Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of teachers in building effective communication with students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Yasmida Ambarawa, as well as to identify the challenges faced in this process. Good communication between teachers and students is very important in creating a conducive learning environment, especially at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah level which involves the teenage transition. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with semi-structured interviews and direct observation in classes 8A and 9B. The research results show that although most teachers have tried to create an open and comfortable atmosphere in the classroom, several challenges still arise, such as differences in students' social and cultural backgrounds and the influence of technology which reduces face-to-face interaction. Teachers play a role not only as teachers, but also as mentors who support students' academic, social and emotional development. This research provides insight into the importance of improving teacher communication skills to create a more inclusive learning environment and support successful learning.

Abstract

Abstract

Dambalo Village, Tomilito District, North Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo Province, is the designated research area listed in the administrative records. The main objectives of this research are to determine the surface and subsurface geology, understand the geological conditions of the research area, and analyze the cross-section of subsurface geological layers. The study employs the Schlumberger configuration geoelectric method to examine the subsurface geological cross-section. The researchers used a combination of geological surveys and subsurface data surveys, collecting data on surface geological features, outcrop observations, and resistivity measurements. The research area features a single landform unit, the denudational plain, and its stratigraphy includes a lithostratigraphic unit, Volcanic Breccia. The study area comprises four rock layers: the first layer is topsoil (passive clay), the second layer is sand, the third layer is breccia, and the fourth layer is sand. These conclusions are supported by geological and geoelectric data, demonstrating the effectiveness of integrating surface and subsurface surveys to provide a comprehensive understanding of the geological structure.

Abstract

This study maps the groundwater pollution pattern due to seawater intrusion in Olele Village, Bonebolango Regency, Gorontalo. This area has high maritime and ecotourism potential, but increasing tourism activities and population increase the need for clean water and the risk of seawater intrusion. The impact can affect air quality, land productivity, and public health. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach through field surveys, physical measurements of wells, and air quality tests (pH, EC, TDS, salinity), as well as semi-structured interviews. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics, GIS-based spatial mapping, and thematic analysis. The results showed that the dominant TDS value was categorized as "Good" to "Fair" (518–787 ppm), salinity was classified as "Brackish" (518–789 ppm), and Electrical Conductivity showed "Fresh Water" (1041–1581 µS/cm). The air pH is neutral (7.34–7.91). These findings form the basis for sustainable groundwater resource mitigation and conservation efforts in coastal areas.

Abstract

Geological maps at the village level are compiled using primary and secondary data, which contain descriptions of geological conditions such as types and distribution of rocks, relationships between rocks, geological structures, and others. This map is made on a scale of 1:12,000. The village geological map functions as a reference in developing village potential, especially related to mineral resources, rocks, geotourism, engineering geology, environmental geology, and as a means of learning geoscience for local students. In addition, this map can also be used as a source of information regarding potential geological disaster threats, such as earthquakes, landslides, volcanoes, tsunamis, and liquefaction. The purpose of this community service activity is to compile a geological map of Patoa Village as supporting data for accelerating village development. The compilation process is carried out through literature studies, field orientation, and geological surveys. The final result is a geological map of Patoa Village containing rock units, geological structures, and stratigraphy of the area. Based on unofficial lithostratigraphic nomenclature, it consists of a Holocene reef limestone unit, a Pliocene-Pleistocene piroclastic breccia unit, and a Pliocene-Pleistocene tuff unit.
