Abstract

The rapid development of science and technology has led to globalization in various aspects of life. In the era of growing technological innovation, the phenomenon of social media influencers has emerged, which has a significant ability to influence public opinion. Influencers are individuals who have the ability to influence the behavior of their followers through the content they share on social media. This study aims to determine the level of student satisfaction with promotions carried out by influencers, find out how much influence influencers have on student decision making, and find out what social media platforms students use. This study uses a quantitative approach through distributing questionnaires to state administration students. The results of the study are expected to provide an overview of how State Administration students respond to the influencer phenomenon on various social media platforms. This research provides insight into consumer behavior, especially students who are active in using social media, and shows the importance of influencer-based marketing strategies in influencing purchasing decisions. Influencers have the power to shape opinions and preferences of young consumers, especially among university students. The results of this study can be utilized by industry players to design more effective and relevant marketing strategies in the digital era. However, there are some limitations in this study, such as the use of online questionnaires that limit direct interaction with respondents. This is in line with the findings of previous studies which state that limitations in online data collection methods can reduce the depth of information obtained and less reflect the overall psychological condition of respondents.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the participation of first-time voters in the regional head elections in Magelang City using a quantitative approach. The main objective is to explore the motivations, political awareness, role of political socialization, and the challenges faced by young voters in exercising their voting rights. Data were collected through questionnaire surveys and literature reviews of political socialization activities conducted by educational institutions, social media, and electoral bodies. The findings reveal that the majority of first-time voters possess a strong normative awareness of the importance of participating in elections. However, obstacles such as low political literacy, limited access to credible information, and skepticism toward political processes remain significant challenges. Political socialization, particularly through schools and social media, plays a vital role in shaping the perceptions and motivations of the younger generation. This study recommends the implementation of collaborative and continuous strategies that involve schools, electoral institutions, and community leaders to improve the quality of political participation among first-time voters. Strengthening this engagement is essential to building a more inclusive, empowered, and participatory local democracy.

Abstract

The political participation of first-time voters is a crucial element in the consolidation of democracy in Indonesia, especially in the context of the 2024 General Election. This study aims to analyze the level of participation of first-time voters in the presidential election at Universitas Tidar, identify the influencing factors, and explore effective strategies to enhance it. The research employs a quantitative method using a survey approach with 40 student respondents classified as first-time voters. The findings indicate that participation is influenced by internal factors such as understanding of political issues and political efficacy, as well as external factors like government-led socialization efforts and media influence. Most respondents reported understanding the election procedures and believed that participation in elections represents a civic responsibility. However, challenges remain in increasing participation, particularly in delivering accessible and engaging political information for the younger generation. Strategies to boost participation must consider digital media preferences, engagement with relevant social issues, and the need for continuous political education. The study also highlights the importance of synergy between the government, election organizers, political parties, and civil society organizations in designing innovative, inclusive, and youth-oriented voter engagement programs. These findings are expected to provide practical contributions to improving democratic quality in Indonesia by encouraging the political involvement of younger citizens.

Abstract

This study aims to assess visitor satisfaction with the sports facilities at GOR Samapta in Magelang City by examining four key aspects: facility adequacy, accessibility, comfort, and safety. Public sports facilities play a vital role in promoting healthy lifestyles and reflect the quality of public services provided by local governments. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using a closed-ended questionnaire distributed to 85 randomly selected respondents. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with the help of SPSS software. The findings indicate a high level of visitor satisfaction with the services and facilities provided at GOR Samapta. Approximately 63.5% of respondents agreed that the available facilities met their needs, while 55.3% stated that the sports equipment was in good condition. Additionally, 68.2% rated the road access to the facility as good, and 57.6% agreed that it was easily accessible by public transportation. In terms of comfort, 69.4% of visitors found the environment pleasant, supported by good air circulation. Moreover, 65.9% of respondents felt safe while engaging in activities at the facility. This study recommends that local governments and facility managers maintain and enhance the quality of services and infrastructure to sustain and improve public satisfaction. Future research is suggested to adopt a longitudinal or qualitative approach to explore psychological and motivational factors influencing visitor satisfaction and engagement more deeply.

