Abstract

One of the skills in physics learning is problem-solving skills. However, this skill is not sufficiently trained at school. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effectiveness of mechanical wave teaching materials that apply direct teaching models to improve students' problem-solving skills. This is a quantitative descriptive research with one group pre-test post-test design on 28 class XI MIA 2 SMA Negeri 1 Alalak students. According to Heller, data collection was obtained through problem-solving tests using indicators of problem-solving skills: visualizing problems, describing problems, planning solutions, implementing solutions, and evaluating problems. The study results stated that the mechanical wave teaching materials effectively improved students' problem-solving problem-solving by producing a problem-solving test N-gain score of 0.83 with a high category. This also shows an increase in students' problem-solving skills. Thus, teaching materials for mechanical waves using the direct teaching method are effectively used in physics learning to improve students' problem-solving skills at school.

Abstract

In the era of Industry 4.0, problem-solving skills are crucial to address life's increasingly complex and diverse challenges. However, these skills are often not adequately cultivated in schools. This study aims to describe the suitability of physics teaching materials using problem-based learning (PBL) to enhance students' problem-solving skills in the topic of light and optical instruments. This research employs the Dick and Carey development model, involving five validators, ten students in a limited test, and 15 students in an extensive trial. Data is collected using validation instruments, observation of learning, and problem-solving tests. The results of the study indicate that the validation results of physics teaching materials, including lesson plans, teaching materials, student worksheets, and problem-solving tests, are 93, 92, 90, and 92, respectively, with a "very valid" rating. Furthermore, PBL activities in the limited and extensive trials are 84 and 86, respectively, with a "practical" categorization. In conclusion, the physics teaching materials developed using PBL are suitable for training problem-solving skills in physics education. These materials can be applied in secondary school-level education, particularly for light and optical instruments, to enhance students' problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Scientific creativity involves creating innovative ideas, thoughts, or concepts. Scientific creativity in schools is not sufficiently trained. This study aims to produce valid, practical, and effective dynamic fluids student worksheets that are suitable for enhancing students' scientific creativity. This study applied the ADDIE model with 34 test subjects from the XI MIPA 3 class at SMA Negeri 8 Banjarmasin. Data were obtained from validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The results showed that: (1) The student worksheets is considered valid because the validation results of the student worksheets and learning outcome tests were categorized as very good; (2) The student worksheets is considered practical because the results of the student response questionnaires were categorized as good; (3) The student worksheets is considered effective because the N-Gain of scientific creativity was 0.70, which falls into the high category. The developed dynamic fluids student worksheets is appropriate for enhancing students' scientific creativity in physics learning. Teachers can use this the student worksheets as an alternative to improve students' scientific creativity in physics education efforts.

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are one of the 21st-century skills that students must master, but most students still have not mastered them. This research aims to describe the implementation and obstacles to implementing STEM-oriented direct instruction to improve students' problem-solving skills. This research is descriptive and qualitative in analyzing students' problem-solving skills. The subjects of this research were 20 students in class XI MIPA. The tools used are sound wave teaching materials that have been validated, and research instruments are student response questionnaires, and researchers act directly as teachers. Data analysis is carried out by reviewing the results obtained in the field through interviews, observations, and a collection of other documents. The data analysis stages in this research used the Miles and Huberman model: data classification, data display, and data validation. It was concluded that the implementation of learning took place according to the STEM-oriented direct instruction syntax, and several factors hindered the improvement of students' problem-solving skills, including internal factors, namely from within the students, and external factors, namely from the teacher and school.

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are among the key competencies in 21st-century life, yet they are poorly trained in schools. This study aims to produce a direct teaching-oriented temperature and heat worksheet that is feasible to use to improve students' problem-solving skills. The ADDIE design was used in the development of this worksheet. The worksheet was tested on 25 students in Class XI SMA. Data was measured using validation instruments, response questionnaires, and problem-solving tests. The results showed that the developed student worksheet was categorized as very valid, the student's response to using the worksheet was categorized as practical, and the student worksheet was categorized as effective because the N-Gain of problem-solving of 0.56 was categorized as moderate. This means that the developed direct teaching-oriented student worksheet is feasible to improve problem-solving skills. This student worksheet can be an alternative for teachers to equip 21st-century competencies, especially problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA diharapkan memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan kualitas kemampuan dan keterampilan peserta didik. Keterampilan abad 21 terutama keterampilan hidup dan berkarir. katerampilan hidup dan berkarir sangat di butuhkan agar peserta didik dapat menghadapi berbagai peluang dan tantangan dimasa depan. Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk mengetahui profil keterampilan hidup dan berkarir peserta didik pada dimensi inetraksi sosial, kemandirian, dan tanggungjawab. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil keterampilan abad 21 peserta didik SMP IT  Taman Cinta Al-Qur’an Banjarmasin kelas VII. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriftif kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui Instrumen non tes berupa angket berdasarkan indikator keterampilan hidup dan berkarir . Tes dilakukan terhadap 20 peserta didik hasil tes menunjukan bahwa rata-rata keseluruhan keterampilan hidup dan berkarir adalah 71% peserta didik masih dalma kategori kurang. Keterampilan hidup dan berkarir pada indikator interaksi sosial 72% kemandirian 70% Tanggungjawab 69% pada semua indikator masuk dalam kategori kurang

