Abstract

The potential of sweet potatoes in Dopang Village, West Lombok Regency is quite abundant, especially the type of purple sweet potato. In addition to its good health benefits, the existence of purple sweet potato also has high economic potential. Processing of purple sweet potatoes into more valuable products in Dopang Village is still considered lacking. Based on observations, the processing of purple sweet potatoes in the surrounding community is only in the form of snacks or chips. Therefore, this activity aims to develop processed products made from purple sweet potatoes into products in the form of sweet potato milk (Violatte) in the hope of increasing the economy of the local community. This activity is carried out in 4 (four) stages, namely; (1) product manufacturing experiment, (2) product improvement, (3) product socialization to the public, and (4) product marketing. The activity is carried out for approximately 1.5 months from November 22, 2021 - January 6, 2022. The location of the activity is in Dopang Tengah Hamlet, Dopang Village, Gunungsari, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Each stage of this activity, starting from product manufacturing trials, product improvement stages, socialization stages and product marketing stages has been carried out and is running well.

Abstract

Training on optimizing the use of Science Kits for teachers of SD Negeri 1 Cakranegara has been carried out offline. This training activity aims to train and improve understanding and knowledge using the Science Kit in the learning process so as to improve mastery of science concepts. The methods used are lecture, simulation, and mentoring methods, and at the end of the activity an evaluation is carried out. The expected outcome is that teachers can use the Science Kit in the learning process in the classroom. The results of the activity show that this training activity can increase the knowledge of teachers in assembling and skills using the Elementary Science Kit, so that it has implications for increasing mastery of the concept of science through experiments

Abstract

Misconception is one of the important problems that often arise in education. The objective of this study is identify misconceptions in the subject of Electricty that occur in prospective teachers. The method used in this research is descriptive method. A total of 25 pre-service physics teacher candidates at a university in the Mataram City were involved in this study. The instrument used in this study was a three-tier test. This study use a total of 40 test items. These questions are classified into two types of representation, namely; verbal and figural. The results showed that 88.1% of prospective physics teachers had misconceptions on Kirchoff's first law, 94.8% misconceptions on Kichoff's second law concept, 91.7% misconceptions on Ohm's Law concept and 85.9% on electrical sources concepts. The results of the study show that 72.3% of prospective physics teachers had misconceptions on verbal type questions and 84.2% misconceptions on figural types

Abstract

Salah satu masalah yang sering dijumpai dalam dunia pendidikan khusunya pada mata pelajaran fisika adalah adanya miskonsepsi pada siswa atau mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji sejauh mana efektivitas penggunaan paradigma gaya gesek sebagai gaya reaksi dalam mereduksi miskonsepsi mahasiswa calon guru fisika. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Sampel terdiri dari 27 mahasiswa calon guru fisika di salah satu universitas yang ada di kota Mataram.  Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian berupa tes tiga tingkat. Sebanyak 10 item soal dengan 30 buah pertanyaan digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Tes dilakukan sebanyak dua kali yaitu sebelum dan setelah perlakuan. Data hasil tes kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif untuk mengetahui persentase jumlah mahasiswa yang paham konsep, miskonsepsi, atau tidak paham konsep. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan presentase jumlah mahasiswa yang paham konsep yang diikuti dengan berkurangnya mahasiswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi dan tidak paham konsep khususnya dalam menentukan jenis, arah, dan besar gaya gesek yang bekerja pada suatu benda. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan paradigma gaya gesek sebagai gaya reaksi dapan digunakan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan mereduksi miskonsepsi mahasisw khususnya pada materi gaya gesek.

Abstract

Rendahnya pemahaman konsep calon guru fisika terutama mereka yang baru menempuh pendidikan di level perguruan tinggi nampaknya perlu menjadi perhatian khusus bagi dosen yang mengajar di kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahan konsep calon guru fisika melalui pendekatan multipel representasi berbantuan E-modul. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pre-eksperimental dengan one group pretest-posttest desain. Sampel terdiri dari 23 calon guru fisika di salah satu universitas yang ada di kota Mataram.  Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian berupa tes pemahan konsep dalam bentuk pilihan ganda yang terdiri dari 20 buah pertanyaan. Tes dilakukan sebanyak dua kali yaitu sebelum dan setelah perlakuan. Data hasil tes kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan perhitungan N-Gain. Hasil analisis data memperlihatkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pemahan konsep calon guru fisika setelah diberi perlakuan dengan kategori sedang (N-Gain = 0,65). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan multipel representasi berbantuan E-modul dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep calon guru fisika khususnya pada materi kinematika gerak lurus, gerak vertikal, dan gerak parabola.

