Abstract

Tujuan utama kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk menambah keterampilan, wawasan serta kepercayaan diri para guru tentang hakikat media pembelajaran dan mendesain media pembelajaran, sehingga mereka termotivasi untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didiknya. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini akan dilaksanakan secara daring dan diikuti kepala sekolah dan guru yang berasal dari SDN Cigentur Kabupaten Sumedang, SDN Gunungsari Kabupaten Sumedang, dan SDN Burujulwetan Kabupaten Majalengka serta calon guru atau mahasiswa dari PGSD UPI Kampus Sumedang. Adapun kegiatan utama pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah seminar inovasi pembelajaran tentang media pembelajaran inovatif sehingga seluruh partisipan yang telah hadir dapat mengimplementasikan materi yang telah disampaikan dan menjadikan produk inovasi pendidikan yang telah ditampilkan sebagai bahan referensi yang dapat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran di SD. Hasil pengabdian ini diharapkan berimplikasi terhadap peningkatan efektivitas dan kualitas proses pembelajaran pada sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Assessment is a tool that chronologically helps teachers monitor students. Therefore, assessment should be an inseparable part of learning. Assessment essentially focuses on assessing student learning processes. Assessment not only reveals the concepts that have been achieved, but also about the development process of how a concept was obtained. This research was designed as a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques use interviews. The research results concluded that teachers experienced difficulties in carrying out diagnostic, formative and summative assessments, especially in determining assessments that were appropriate to the learning objectives to be achieved, due to the many types or forms of assessment such as presentations, projects, products, oral, written and so on.

Abstract

The lack of reading comprehension skills in grade II elementary school students is the impetus for this research because reading media has the potential to improve reading comprehension skills. Researchers developed digital picture storybooks as a tool to help students gain reading comprehension to overcome this problem. The purpose of this study is to provide details about the development of picture storybooks that researchers will make, including development design, validation results, and user responses. Design and Development (D&D) using the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE). The resulting product was assessed by 2 material experts, 2 media experts, and 22 student users. The material expert feasibility test received an overall average score of 86.5% with the criteria “very feasible”. Then the final results of the media expert feasibility test get an overall average score of 92.5% with the criteria “very feasible”. Based on the media trial, user responses were obtained which showed an overall average score of 94.75% with “very good” criteria for picture storybooks as a learning media for reading comprehension that had been developed. This research corroborates the finding that students tend to like digital media (electronic), gadgets, and connected to the internet.

Abstract

Speaking skills are an essential component of school learning that needs to be learned. In the same way, to support learning activities, students need to develop their social emotional skills. But in reality, some students still have a tough time in speaking also not able to manage their social emotional skills. This study aims to see the effectiveness of show and tell method in speaking also social emotiona skillsl. The method used was experiments with a pre-experimental research design, also used one-shot case study, one sample t-test to test the achievability of learning with minimum completion criteria and independent sample t-test to evaluate a different in speaking skills of male and female students. Fourth grade students in Bandung Regency were the subjects of this study. Based on the results of the study, the average score of students' practical speaking skills was 84.1 seen from the assessment indicators. Show and tell method was effectively used with variations in students' performance.

Abstract

Quality academic services provide a conducive and supportive learning environment for all education customers at every level of education, and primary schools are no exception. However, the facts in the field show that there are still complaints from teachers, students, and parents regarding academic services in elementary schools. This study aims to analyze the level of academic service quality in elementary schools in Sumedang Regency, focusing on the five main dimensions of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibles. This research is a quantitative study using a survey method involving 50 elementary school teachers. The results showed that the quality of academic services in elementary schools in Sumedang Regency fulfills five dimensions with an average of high quality and has been able to meet the expectations and needs of teachers, resulting in satisfaction and good perceptions in the implementation of effective and efficient academic services even though the dimensions of reliability, empathy, and tangibles still need improvement. This research is expected to contribute to schools’ supporting decision-making and determining solutions in more specific areas to realize quality academic services.

