Abstract

The selection of a catalyst is imperative in extracting silica. Calcium is a heterogeneous base catalyst that is abundant in carbonate rocks. This study attempts to extract silica using an artificial carbonate solvent with variations of strong acid HCl (1 M, 3 M, 5 M), NaCl salt (1: 2, 1: 4) w/w ratio to distilled water, and H2O (1: 4) w/w ratio to carbonate. Characteristics of fly ash were analyzed using XRF and XRD to determine the elemental composition, crystal structure, and dominant constituent compounds. The solvent concentration and pH effect in extracting silica from fly ash is reviewed by setting the temperature parameter at 60 C, 120 minutes extraction time, and the ratio between fly ash and carbonate solvent 20 % w/v. The filtrate was verified using UV-Vis to determine the concentration of dissolved silica (SiO2) in the carbonate solvent. The examination results showed that the carbonate solvent with 3 M HCl was able to extract silica better than the other five solvents at 68.17 ppm.

Abstract

Briket biomassa adalah alternatif yang menjanjikan untuk menggantikan bahan bakar fosil dalam upaya mengurangi emisi gas rumah kaca. Pada penelitian Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh komposisi bahan baku limbah pertanian terhadap nilai kadar air dan laju pembakaran. Dalam penelitian ini, tempurung kelapa, sabut kelapa dan ampas tebu digunakan sebagai bahan baku pembuatan biobriket. Metode pencampuran digunakan untuk menghasilkan biobriket biomassa dengan komposisi yang berbeda sehingga diperoleh pengaruh komposisi bahan baku terhadap kadar air dan laju pembakaran. Dengan variabel perbandingan arang tempurung kelapa dan sabut kelapa yaitu 15:15, 10:20, 20:10 kemudian variabel perbandingan arang tempurung kelapa dengan ampas tebu yaitu 15:15, 10:20, 20:10 dalam 10 gr perekat tepung tapioka pada masing-masing percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tempurung kelapa, sabut kelapa dan ampas tebu dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan baku yang efektif untuk biobriket biomassa. Sehingga dapat berpotensi sebagai energi yang berkelanjutan. Pada Penelitian ini kualitas biobriket yang tinggi adalah nilai kadar air terendah dan nilai laju pembakaran yang tinggi terdapat pada percobaan ke- 2 dengan komposisi bahan baku tempurung kelapa dan sabut kelapa adalah 10 gram: 20 gram. Kemudian nilai kadar air sangat berpengaruh terhadap nilai laju pembakaran, semakin tinggi nilai kadar air, maka nilai laju pembakaran semakin rendah. Penelitian lanjutan diperlukan untuk mengoptimalkan kondisi briket dan mempertimbangkan aspek ekonomi serta dampak lingkungannya

Abstract

Mercury (Hg) is a highly toxic heavy metal with no biological benefits, posing significant environmental and health risks upon exposure. This study investigates the adsorption characteristics of chicken eggshell-derived adsorbents for the removal of Hg from aqueous solutions. The adsorbent preparation involved washing, drying, calcination, and KOH activation. Results indicated that the 170-mesh size adsorbent exhibited the highest adsorption efficiency, achieving a 99.70% removal rate of Hg. adsorption capacity tests revealed values ranging from 79,90 to 88,90 mg/g, conforming to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) for activated carbon. Functional group analysis using Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) identified a significant increase in aldehyde and ketone groups post-activation. The adsorption process reached equilibrium within 90 minutes, with optimal removal efficiency observed at an initial Hg concentration of 3,0 mg/L. These findings suggest that chicken eggshell-based adsorbents are a cost-effective and efficient solution for mitigating Hg contamination in wastewater, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional methods.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Since the Covid-19 pandemic took place worldwide, distance learning has replaced traditional face-to-face learning in the classroom. Therefore, it is necessary to innovate learning media that can support the student learning process. The learning media innovation carried out in this study was making a video on the practice of making MPASI. Methods: Evaluation of learning media using a questionnaire given to media experts, material experts, and users (students). Results: There were two media experts, two material experts, and 35 users (students) who were respondents to this study. All media experts agree that learning media can be used, but one media expert still suggests revisions for the future. All material experts agree that learning media can be used without revision. All users (students) agree that learning media can be used, but 12 users (34.3%) suggest revisions to learning media for the future. Conclusion: The current learning media can be used, but it still requires a slight improvement in the future. Keywords: Learning media innovation, MPASI, Covid-19 ABSTRAK Latar belakang: Sejak terjadinya pandemi covid-19 yang berlangsung diseluruh dunia, pembelajaran jarak jauh telah menggantikan pembelajaran tatap muka tradional di dalam kelas. Oleh karenanya diperlukan inovasi media pembelajaran yang dapat menunjang proses pembelajaran mahasiswa. Inovasi media pembelajaran yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah pembuatan video praktek pembuatan MPASI. Metode: Untuk mengevaluasi media pembelajaran digunakan kuesioner yang diberikan kepada ahli media, ahli materi dan pengguna (mahasiswa). Hasil: Terdapat 2 orang ahli media, 2 orang ahli materi dan 35 orang pengguna (mahasiswa) yang menjadi responden dalam penelitian ini. Semua ahli media setuju bahwa media pembelajaran sudah dapat digunakan, namun salah satu ahli media masih menyarankan adanya revisi untuk kedepannya. Semua ahli materi telah setuju bahwa media pembelajaran sudah dapat digunakan tanpa revisi. Semua pengguna (mahasiswa) setuju bahwa media pembelajaran sudah dapat digunakan, namun terdapat 12 orang (34,3%) pengguna (mahasiswa) yang menyarankan adanya revisi media pembelajaran untuk kedepannya. Kesimpulan: Media pembelajaran saat ini telah dapat dipergunakan, namun masih memerlukan sedikit perbaikan untuk kedepannya. Kata Kunci: Inovasi media pembelajaran, MPASI, Covid-19

