Abstract

The low problem-solving ability of chemistry students in solving contextual problems is related to their low conceptual understanding and environmental literacy. Based on these problems, this study aims to improve problem-solving abilities and conceptual understanding through the development of a biodiesel e-module with a valid, practical, and effective STEAM Web Based Blended Learning (STEAM WBBL) approach. This study uses the ADDIE model for research and development. This study was conducted on 40 Chemistry Education students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and test instruments for problem-solving abilities, conceptual understanding, and environmental literacy. The effectiveness analysis technique used a written test in the form of problem-solving ability and conceptual understanding test instruments. Based on the validity test, the developed biodiesel e-module was declared valid, very practical, and effective in improving students' problem-solving abilities, conceptual understanding, and environmental literacy with N-gain values of 0.75, 0.73, and 0.68, respectively. The biodiesel e-module application with the STEAM WBBL approach is suitable for use as a teaching material.

Abstract

The importance of using digital technology in this era is closely related to how the education system runs and applies digital technology. Even in the 21st century learning is very closely linked to the use of digital media to be able to improve high-level skills that are really needed. So it is necessary to analyze the existing needs to improve students' digital literacy which is still low. Based on the questionnaire provided, it shows that the frequency of borrowing digital books and accessing digital-themed media is the lowest at 2.18. It is very necessary to develop authentic learning-oriented e-modules to increase students' digital literacy

Abstract

In the current era of technology and information, digital literacy is a critical factor for life and career success, but it has received less attention in schools. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Autonomy-Based STEM learning (A-STEM learning) in improving students' digital literacy. This research uses the ADDIE development model. The implementation test used a one-group pre-test post-test design on 29 students in class XI MIPA in one of the high schools in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Indonesia. Data collection used a digital literacy questionnaire that emphasized indicators of the intensity of application and utilization of digital literacy in learning activities; the number and variety of teaching materials and digital-based teaching aids; the frequency of accessing digital teaching materials; having operational skills in using ICT for learning and learning outcomes tests. The results obtained the n-gain value of digital literacy and learning outcomes of 0.74 and 0.85, respectively, with a high criteria. Abstract

In learning, teachers must prepare teaching materials to support the implementation of learning, it is necessary to analyze the needs of teachers for teaching materials that support their routine activities. The participants were 144 natural science teachers’, using random sampling techniques. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire are distributed via google form links with WhatsApp groups. An descriptive statistics, by describing the preferences of analysis teaching materials needs on 11 statements: current natural science learning system, support for teaching materials, types of teaching materials, current natural science teaching materials, level of difficulty of materials in teaching materials, development of teaching materials, contextual teaching materials, teaching materials based on local wisdom, smartphone-based teaching materials, development of electronic modules based on local wisdom, and plans for science materials integrated with local wisdom. This research contributes to explore initial data related to teachers' needs for relevant teaching materials that can be used as a basis for developing further teaching materials.

