriptip kualitatif untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep peserta didik, kesulitan peserta didik selama pembelajaran, dan kebermanfaatan pembelajaran dengan pemodelan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pemahaman konsep peserta didik setelah mengikuti pembelajaran dengan pemodelan pada materi hukum Newton gravitasi dan hukum Kepler. Peningkatan pemahaman konsep peserta didik dapat dilihat dari nilai d-effect size sebesar 2,12 yang termasuk lebih besar dari rata-rata dan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,49 yang tergolong medium atas. Pembelajaran ini dapat memudahkan peserta didik dalam memahami (1) konsep medan gravitasi, (2) konsep gaya gravitasi, (3) hukum I, II, III Kepler, (4) aplikasi hukum III Kepler untuk menentukan kecepatan satelit. Penelitian lebih lanjut dapat dilakukan dengan menganalisis miskonsepsi pada Hukum Newton Gravitasi dan Hukum Kepler.

Abstract

We have developed a computer-assisted recitation program to improve students’ conceptual understanding about force and motion. The program consists of multiple-choices questions with immediate feedback. The focus of this research was to examine the effectiveness of the program to achieve the goal, using one group pretest-posttest design. Pretest and posttest used the same instrument. Pretest was administered one week after the class discussed kinematics and Newton’s laws of motion, whereas the posttest was administered three weeks later when the students had utilized the program for one week. Subject consisted of 35 first year physics education students enrolled in introductory physics, in State University of Malang. The research found that the program significantly improved students’ conceptual understanding with N-gain of 0.31 and d-effect size of 1.46.

Abstract

Activities to determine the development of satisfaction, quality, and continuity of water flow from watersheds / sub-watersheds, namely by monitoring and evaluating water systems, one of the monitoringand evaluation of water systems using KRS (River Regime Coefficient) Based on Permenhut No: P.61 / 2014 conducted in Sub Batang Sinamar watershed, Batang Ombilin watershed and Lubuk Ambacangwatershed. This watershed was chosen because in this area floods occur every year. The data used are Indragiri Hulu watershed map data and discharge data to analyze the KRA value. The results of KRAanalysis in the Batang Sinamar Sub-watershed from 2010 to 2018 amounted to 35.40 included in the classification of "Low" with a score of 0.75, the results of the KRA analysis on the Batang Ombilin Subwatershed in 2009 to 2018 amounted to 248.20 included in the classification of "Very High" with a score of 1.5 and the results of the analysis of the KRA analysis in the Lubuk Ambacang Sub-watershed in 2009 to 2018 amounted to 35.56 included in the classification of "Low" with a score of 0.75.Keywords : water management monitoring, flow regime coefficient, indragiri watershed

Abstract

The focus of this study is to determine students' difficulties related to mastering the concept of Archimedes Principles topics. The study used descriptive quantitative method with the subject 35 XIth students. The research instrument was 10 multiple choice questions about Archimedes principle. Although there are improvements, but overall students do not fully understand the concept of the Archimedes principle. Difficulties among students are failing to understand that the buoyancy force is the resultant force by fluid pressure on the object and still considers the immersed object to have the Archimedes force affected by the depth of the object. When working on the application of the problem the students managed to answer correctly, but when completing the formulation questions the students were still get difficulties

Abstract

Abstrak: Harapan akan meningkatnya kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia mulai terwujud sejak diberlakukannya program sertifikasi guru oleh pemerintah sebagai upaya peningkatan kualitas dan kesejahteraan guru di Indonesia. Pemberlakuan kuota dan prioritas bagi guru yang telah memenuhi syarat minimal kualifikasi akademik dan masa kerja serta panjangnya antrian proses sertifikasi membuka kesempatan bagi guru-guru untuk mempersiapkan diri lebih dalam mengikuti sertifikasi guru dalam jabatan dengan matang. Salah satu komponen portofolio yang harus disiapkan adalah karya pengembangan profesi dimana guru dituntut untuk menghasilkan karya tulis ilmiah. Untuk itu, workshop ini bertujuan untuk membantu guru melalui pendampingan penyusunan artikel ilmiah dan publikasinya. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini tersusun dalam tiga kegiatan yakni persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Dalam pelaksanaannya, kegiatan terdiri atas workshop sebanyak enam pertemuan, diskusi dan konsultasi secara daring, serta klinik penyempurnaan naskah artikel. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SMA Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Malang. Hasil luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah artikel ilmiah guru yang telah dikirimkan ke seminar maupun jurnal berskala nasional atau internasional.Abstract:  The expectation on the improvement of education quality in Indonesia has started to be realized since the enactment of the Teacher Certification Program (TCP) by the government as an effort to improve teachers’ quality and prosperity in Indonesia. The implementation of quota and priority limitations for teachers who have met the minimum requirement either academically or based on years of service along with the long period of queue time for the certification process has opened the opportunity for the teachers to prepare themselves more carefully. One of the portfolio components that need to be prepared is the professional development papers where teachers are expected to write scientific papers. Hence, this workshop aims to help teachers through the writing assistance of scientific articles and publications. This community service consisted of three main activities including the preparation, the execution, and the evaluation. In the execution stage, the activities include six offline workshops, online discussion and consultation, and the clinic of article draft finishing. This workshop was held in Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) Laboratory Senior High School. Result outcome from this workshop is teachers’ scientific articles published either through national or international scale conferences or journals.
