A family is the first place that impacts various elements of children's growth and development, especially their social growth. Procedures and conditions in the family are suitable environments for social children. Purposing to analyze the role of Muslim parents of the Minahasa Tribe in Tomohon, Manado, Indonesia, in educating children's morals in Islamic minority communities with a local cultural approach, this research uses phenomenological study methods with a qualitative approach. Researchers found that local culture-based moral education in the formation of children's character/morals in Tomohon became one of the concerns of more than the government and even the community and parents to be able to maintain and preserve a valuable character education process from ancient times so that the current generation can understand the value of manners, mutual respect, respect for parents is critical to forming attitudes and moral. Moral education based on local cultural values in the formation of children's character/morals in Tomohon has a very drastic value from parents past and present to educate their children. It makes children open to each other; they consider their parents as friends when discussing problems in the family.

The collection of research data was carried out In the first stage, the selection of the location of the orphanage and the identification of the main participants, caretakers, foster parents, and musrifah. Data collection was conducted through three main methods: in-depth interviews, observation, and analysis of documents such as caregiver diaries and child development reports. The next stage is the data coding process, where the collected data is transcribed and encoded thematically. Each data segment is categorized based on indicators of compassion, such as emotional attention, psychological support, positive interactions, and fulfillment of basic needs. Next, thematic analysis is conducted to find patterns and relationships between themes. These findings were verified through data triangulation by comparing results from interviews, observations, and document analysis. This process ensures consistency and increases the validity of findings at the final stage, interpretation, and conclusion. The thematic analysis results were interpreted to assess the effectiveness of compassion education in orphanages. The conclusion shows that children who still struggle to obey the rules and daily activities in the orphanage have successfully implemented compassion education. There needs to be a more comprehensive understanding of foster parents so that children in orphanages can grow up psychologically healthy.

Abstract

Islamic-based learning environments play a crucial role in developing children's multiple intelligences by integrating Islamic values in physical, social, and spiritual aspects. This study examines the correlation between Islamic learning environments and the development of children's multiple intelligences based on Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences. Using a qualitative approach with a literature review method, this study analyzed various academic sources that discuss Islamic educational environments and their influence on children's cognitive, social, and emotional aspects. The results of the study indicate that Islamic learning environments that emphasize the principles of tauhid, tarbiyah, adab, ta'lim, and fitrah are able to create a conducive atmosphere to optimize various intelligences, including linguistic, logical-mathematical, visual-spatial, musical, kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic. Educational approaches such as memorizing the Qur'an, discussion-based learning, and integrating science and Islam have proven effective in increasing children's intelligence potential. In addition, the application of adab in social interactions and the formation of Islamic character contribute to increasing interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence. In the era of globalization and digitalization, the challenge of maintaining a balance between tradition and modernity is important. Therefore, this study highlights the urgency of utilizing technology that remains in line with Islamic values to enrich the learning experience. The implications of this study provide insight for educators, parents, and policy makers in designing a holistic educational environment, not only academically oriented, but also forming Islamic character and improving children's intelligence as a whole.

Abstract

The phenomenon of workers looking for work in big cities or abroad is rife in Indonesia, also known as migration. So workers care for their children by entrusting them to their grandparents at home. This study explores the upbringing of grandparents who are considered to have failed in nurturing their grandchildren in Puring District, Kebumen. The method used is a phenomenological study with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using observation, in-depth interviews with three grandmothers, and analysis phenomenologically reductive. The results of this study indicate that residents of Puring District, Kebumen are one of the areas where residents migrate as laborers. The care for the children of migrating workers is passed on to grandmothers at home without any parenting knowledge. The failure of parenting grandparents is caused by a form of parenting based on fear, ignorance/neglect, and parenting without exemplar, resulting in the behavior of grandchildren who are lazy, spoiled, rarely worship, rude speech style, and promiscuity

Research data was obtained from the distribution of the Scales of Psychological Well-being (SPWB), The Centrality of Religious Scale (CRS), The Parenting Scale (PS), and The Comfort Scale (CS). Research data was analyzed using a simple regression approach. The research results show that religiosity, parenting style, and conformity are proven to influence the psychological well-being of students with single parents. The religiosity variable contributed an influence of 28%, parenting style 25.3%, and conformity 32.6%; in other words, the conformity variable had the most significant influence compared to the religiosity and parenting variables.