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Honey contains heterogeneous substances that inhibit the growth of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It has an anti-inflammatory effect and enhances the healing process after peritoneal damage. Honey, given intraperitoneally, as much as 34% will be absorbed into the systemic circulation and metabolized by the liver. Methods: Paraffin blocks of rat liver organs weighing 200 grams were divided into four groups. Group A was the control group; Group B was given 3 ml of NaCl; Group C was given 0.27 ml of honey intraperitoneally; and Group D was given 0.54 ml of honey intraperitoneally. Histological examination of liver preparations with 40x and 100x magnification microscope. Results: The study showed changes in cell structure in the form of bleeding, portal inflammation, inface hepatitis, lobular inflammation and vacuolization in all treatment groups. Conclusion: Damage to hepatocyte cells in the form of bleeding, portal inflammation, inface hepatitis, lobular inflammation and vacuolization with observations of all fields of view was found in all treatments, namely giving honey at a dose of 0.27 ml, 0.54 ml honey, given 0.9% NaCl 3 ml and the control group. Keywords: Honey, Liver, Anti adhesi ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Madu mengandung zat heterogen menghambat tumbuhnya bakteri gram positif dan gram negatif, memiliki efek antiinflamasi, dan meningkatkan proses penyembuhan setelah kerusakan peritoneal. Madu yang diberikan secara intraperitoneal, sebanyak 34% akan diserap ke dalam sirkulasi sistemik dan dimetabolisme oleh hepar. Metode: Blok paraffin organ hepar tikus dengan berat 200 gram yang dibagi 4 kelompok. Kelompok A kelompok kontrol, kelompok B diberikan NaCl 3 ml, kelompok C diberikan madu 0,27 ml intraperitoneal, kelompok D diberikan madu 0,54 ml intraperitoneal. Pemeriksaan histologi preparat hepar dengan mikroskop pembesaran 40x dan 100x. Hasil: Hasil dari penelitian terdapat perubahan struktur sel berupa perdarahan ,portal inflamasi, inface hepatitis, lobular inflamasi dan vakuolisasi pada semua kelompok perlakuan. Kesimpulan: Kerusakan sel hepatosit berupa perdarahan, portal inflamasi , inface hepatitis, lobular inflamasi dan vakuolisasi dengan pengamatan seluruh lapangan pandang didapatkan pada semua perlakuan yaitu pemberian madu dosis 0,27ml ,madu 0,54ml, diberikan NaCl 0,9% 3 ml dan kelompok kontrol. Abstract

This study examines Ahmad Syafii Maarif’s (commonly known as Buya Syafii Maarif) views on gender equality, highlighting the distinctive aspects of his interpretation of religious texts, particularly regarding family and societal roles. Using a descriptive-critical methodology, the study reveals that Buya Syafii Maarif’s views on gender equality within the family emphasize justice, fairness, and respect for women’s rights, all rooted in Islamic principles. He argues that a correct interpretation of Islam supports equality between men and women, including within family relationships. A central aspect of his thinking is the concept of complementary roles between men and women, rejecting the idea of gender-based superiority. He critiques traditional views that confine women’s roles to the domestic sphere and advocates for greater female participation in decision-making and social contributions. Buya Syafii Maarif also challenges interpretations of religious texts that have historically justified gender inequality, asserting that the Qur’an promotes respect and cooperation between the genders. Education plays a key role in his vision, as he emphasizes its transformative power in empowering women to make significant contributions to both family and society. He advocates for equal opportunities for women in education and public life to foster a just and prosperous society. This study demonstrates that Buya Syafii Maarif's vision of gender equality reflects a balanced and just understanding of Islam, one that encourages cooperation and equality to achieve harmony in both the family and society.

Abstract

Paying zakat to those who can afford it is a religious way to prevent wealth from accumulating only for certain people. Many zakat institutions have problems in collecting and distributing it. In response, some muzakki (zakat payers) have chosen to directly distribute zakat to mustahiq (eligible recipients). This study aims to explore the phenomenon of direct zakat distribution within the context of Hablum Minallah (relationship with Allah) and Hablum Minannas (relationship with fellow humans) and to examine its implications for zakat institutions. The research method used in this study is a literature review, gathering relevant references on the topic. The study focuses on direct zakat distributed to the community and on zakat institutions operating in Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra. The findings of this study suggest that direct zakat distribution within the context of Hablum Minallah and Hablum Minannas not only serves as an expression of devotion to Allah but also fosters greater connection and care between muzakki and the surrounding community receiving zakat. Additionally, the study examines the implications of direct zakat on zakat institutions, recommending that these institutions develop more concrete programs and engage in stronger collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.