Abstract

In the industrial era 4.0; STEM literacy plays an important role in the innovation of science and technology products, but this literacy is not trained in schools. Therefore, this article will analyze the feasibility of STEM-Problem-Based Learning (STEM-PBL) in improving students' scientific literacy. This study uses the ADDIE development model and trials were conducted on 23 students of class X SMA in Banjarmasin. Collecting data using the instrument of observing the learning implementation, response questionnaires, and scientific literacy tests. The results showed that students were able to carry out STEM-PBL activities well at each meeting and gave a positive response to these activities. In addition, the increase in scientific literacy in most students is in the high (26%) and moderate (61%). Although 13% of students in the low criteria, overall have experienced an increase in scientific literacy. So, STEM-PBL is feasible to improve students' scientific literacy in the industrial era 4.0Keywords: problem based learning, scientific literacy, STEM

Abstract

Digital literacy development is needed to live, learn and work in the era of digital technology. However, this literacy is lacking in schools. Therefore, this research aims to produce a puberty e-module using project-based learning that is feasible to improve students' digital literacy. The research design was adapted from Tessmer's formative evaluation model, which is limited to self-evaluation, expert review and one-to-one evaluation. Data collection techniques used e-module validation instruments by 3 experts and 2 practitioners and content readability assessments by students. The results showed the validation results in the aspects of design, format, material, language, presentation, and innovation were 94, 97, 94, 98, 94, and 98 with very valid criteria. In addition, the readability of the e-module content with very practical criteria. Thus, the puberty e-module using project-based learning developed is feasible to use to improve students' digital literacy. Pengembangan literasi digital dibutuhkan untuk hidup, belajar, dan bekerja di era teknologi digital. Namun, literasi tersebut kurang dilatihkan di sekolah. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan e-modul pubertas menggunakan project-based learning yang layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan literasi digital peserta didik. Desain penelitian ini diadaptasi dari evaluasi formatif model Tessmer, yang dibatasi pada self evaluation, expert review dan one to one evaluation. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen validasi e-modul oleh 3 pakar dan 2 praktisi, serta penilaian keterbacaan isi oleh peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil validasi pada aspek desain, format, materi, kebahasaan, penyajian, dan inovasi berturu-turut sebesar 94, 97, 94, 98, 94, dan 98 dengan kriteria sangat valid. Selain itu, keterbacaan isi e-modul dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Dengan demikian, e-modul pubertas menggunakan project-based learning yang dikembangkan adalah layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan literasi digital peserta didik

Abstract

Science process skills underlie every student's activity in learning science at school and its application in technology and problem-solving. However, these skills are not trained enough in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN). Therefore, the purpose of this study was to describe the profile of basic and integrated science process skills in MIN students. This research is a quantitative and qualitative descriptive study, where 79 students from 4 MINs in Hulu Sungai Utara were involved in working on a science process skills test instrument adapted from Suja (2010). The results showed the achievement of students' basic science process skills including measuring, questioning, communication, predicting, classifying, inferring, and observation; as well as the achievement of integrated science process skills including formulating hypotheses, planning experiments, interpreting data, and applying concepts with the lowest being 5.3% (hypothesizing) and the highest being 51.8% (measuring). Therefore; The profile of students' basic and integrated science process skills is still not good. Considering scientific process skills as the basic foundation in learning science, educators need to cultivate these skills in learning scientific concepts and their application in solving real life problems.

Abstract

Pendidik kreatif diyakini mampu mencetak lulusan yang kreatif. Namun, penguasaan konten dan pedagogis pada pendidik IPA dalam menghasilkan karya literasi sains masih rendah. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian Masyarakat ini dilakukan pada MGMP IPA Swasta Kota Banjarmasin untuk mengembangkan karya literasi sains berbasis lingkungan lahan basah. Metode pengabdian diadaptasi dari tahapan penelitian tindakan, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan (workshop, pendampingan, diskusi, dan penugasan), observasi-evaluasi, dan refleksi. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pendidik IPA mampu memahami konsep literasi sains, contoh-contoh karya literasi sains, berbagai model pembelajaran inovatif untuk mengembangkan karya literasi sains peserta didik, project penguatan profil pelajar pancasila dan penerapannya dalam mengembangkan karya literasi sains peserta didik, serta mampu menghasilkan berbagai karya literasi sains berbasis lingkungan lahan basah dengan baik.Abstract. Creative educators are believed to be able to produce creative graduates. However, the content and pedagogical mastery of science educators in producing science literacy work is still low. Therefore, this community service activity was carried out at the Private Science MGMP in Banjarmasin City to develop science literacy work based on the wetland environment. The service method is adapted from the stages of action research, namely planning, implementation (workshops, mentoring, discussions, and assignments), observation-evaluation, and reflection. The results of the service show that science educators can understand the concept of science literacy, examples of science literacy work, various innovative learning models to develop students' science literacy work, project strengthening the Pancasila learner profile and its application in developing students' science literacy work, and can produce various science literacy works based on the wetland environment well.