Abstract

Students’ problem-solving skills are still considered low. Teachers can motivate students in learning by using interactive teaching materials. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of electronic teaching materials with the SAVI approach to improve students' problem-solving skills in static fluid material. The electronic teaching materials consist of lesson plans, teaching materials, student worksheets, and problem-solving tests. This study was included in research and development using the ADDIE model and tested were carried out on 19 students of class XI MIPA MA Sultan Sulaiman. Data collection used electronic teaching material validation instruments and response questionnaires. The data analysis technique was carried out in a quantitative descriptive. The results showed that: (1) the result of the validation of electronic teaching materials including lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets, and problem-solving tests were in the valid category, and (2) student responses in terms of understanding the contents of electronic teaching materials, clarity of study instruction and information, suitability of electronic teaching material appearance, motivation, interest, curiosity, asking and responding to questions, and problem- solving have fulfilled the practical category. It is concluded that the electronic teaching materials developed with the SAVI approach are feasible to improve students' problem-solving skills on static fluid material. This teaching material can be an alternative for educators in equipping students with 21st century competencies, especially problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu aspek dari keterampilan abad ke-21 yang perlu dilatih dengan pembiasaan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran menggunakan bahan ajar. E-Modul merupakan salah satu bahan ajar yang dapat melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik sehingga perlu dilakukan pengembangan e-modul. Penelitian pengembangan bertujuan untuk memperbaiki dan meningkatkan kualitas e-modul sehingga layak digunakan. Tujuan dari penelitian pengembangan ini untuk mendeskripsikan validitas dan daya tarik e-modul biologi. Jenis penelitian merupakan penelitian pengembangan Educational Design Research dengan desain evaluasi formatif model Tessmer sampai tahap uji one to one. Validitas e-modul dilakukan oleh tiga pakar yang ditinjau dari aspek kelayakan isi, penyajian, bahasa, dan kegrafikan. Sedangkan daya tarik e-modul dilakukan oleh tiga peserta didik yang memiliki tingkat kemampuan rendah, sedang, dan tinggi dengan menggunakan angket daya tarik yang terdiri atas sepuluh aspek penilaian. Hasil validitas menunjukkan kategori sangat valid pada keempat aspek dengan nilai keseluruhan rata-rata 95,4 dan hasil daya tarik menunjukkan sangat baik dengan nilai 90,00. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, e-modul biologi dapat dinyatakan sangat valid dan memiliki nilai daya tarik.

Abstract

Scientific creativity is one of the main competencies in 21st century life, but this competency is not practiced in schools. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of dynamic fluid module using STEM-PBL to improve students' scientific creativity. This module contains lesson plans, module content, materials and scientific creativity tests. This research includes research and development using an adaptation of the ADDIE model. The research trial used a one group pretest and posttest design on 21 students of class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Takisung. Data were obtained from student learning outcomes tests, with module effectiveness of 0.41 in the moderate category. Thus, the dynamic fluid module using STEM-PBL developed is effective for increasing students' scientific creativity.

Abstract

Digital teaching media has become an integral part of education in the industrial era 4.0, but most schools have not facilitated it properly. This study aims to analyze students' needs for digital learning media. This study is a cross-sectional survey research, where 661 junior high school students in East Java were involved in filling out a digital teaching media needs survey questionnaire. Based on the results of the analysis, digital learning media is needed by students, especially to make it easier for them to learn science material, make learning more fun, and increase motivation and science learning outcomes. Thus, the media needs to be implemented at the education level.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji tingkat kevalidan modul pembelajaran pencemaran lingkungan berbasis problem-based learning (PBL) dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMP. Modul dikembangkan menggunakan model 4D yang meliputi tahap define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Validitas modul dinilai oleh tiga ahli, masing-masing mencakup ahli materi, ahli media, dan ahli pembelajaran, menggunakan instrumen penilaian skala Likert 1–4. Aspek yang divalidasi meliputi kelayakan isi, penyajian, kebahasaan, karakteristik PBL, dan keterkaitan dengan indikator berpikir kritis. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa modul memperoleh nilai rata-rata 3,65 dari skala 4, yang berada pada kategori sangat valid. Secara rinci, validitas materi mencapai 3,72 (sangat valid), validitas media 3,58 (sangat valid), dan validitas pembelajaran 3,66 (sangat valid). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa modul memenuhi syarat kevalidan teoritis dan layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar IPA untuk mendukung peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian lanjutan disarankan untuk menguji kepraktisan dan efektivitas modul pada konteks kelas yang lebih luas.

Abstract

Creative and moral characters developtment is essential in the industrial Era 4.0, but these characters are less integrated in wetland environment-based learning. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of a green chemistry module based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL) to train creative and moral characters in the context of wetlands. This research uses the ADDIE development model. The validation test involved five experts or practitioners, limited trials, and implementation on groups of 15 and 35 students. Data collection utilized module validation instruments, content readability assessments, learning observations, and student responses. The validation results showed that the module had high validity with a score of 90.00. The readability of the module content was very good, with a score of 90.83. Project-based learning can be effectively carried out in limited trials and implementation. Additionally, expressed positive responses regarding of satisfaction, creativity, and moral character. It was concluded that the PjBL-based green chemistry module was feasible for use in training students to develop creative and moral characters in the context of wetlands.