Abstract

This study aims to identify how the transformational leadership model in improving the quality of academic services implemented in elementary schools. This study was conducted using survey methods and interviews with 50 elementary school teachers in Sumedang, West Java Province, Indonesia. This study aims to find out how implementing transformational leadership in elementary schools improves academic services across different dimensions, aiming to identify the average improvement. The findings indicated that the overall dimensions of the transformational leadership model were rated as good. These dimensions include idealized influence (charismatic), intellectual stimulation, individual consideration, and inspirational motivation. While not achieving a perfect score, it is anticipated that the average scores across these four dimensions of the transformational leadership model will significantly contribute to improving the quality of academic services in elementary schools.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan literasi yang dimiliki oleh siswa di Indonesia menjadi fokus permasalahan dalam penelitian ini. Berdasarkan masalah yang telah dirinci tersebut, menjadikan tujuan penelitian ini dimaksudkan guna mendalami informasi tentang kemampuan literasi dalam model project based learning baik sebelum atau sesudah. Pengumpulan data untuk mengetahui kemampuan literasi dilaksanakan dengan rangkaian petunjuk tes dalam bentuk soal kemampuan literasi siswa yang terdiri dari 8 soal pilihan ganda dan 4 soal uraian. Metode penelitian pre-eksperimental menjadi metode yang dipergunakan peneliti dipadukan pada desain penelitian one group pretest-posttest. Penelitian ini meneliti populasi yakni semua Sekolah Dasar Negeri yang ada di Kecamatan Cigasong, Kabupaten Majalengka, dengan sampel penelitian mencakup seluruh siswa dan siswi kelas IV B SDN Cicenang I. Hasil dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan literasi siswa sebesar 0,4002. Peningkatan tersebut diketahui dari hasil membandingkan antara nilai pretest kemampuan literasi siswa dengan nilai posttest kemampuan literasi siswa. Nilai rata-rata kemampuan literasi yang didapatkan pada saat pretest adalah sebesar 49,37, sedangkan nilai rata-rata kemampuan literasi pada saat posttest adalah sebesar 66,93. Disandarkan pada  hasil penelitian tersebut, penulis mengambil benang kesimpulan pernyataan bahwa project based learning terbukti mampu meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa kelas IV.

Abstract

Rendahnya tingkat kemampuan pemahaman terhadap isi bacaan dan hal ini menyebabkan peserta didik mengalami kesulitan untuk menyelesaikan soal – soal yang berhubungan dengan isi bacaan yang kemudian berdampak motivasi belajar dan rendahnya minat peserta didik sehingga berujung pada ketidaksukaan peserta didik terhadap pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia yaitu dengan materi teks biografi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan metode speed reading dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman pada teks biografi di kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian quasy eksperimen – Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design dengan populasi yang diteliti adalah peserta didik kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen terdiri dari 30 peserta dididk dan kelas kontrol pun terdiri dari 30 peserta didik. Pengukuran data diolah dengan menggunakan IBM SPSS 26. Berdasarkan perhitungan menggunakan uji N-Gain hasil dari pretest dan posttest menunjukkan adanya efektivitas metode speed reading untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman yaitu dengan ditandai nilai persentase kelas eksperimen 47% sedangkan nilai persentase kelas kontrol 6,1%. Maka, dapat disimpulkan penggunaan metode speed reading lebih efektif daripada metode konvensional.

Abstract

Low comprehension of poetry texts among students is a significant educational challenge. It is characterized by difficulties in interpreting content and answering related questions. Monotonous teaching methods that fail to engage students or provide opportunities for deep exploration of poetic texts often cause this issue. If left unaddressed, this problem can hinder learning goals. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of the Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Reflect, Review (SQ4R) method, assisted by e-book media, on improving poetry text comprehension in fourth-grade students. A quantitative, pre-experimental approach using a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design was employed. The entire population of 30 fourth-grade students was sampled through saturated sampling. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests and analyzed using a paired-samples t-test. The results showed a significant improvement in poetry comprehension, supporting the alternative hypothesis. The N-Gain analysis revealed a moderate level of improvement. Despite the modest gain, these findings suggest that the SQ4R method, when combined with e-book media, can significantly enhance students' poetry comprehension skills. This approach offers a more engaging and effective learning strategy compared to traditional methods. Future research should investigate the long-term effects of this method and its applicability across different age groups and literary genres. These results provide valuable insights for educators looking to diversify their teaching methods in reading comprehension instruction.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Guru PAI SD harus mampu membuat media pembelajaran inovatif sebagai sebuah kebutuhan untuk mengajar di era digital ini, salah satunya adalah membuat media pembelajaran berupa aplikasi android. Tujuan: Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan pembuatan aplikasi SAHIH sebagai media pembelajaran aplikasi android berbasis Smart Apps Creator (SAC) kepada guru-guru PAI SD. Metode: Bentuk kegiatan dilaksanakan secara luring pada tanggal 3 Agustus 2024 melalui pelatihan selama 10 JP kepada 44 guru PAI SD di wilayah Sumedang. Lokasi kegiatan bertempat di SDN Cilengkrang Kec. Sumedang Utara. Hasil: Melalui Pelatihan ini diperoleh hasil: 1) peserta dapat menginput desain aplikasi SAHIH ke dalam SAC, 2) peserta dapat menginstall aplikasi SAHIH pada smartphone masing-masing. 3) peserta dapat mengakses dan mengoperasikan aplikasi SAHIH pada smartphone masing-masing. Simpulan: Berdasarkan hasil pelatihan tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa aplikasi SAC mudah untuk digunakan dan dioperasikan sebagai rujukan untuk pembuatan media pembelajaran aplikasi andorid, untuk itu disarankan kepada para guru untuk dapat memanfaatkan aplikasi SAC sebagai sarana untuk berinovasi di dalam pembelajaran dengan membuat media pembelajaran yang inovatif.