Abstract

The participation of senior and vocational high school (SMA/SMK) students in pursuing higher education in the Magelang region still shows disparities, despite the availability of various government assistance programs. This phenomenon indicates the presence of specific factors influencing students' decisions to continue their studies. This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that influence the interest of SMA/SMK students in Magelang in pursuing higher education. A descriptive quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed. The sample consisted of 50 twelfth-grade students from five randomly selected schools. The research instrument was a closed-ended questionnaire based on a Likert scale, covering four independent variables: parental support, intrinsic motivation, access to higher education information, and academic readiness. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation tests. The findings reveal that all variables have a positive and significant correlation with students’ interest in pursuing higher education, with intrinsic motivation emerging as the most dominant factor. Parental support—both moral and financial—as well as access to digital information also contributed significantly to shaping students' interests. Academic readiness played an important role in enhancing students’ confidence to continue their studies. This study concludes that students’ interest in pursuing higher education is influenced by the interaction between internal and external factors. Therefore, synergy among schools, families, and the government is needed to strengthen career guidance services and ensure equitable access to information, as strategic efforts to increase higher education participation among SMA/SMK graduates in Magelang.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the understanding of Tidar University students regarding the self-branding strategy employed by Prabowo Subianto as a prominent national political figure. Self-branding is defined as a conscious and deliberate process of shaping a strong personal image through various communication channels, both direct and mediated via digital platforms. The study adopts a quantitative approach using a survey method, with a closed-ended questionnaire distributed randomly to 100 student respondents. The instrument is constructed based on four key indicators of self-branding: verbal communication, visual representation, social media usage, and the portrayal of leadership qualities. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques through SPSS software. The findings reveal that the majority of respondents perceived Prabowo’s self-branding efforts positively, particularly in terms of his assertive speech style that reflects a strong and charismatic personality. However, perceptions of his digital media image consistency varied among students, suggesting challenges in maintaining coherent messaging across platforms. Overall, the study concludes that Prabowo's self-branding strategy is effective in creating a robust public image among the student demographic. These findings contribute to the broader discourse in political communication studies, particularly regarding how public figures shape and maintain their personal brand in a rapidly evolving digital information landscape where perceptions can shift quickly due to media influence and social discourse.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the level of satisfaction among students at Tidar University regarding the services provided by the Student Cooperative (Kopma), which plays a crucial role in meeting students' daily needs and serves as a platform for developing entrepreneurial skills. The methodology employed in this study is quantitative, with data collection conducted through the distribution of questionnaires to a number of students from various faculties. The satisfaction assessment refers to the five dimensions of SERVQUAL, namely assurance, reliability, tangibility, empathy, and responsiveness. The analysis results indicate that, in general, students feel 'satisfied' with the services of Kopma, particularly in the aspects of assurance, reliability, tangibility, and empathy, with satisfaction levels ranging from 61% to 76%. These aspects reflect the students' trust in the cooperative's ability to provide reliable services, good physical appearance, and the professionalism and care of the staff. However, there are several indicators that received a 'fairly satisfied' rating, such as issues related to security and cleanliness in the cooperative area, the quality of the goods offered, and the speed and effectiveness in handling complaints and suggestions from students. These findings suggest that the level of student satisfaction has a positive relationship with their loyalty to the cooperative. Students who feel satisfied are more likely to return to use the services and recommend them to their peers. Therefore, the cooperative management needs to conduct regular evaluations and continuously improve service quality to create a better experience, enhance customer loyalty, and support the sustainability and development of the student cooperative within the Tidar University environment.

Abstract

The digital era has significantly transformed how university students access and manage academic information, with social media becoming an increasingly dominant platform. This study aims to examine the relationship between the frequency of social media usage and students’ academic achievement. Adopting a quantitative approach, the research utilized a survey method involving 100 students from various study programs selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire measuring the intensity of social media use (Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, and Facebook) alongside students' Grade Point Average (GPA) as an academic performance indicator. The Pearson correlation test was employed to analyze the relationship between variables. Findings reveal a statistically significant correlation between social media usage and academic achievement, with the strength and direction of the relationship varying depending on the platform and usage intensity. Moderately directed use of social media contributes positively to information access and collaborative learning, while excessive use negatively impacts concentration and academic outcomes. This study underscores the importance of promoting digital literacy and effective time management among students. The results suggest the need for adaptive, technology-integrated learning strategies and institutional policies that support the positive integration of digital platforms into educational practices. These insights offer valuable contributions to the discourse on optimizing digital behavior for academic success in higher education.
