Abstract

ABSTRACT Smoking contributes to the risk of developing non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), coronary heart disease (CHD), and stroke. In 2023, Indonesia had approximately 70 million active smokers, with 56.5% aged 15–19 years. Smoking cessation is difficult due to nicotine dependence. Although smoking cessation services (Upaya Berhenti Merokok/UBM) are provided free of charge at primary health centers (Puskesmas), their utilization remains low, indicating barriers at both individual and health system levels. This study aims to identify factors influencing the utilization of smoking cessation services at primary health centers. A literature review was conducted using electronic databases, particularly Google Scholar, covering publications from 2020 to 2025. The search employed the keyword “utilization of smoking cessation services at primary health centers.”The findings indicate that smoking cessation services at primary health centers face multiple challenges. Factors influencing utilization include individual motivation, knowledge of smoking risks, social support, the role of health workers, and satisfaction with health services. The utilization of smoking cessation services is strongly influenced by a combination of individual, social, and health system factors. Strengthening health worker involvement, enhancing public awareness, and improving service quality are essential to increase service utilization at primary health centers. Keywords: Smoking Cessation, Primary Health Centers, Health Workers, Motivation, Service Utilization.

Abstract

Nutritional deficiencies in pregnant women, such as anemia and KEK, are serious public health issues that can lead to complications such as low birth weight and premature birth. To address this problem, the WHO recommends MMS as an alternative or supplement to iron and folic acid supplements, as MMS contains a combination of 15 essential vitamins and minerals, making it a more comprehensive intervention. Although Indonesia has gradually launched the MMS program since 2024, the level of compliance with supplement consumption is still low, influenced by a lack of knowledge, cultural values, and discomfort such as taste and tablet size. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence MMS consumption compliance using the Health Belief Model and Theory of Planned Behavior frameworks. The research method used is a literature review by searching national and international journals published between 2020 and 2025 with the keyword "Adherence with Multiple Micronutrient Supplement (MMS) Consumption by Pregnant Women." Compliance is greatly influenced by a combination of psychological and contextual factors. The initial data consisted of 207 journals, then analyzed according to the characteristics and 10 suitable articles were found. The literature review was conducted narratively by searching for scientific articles from databases relevant to the research topic, then analyzed descriptively and comparatively. According to the Health Belief Model, the main driver of compliance is the mother's belief, particularly her perception of the benefits; mothers believe that MMS provides real benefits. Meanwhile, the Theory of Planned Behavior highlight the role of perceived behavioral control, which is the mother's view of the ease of acting consistently.

Abstract

Drug logistics management is a crucial component of the healthcare system as it plays a role in ensuring the availability, quality, and accuracy of medications in healthcare facilities. Various issues such as drug shortages, procurement delays, and damaged or expired medications are still frequently encountered, necessitating a comprehensive study of the implementation of drug logistics management. This literature review aims to evaluate the implementation of drug logistics management based on previous research findings, covering planning, procurement, storage, distribution, and drug control. This study used a literature review method by searching articles through the PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar databases for the period 2021–2025. An initial collection of 30,042 articles was obtained. Articles were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 10 relevant articles for analysis. The articles were reviewed using thematic analysis, grouping the findings into key themes of drug logistics management. The study indicates that most healthcare facilities have implemented drug logistics management stages, including planning, procurement, storage, distribution, and recording and reporting. However, various obstacles remain, including planning that is not fully based on actual data, procurement delays, limited storage facilities and infrastructure, and weak monitoring and evaluation systems. Human resources and training also impact the performance of drug logistics management. The implementation of drug logistics management has been ongoing, but is not yet optimal. Human resource capacity building, infrastructure improvements, the use of integrated information systems, and ongoing evaluation are needed to make drug logistics management more effective and efficient.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem in toddlers influenced by various family factors. Maternal knowledge, parenting styles, and family income are thought to play a significant role in stunting. This study aims to synthesize scientific evidence regarding the relationship between these three factors and stunting in toddlers. This literature review analyzed case control articles published between 2022–2026 from PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar based on inclusion criteria. The keywords used in the literature search for English-language journals included "health workers," "performance," "rewards," "leadership," "work skills," and "work environment." These keywords were combined using the Boolean operators AND and OR to obtain articles relevant to the research topic. The search was performed using the format "health workers" AND "performance" AND ("rewards" OR "leadership" OR "work skills" OR "work environment"). Meanwhile, similar keywords were used in national journals, namely "health workers," "performance," "rewards/awards," "leadership," "work skills," and "work environment," which were also combined using the Boolean operators AND and OR to broaden and focus the search results according to the research objectives. From 33,754 then narrowed down using keywords, 14 research articles were obtained. Fourteen articles were systematically reviewed. Most studies reported that low maternal knowledge increased stunting risk through inappropriate feeding practices, poor hygiene, and limited use of health services. Inadequate parenting practices significantly elevated stunting risk, particularly related to feeding, childcare, and growth monitoring. Low family income was also identified as a strong determinant because it affects the ability to provide nutritious food, proper sanitation, and access to healthcare. Some studies found no significant association due to other dominant variables such as maternal education and birth weight. These findings emphasize the importance of nutrition education for families alongside community health support delivered consistently through integrated programs at primary healthcare level and household environments sustainably and collaboratively across sectors locally. Knowledge, parenting, and income are interconnected factors influencing stunting, requiring comprehensive interventions.
