Abstract

This research aims to present an in-depth study of the role of children's literature as a medium for internalizing cultural values and exploring social issues. The aspects discussed in this research are obtained from library research on related research, then presented with descriptive analytical methods. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that children's literature with the mission of dulce et utile (entertaining and useful) plays an important role in the practice of character education, introducing cultural values, and sharpening sensitivity to social issues. The interaction between children and children's literature usually requires the role of adults as facilitators of literary works, especially in the pre-literacy phase which does not allow children to read literacy symbols independently. The practical implications that need to be considered by parents and teachers relate to four major classifications, namely considering the relevance of the work to the child's condition; adjusting the formulation of language content to the language skills of children/learners; using illustrations/intonation in the delivery of literary works (especially for children/learners who are not yet able to read independently); and providing direct assistance when children/learners interact with literary works. The mission of literature as an evocator of human consciousness (especially children, in this context) requires collaboration from various parties. Parents, educators, children's literature writers, and even the government as policy makers need to play an active role and realize the urgency of implementing children's literature in their learning.

Abstract

Studies on sexual violence in Indonesian literature are still limited to the socio-cultural aspects, while the representation of the psychological impact on child victims has not been widely examined. This article fills this gap by analyzing the short story Azul Maya by Laksmi Pamuntjak from the anthology Kitab Kawin, with a focus on the trauma of child victims of incest. This research is limited to one short story to explore the complexity of the main character's psychological experience. Using a literary psychology approach, descriptive qualitative method, and thematic analysis, the research found trauma symptoms in the form of anger, anxiety, fear, and depression reflected in emotional changes, withdrawn behavior, eating disorders, and dissociation. This representation reveals trauma as a structural impact of sexual violence in a patriarchal system. The findings affirm the function of literature as an aesthetic medium as well as social critique, and expand the interdisciplinary contributions between literature and psychology.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to develop a digital module based on the case method for social arithmetic material to enhance elementary school students' problem-solving skills and learning outcomes. The research employed Research and Development (R&D) methodology utilizing the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The module was designed as an interactive and contextual learning resource, presenting authentic cases as learning stimuli. Literature review indicates the effectiveness of case-based learning and digital technology integration in mathematics education. Validation results from media, material, and language experts demonstrated that the module achieved very valid and highly practical criteria with an aggregate validity score of 93.5% and practicality score of 90.5%. Implementation trials on elementary school students revealed significant improvement in problem-solving abilities across Polya's four phases (78.56% achievement in experimental class versus 56.25% in control class) and learning outcomes with N-Gain of 0.68 (moderate category) and Cohen's d effect size of 1.23 (strong effect), statistically significant at p = 0.001. The digital module effectively bridges the gap between theoretical mathematical concepts and real-world application through contextual transaction scenarios, facilitating meaningful knowledge construction and metacognitive competency development essential for 21st-century mathematics learning. Keywords: Digital Module, Case Method, Problem Solving, Social Arithmetic, Elementary Mathematics. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan modul digital berbasis case method pada materi aritmetika sosial untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan hasil belajar siswa sekolah dasar.