Abstract

Salah satu masalah yang sering kita temukan di sekolah khususnya pada mata pelajaran fisika adalah rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dengan menggunakan permainan tradisonal yang disajikan dalam bentuk video stop motion.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode  penelitian deskriptif. Sampel terdiri dari 39 siswa kelas X SMA. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dalam bentuk angket motivasi ARCS yang terdiri dari; Attention (perhatian), Relevance (Relevansi), Confidance (Percaya diri) dan Satifaction (kepuasan). Data motivasi belajar fisika siswa dianalisis melalui analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil analisis data memperlihatkan bahwa rata-rata peserta didik menyukai dan merasa termotivasi saat menggunakan media permainan tradisional kelereng dengan menggunakan video stop motion pada materi hukum kekekalan momentum dengan kategori sangat baik. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan permainan kelereng yang disajikan dalam bentuk video stop motion dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Creative problem solving skills are very important to well posted, either by scientists, employees, teachers, and other professions. A nation will be able to win the global competition if the nation has a creative problem solving skills. Therefore, creative problem solving skills need to be trained in schools. Observations results show that the creative problem solving skills still seems to be less attention so that profile less known. This research aim to determine profile of creative problem solving skills of students in particular the problem relatied to application concept of electric fields. The research method used is descriptive method. The subject of this research are 30 students at high school in Bandung regency. The research instrument is a test that device creative problem solving skills in essay form. Indicator mesured consist of four skill aspects are; fact finding, problems finding, idea finding, and solution finding. Data have analyzed by calculating the average score of all students have interpreted with the criteria that have been made by Brookhart. The results show that the creative problem solving skills of students is still relatively low, especially in problems finding, ideas finding, and solutions finding. Kata kunci: creative thinking skills, problem solving, electric fields.

Abstract

Baru-baru ini, Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi meluncurkan Kurikulum Prototipe. Salah satu pendekatan yang dipandang relevan dan sejalan dengan kurikulum Prototipe ini yaitu pembelajaran STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pelatihan penerapan pembelajaran STEM berbasis potensi lokal bagi guru-guru di SMPN 3 Batukliang. Kegiatan dilakukan pada tanggal 6 Agustus 2022 dan diikuti oleh 18 peserta yang merupakan guru-guru mata pelajaran di SMPN 3 Batukliang. Kegiatan dilakukan dalam 4 (empat) tahapan utama yaitu; (1) penyampaian materi, (2) demonstrasi, (3) praktek pengintegrasian STEM berbasis potensi lokal dalam pembelajaran, dan (4) tanggapan dan Evaluasi. Seluruh kegiatan berjalan dengan baik. Sebanyak 100% peserta menyatakan bahwa pelatihan ini memberi manfaat dan dapat menambah pemahaman tentang pendekatan pembelajaran STEM. Sebanyak 83,33% perseta meyakini bahwa dengan menerapkan pembelajaran STEM dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di kelas. Seluruh peserta berkeinginan untuk menerapkan pembelajaran STEM namun 72,22% dari peserta menyatakan ragu-ragu apakah mereka nantinya akan mengalami kesulitan atau hambatan pada saat menerapkan pendekatan STEM dalam pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

Gravity is a concept that is considered difficult for students and it is not uncommon for them to experience misconceptions about this concept. This study aims to analyze students' conceptions of the concept of gravity. The research was conducted at SMPN 1 Aikmel, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The sample consisted of 28 Class VIII students who were taken by simple random sampling technique. The instrument used is a standard test instrument used by TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) by selecting content about the concept of gravity. Research data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of the data analysis showed that only 32.14% of students were able to answer questions correctly. When compared with the average percentage of students at the international level for the same concept (Gravity), the number of students at SMPN 1 Aikmel is still below the international average (48.28%). This shows that the level of students' understanding of concepts at SMP 1 Aikmel is below the international average. This can be used as an illustration for teachers at SMPN 1 Aikmel and even for junior high school teachers in East Lombok Regency, considering that SMPN 1 Aikmel is the school with the second-highest National Exam (UN) scores in East Lombok.

Abstract

The current era of globalization and technology confronts humans with new challenges and increasingly complex problems. Mastery of concepts and creative thinking skills are two of several competencies that must be possessed by almost all professions at this time. This study aims to determine the extent of mastery of concepts and creative thinking skills of prospective physics teachers on dynamic electricity. This research is descriptive researcher. The population of this study was 60 prospective physics teachers who were studying at the University of Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The number of samples used was 28 students who were taken using a simple random sampling technique. The instrument consists of cognitive tests at levels C1-C3 in the form of multiple choice and tests of creative thinking skills in the form of real-world problems that are open-ended so that they can allow students to provide many solutions to the problems given. There are four aspects of creative thinking skills used in this study, namely; fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The research data showed that 85.71% of students were able to correctly answer C1 cognitive level questions (remembering), 67.86% of students were able to solve C2 cognitive level questions (understanding), and 60.71% of students were able to solve questions C3 cognitive level questions (applying). Furthermore, for creative thinking skills, the fluency aspect is in the Moderate category with a score of 1.86, and flexibility is in the Low category with a score of 1.14. For aspects of Originality and Elaboration, students are included in the non-creative category with a score of 0.18 and 0.56.
