Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk (1) mengetahui kondisi classroom engagement siswa di MTs. Negeri 1 Kotabumi; dan (2) mengetahui keefektifan konseling kelompok dengan strategi self management dalam untuk meningkatkan classroom engagement siswa di MTs. Negeri 1 Kotabumi. Metode penelitian adalah single group repeated measures design yang dilaksanakan dengan 3 kali observasi classroom engagement, yakni pretest, postest dan follow-up. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 10 siswa kelas VIII yang dipilih dari 247 siswa dengan menggunakan teknik purposive random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) rata-rata kondisi classroom engagement siswa kelas VIII MTs. N. 1 Kotabumi 2015/2016 berada pada tingkat sedang, (2) terdapat peningkatan classroom engagement secara signifikan setelah mendapatkan konseling kelompok. Penelitian yang dilakukan menegaskan bahwa konseling kelompok dengan strategi self management dapat diaplikasikan untuk meningkatkan classroom engagement siswa. The aims of this study were (1) to describe the students’ classroom engagement of MTs. (Islamic Junior High School) Negeri 1 Kotabumi; and (2) to investigate the effect of the group counseling with self management strategy on students’ classroom engagement. The single group repeated measures design was applied in three times classroom engagement assessment: pre-test, pos-test, and follow up. The participants of this study were ten students’ who were selected using purposive random sampling from 247 students. The results showed that (1) the level of students’ classroom engagement of the VIII graders in MTs. Negeri 1 Kotabumi academic year of 2015/2016 were in medium level, (2) there was a significant effect of improvement on the classroom engagement after getting group counseling. This research affirmed that the group counseling with self-management strategy is effective for increasing students’ classroom engagement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dampak konseling kelompok cognitive behavior therapy, dengan teknik stress inoculation training terhadap toleransi distres melalui hardiness mahasisiwi Akademi Kebidanan Abdi Husada Semarang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan eksperimen, desain pretest-postest control grup dengan melibatkan subjek penelitian sebanyak 16 orang yang dipiliah secara proposive dari 70 mahasiswa. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat efek langsung langsung konseling kelompok cognitive behavior therapi teknik stress inoculation training terhadap toleransi distres akademik, serta efek tidak angsung melalui  hardiness sebagai mediasi yang memiliki hubungan yang positif terhadap toleransi distres akademik.This study aimed to examine the effect of cognitive behavior group counseling, with stress inoculation training technique on the distress tolerance through students’ hardiness of  Akademi Kebidanan Abdi Husada Semarang. The research method used experiment, pretest-posttest control group design involving research subjects as much as 16 people who were selected by 70 students. The results showed that there is direct effect of cognitive behavior group counseling with stress inoculation technique to tolerance of academic distress, as well as indirect effects through hardiness as mediation that has a positive relationship to tolerance of academic distress.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the effectiveness of counseling in the group of self-instruction techniques and cognitive restructuring techniques to reduce students' academic anxiety. This research uses 2 x 2 Factorial Design, applied to students as many as 31 students in Public Senior High School 12 Semarang. The instrument used was the Academic Achievement Questionnaire with a sub-scale of learning-related anxiety, class-related anxiety and test anxiety. Data analysis techniques used are 2-way ANAVA test and the mean difference. The results showed that counseling in the group of self-instruction techniques and cognitive restructuring techniques were effective to reduce students' academic anxiety. The findings of this research prove the effectiveness of group counseling services with self-instruction techniques and cognitive restructuring techniques for students in the city of Semarang Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to prove that group counseling with self instruction technique is effective to enhance self efficacy and reduce academic burnout. The design employed was pre-test – post-test control group. The subject of the study was selected by using purposive sampling technique as many as 16 students. To place the subject in the experimental group and control group, random assignment was conducted so that there were 8 students in each group. The result of MANOVA test proved that group counseling with self instruction effectively enhanced self efficacy (F3.12 = 185.787; ηp2 = 0.979; p < 0.01) and reduced academic burnout (F3.12 = 308.938; ηp2 = 0.987; p < 0.01). In addition, the Paired Sample t-test showed a result that there was enhancement of self efficacy                       (t = -19.943; p < 0.01) and significant decrease in academic burnout (t = 23.213;                        p < 0.01) in the experimental group. Meanwhile, the enhancement of self efficacy (t = -0.424; p > 0.05) and the decrease in academic burnout (t = 0.552; p > 0.05) in the control group did not significantly occur. Abstract

