Abstract

This study aims to analyze innovations in the Islamic Religious Education (IRE) curriculum from the perspectives of curriculum development, competency-based learning, and character education. The study employed a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from academic books, peer-reviewed journal articles, educational policy documents, and relevant previous studies. The data were analyzed using content analysis through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that innovations in the IRE curriculum encompass improvements in learning objectives, instructional materials, teaching strategies, learning media, and assessment systems, all of which are oriented toward developing students’ competencies and Islamic character. The implementation of these innovations is supported by active learning approaches, including Problem-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, collaborative learning, and the integration of digital technology to enhance instructional effectiveness. Furthermore, the curriculum incorporates Islamic values into contemporary issues such as digital literacy, religious moderation, environmental awareness, and social ethics. The successful implementation of curriculum innovation is influenced by teachers’ professional competence, institutional support, the availability of educational facilities and infrastructure, and a school culture that encourages innovation. This study concludes that innovation in the IRE curriculum is a strategic effort to develop religious, ethical, critical-thinking, and adaptive learners who are well prepared to address the challenges of twenty-first-century education

Abstract

The issue of household organic waste and the high cost of fish feed remains a significant challenge in Kulo Village. Limited community knowledge and skills in managing organic waste with economic value exacerbate this situation. A training program on Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae cultivation using household organic waste was implemented as a solution to both the waste problem and the rising cost of fish feed in Kulo Village, Sidenreng Rappang Regency. This initiative targeted the Anugrah Fishery Group (Pokdakan), which lacks expertise in organic waste management through BSF maggot bioconversion. This community empowerment program aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of Pokdakan Anugrah in cultivating BSF maggots by utilizing household organic waste as a waste management solution and an alternative fish feed source. The methodology consisted of three phases: (1) outreach and introductory instruction on waste management and maggot cultivation, (2) hands-on practice in constructing BSF egg-laying cages and media, and (3) evaluation through pre-test and post-test assessments. The evaluation results indicated a substantial improvement in participants’ understanding, increasing from an initial 35.92% to 93.30% across various aspects, including the role of maggots as decomposers, the use of “kasgot” as fertilizer, maggots as alternative fish feed, the BSF life cycle, and cultivation techniques. The program demonstrated the potential to reduce household organic waste volume, lower fish farming production costs, and create new economic opportunities through the sale of maggots and organic fertilizer. The training activities significantly improved participant comprehension. Post-test scores increased to 90.62%–95.25% compared to the pre-test scores of 33.50%–38.50%. Participants directly practiced the fermentation of BSF maggot substrate using 10–15 kg of organic waste, constructed multi-level bioponds, BSF fly cages, and egg-laying media. This program not only has the potential to reduce household organic waste but also enables the production of highly nutritious alternative fish feed, thus reducing aquaculture production costs by 60–70% compared to conventional feed. Additionally, new economic opportunities may emerge through the sale of fresh/dried maggots and kasgot organic fertilizer. Overall, this training successfully empowered Pokdakan Anugrah in a sustainable manner, supported environmental management efforts, and fostered the development of a waste-based creative economy.

Abstract

The research was focused on the integration of Fuzzy set theory with Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) to choose the optimum maritime security policy to achieve Indonesia recognition as the world's maritime axis. The method used is AHP with fuzzy based enhancement. Here, the weight of each criterion is calculated to overcome the criticism of the scale of unbalanced rating, uncertainty, and inaccuracy in the pairwise of comparison process. The best recommendation for Indonesian maritime policies is multi task single agency which is greatly infuenced by several factors such as technology, regulations, infrastructure, economic, politic, and socio-culture. The finding shows that the hybrid approach is able to produce the best recommendation for Indonesian maritime security policy.

Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of the Fun English Learning (FEL) application in enhancing the English vocabulary mastery of eighth-grade students at UPT SMP Negeri 1 Pangsid, Sidenreng Rappang. A quantitative quasi-experimental method with a pre-test-post-test control group design was employed. The participants consisted of 31 students: 16 students in the experimental group who learned vocabulary through the FEL application and 15 students in the control group who received conventional instruction. A 20-item multiple-choice vocabulary test was administered before and after the treatment. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk test, Levene's test, and an Independent Samples t-test with SPSS version 26. The experimental group's mean score increased from 63.13 on the pre-test to 77.19 on the post-test, whereas the control group's mean score changed only from 58.00 to 58.67. The post-test comparison yielded t(29) = 5.007, p < 0.001, with a mean difference of 18.52 points. The findings demonstrate that students taught through FEL achieved significantly higher vocabulary outcomes than students taught through conventional instruction. The application's interactive games, quizzes, pronunciation practice, listening activities, multimedia support, and immediate feedback provided repeated and engaging opportunities to process vocabulary. Therefore, FEL can be considered an effective technology-assisted medium for supporting vocabulary instruction among junior high school students.