Abstract

Abstrak. Generasi milenial cenderung mengadopsi teknologi pertanian maju dibandingkan dengan generasi sebelumnya. Akan tetapi belum banyak yang  tertarik dan mengadopsi pertanian modern karena tantangan biaya investasi yang tinggi. Pada dasarkan faktor tersebut berhubungan dengan kesejahteraan petani sehingga penting untuk dilakukan sebuah penelitian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesejahteraan petani muslim milenial di Indonesia. Studi ini memberikan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kesejahteraan petani muslim milenial, serta memberikan landasan untuk kebijakan dan praktik pertanian yang berkelanjutan dan inovatif. Analisis menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM PLS). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa digitalisasi pemasaran, ketersediaan infrastruktur, dan teknologi pertanian berkontribusi secara positif dan signifikan terhadap kesejahteraan petani muslim milenial. Digitalisasi pemasaran memungkinkan akses ke pasar yang lebih luas dan peningkatan margin keuntungan. Infrastruktur yang baik memfasilitasi distribusi hasil pertanian dan meningkatkan akses ke pasar, sedangkan teknologi pertanian modern meningkatkan efisiensi dan produktivitas pertanian. Abstract. Millennials tend to adopt advanced agricultural technology more readily compared to previous generations. However, there are still relatively few who are interested in and embrace modern farming practices due to the challenges posed by high investment costs. Fundamentally, this issue is closely related to farmers' welfare, making it crucial to conduct research on the matter. This study aims to determine how the welfare of millennial muslim farmers in Indonesia. This study provides an in-depth understanding of the factors that influence millennial farmers' welfare, as well as providing a foundation for sustainable and innovative agricultural policies and practices. Analysis was conducted using SEM PLS. The results of the analysis show that marketing digitalization, infrastructure availability, and agricultural technology contribute positively and significantly to the welfare of millennial muslim farmers. Marketing digitalization allows access to wider markets and increased profit margins. Good infrastructure facilitates the distribution of agricultural products and improves access to markets, while modern agricultural technology improves farming efficiency and productivity.

Abstract

Wives who work outside the home have two roles that must be carried out, namely domestic roles and public roles. The increasing need for the household makes a wife work in the informal sector, because it does not require higher education, does not require special conditions, is not tied to a certain time or agency. One of the types of jobs that do not require higher education is working as a domestic assistant. This study aims to find out how the role of wives in family economic income in Alah Air Village. This study uses qualitative research methods. The theory used is Role Theory. The data in this study was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Two techniques for determining subjects, namely deliberately (purposive) and (snowball) are used in this study. The subjects in this study are five domestic assistants. The results of research that have been carried out show that the role of wives who work outside the home as domestic assistants is due to several factors: increasing economic levels and low incomes, and irregular husbands' income because the husband also works in the informal sector such as: barbers, construction workers and freelance day laborers. Their education level, which is only limited to the junior and senior high school level, does not have many options other than working in the informal sector such as becoming a domestic assistant. By working outside the home, the wife has a dual role, but it is not a problem for them the wife can divide the time between being a wife and a mother at home and must work outside the home well. This job is a part-time job that only uses 2-4 hours of working time. The income of the wife working as a domestic assistant can help increase the family's economic income.

Abstract

The challenges faced by higher education institutions have intensified with the increasing popularity of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Technological advancements have replaced certain types of jobs and influenced the labor market. Consequently, lecturers must adopt new innovations and approaches in education to develop and enhance students' soft skills. The Mini Seminar is a presentation-based learning model designed with a simple concept. The objective of this activity is to achieve course learning outcomes (CPMK) more optimally while honing students' soft skills. The implementation of the activity consists of preparation, execution, and evaluation stages. The approach used in this activity is Participatory Action Research (PAR). The results of the questionnaire indicate that the Mini Seminar improves the quality of learning and student motivation. Therefore, this activity effectively hones students' soft skills and optimally achieves course learning outcomes. Tantangan perguruan tinggi semakin besar semenjak teknologi artificial intelligence (AI) semakin popular. Kemajuan teknologi telah menggantikan beberapa jenis pekerjaan dan mempengaruhi pasar tenaga kerja. Inovasi dan pendekatan baru harus dilakukan oleh Dosen dalam melaksanakan Pendidikan agar mampu mengasah dan membentuk soft skills. Mini Seminar adalah model pembelajaran presentasi yang dikemas dengan konsep yang sederhana. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah mewujudkan capaian pembelajaran mata kuliah (CPMK) secara lebih optimal sekaligus mengasah soft skill mahasiswa. Pelaksanaan kegiatan terdiri dari tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR). Hasil kuisioner menunjukkan mini seminar meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan motivasi mahasiswa. Sehingga kegiatan ini mampu mengasah soft skill mahasiswa dan mewujudkan capaian pembelajaran mata kuliah secara optimal.