This study attempted to examine the effectiveness of cognitive behavior group counseling with cognitive restructuring technique to reduce academic anxiety. Meanwhile, the design used in this study was pre-test and multiple post-test designs. In this case, the researchers involved eight students in the eleventh grade or class XI of Public Senior High School 1 Pringgarata (SMA Negeri 1 Pringgarata). The subjects’ data were collected through statistic Achievement Emotions Questionnaire (AEQ) which was focused on class related anxiety, learning related anxiety, and text anxiety. For more, the collected data were analyzed by using repeated measure ANOVA. It resulted that there was a reduction in students’ academic anxiety (F(2.14) = 393.24, p < 0.01). These findings assert that cognitive behavior group counseling with cognitive restructuring technique is effective to reduce the academic anxiety of the students of SMA Negeri 1 Pringgarata.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of group counseling with self-talk technique and stress inoculation training technique to enhance students’ eustress. This study employed 2x2 factorial design by involving 28 students of Public Senior High School 12 Semarang. The technique of data analysis used was 2-path ANAVA test and the difference of means. The result of the study showed that group counseling with self-talk technique and stress inoculation training technique is effective in enhancing students’ eustress. This finding confirms the effectiveness of group counseling service with self-talk technique and stress inoculation training technique for students in Semarang, Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of group counseling with Cognitive Restructuring and Self-management techniques to reduce internet addiction. For more, the study used experimental method with pre-test – post-test one group design through Mixed Anova model. This involved 14 students of Public Vocational High School 12 Surabaya (SMKN 12 Surabaya) as research subjects chosen by using purposive sampling technique. Based on Mixed Anova analysis, it was known that group counseling with Cognitive Restructuring and Self-management techniques was effective to reduce students’ internet addiction. These findings asserted that students who received group counseling with Cognitive Restructuring and Self-management techniques experienced internet addiction reduction.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavior Therapy counseling to reduce the social anxiety of blind students in Jepon State Special Schools or Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) Negeri Jepon. To achieve such objective, the study used single-subject design with the pattern of multiple baselines across individuals done in eleven sessions of observation, namely three baseline A1 sessions, five times intervention session, and three baseline A2 sessions. For more, the subjects of this study were two blind students indicated experiencing social anxiety. In this state, behavior target was reduced from social anxiety behavior. Meanwhile, the data of the observed subjects were collected thorough direct observation method with Goal Attainment Scale guides. Further, visual graph analyses were carried out to look for mean, the degree of level of performance, rapidity behavior change, the trend of performance, stability levels, and overlap data which were then followed by t score and z score calculations. The results showed that Cognitive Behavior Therapy counseling was able to reduce social anxiety. Therefore, the undertaken study asserts that Cognitive Behavior Therapy counseling is effective to reduce the social anxiety of the blind students in SLB Negeri Jepon.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine and analyze the effectiveness of Solution Focused Brief Therapy group counseling to increase academic resilience and self-efficacy. This study used a pre-test – post-test control group design. The purposive sampling technique was used to select 14 students as experimental subjects who placed randomly into two groups so that each group consisted of seven students. The MANOVA test results showed that Solution Focused Brief Therapy counseling group was effective in increasing academic resilience (F(3.10) = 36.40; ηp2 = 0.91; p < 0.01) and self-efficacy (F(3.10) = 40.62; ηp2 = 0.92; p < 0.01). Furthermore, the Wilcoxon test results showed that in the experimental group there was an enhancement in academic resilience (Z = -2.38; p < 0.05) and self-efficacy (Z = -2.41; p < 0.05). The control group showed an enhancement in academic resilience (Z = -2.53; p < 0.05) but self-efficacy showed there was not enhancement (Z = -1.85; p > 0.05). The findings of this study conveyed that the Solution Focused Brief Therapy counseling group was effective in increasing academic resilience and self-efficacy.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of physical attractiveness and gender on self disclosure. This study has two independent variables and one dependent variable. The subjects in this study were students of SMAN 12 Semarang then 118 students were taken as research subjects. The data analysis technique used was 2-way ANAVA test and average difference. The results showed that the physical attractiveness and gender counselor had an influence on self disclosure. And, the counselors interested and female counselors are preferred more. This research proved that there was an interaction between physical attractiveness and gender with self disclosure for students in Semarang City, Indonesia.
