Abstract

In the shipping industry, safety on board is one of the serious challenges that must be addressed due to the high risk of occupational accidents. PT X implements the HSSE Golden Rules, which consist of the principles of compliance, intervention, and care as a preventive measure to reduce the level of work accident.. This study aims to analyze the implementation of HSSE Golden Rules in reducing the level of work accidents on board PT X. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of interviews (through online forms) and documentation of unsafe action, unsafe condition, and nearmiss reports. The data analysis technique used is Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT) analysis. The result show that the HSSE Golden Rules are eable to reduce the level of work accidents on ships, as evidenced by the decrease in the number of unsafe action, unsafe condition, and nearmiss reports from 2023 to 2024. More structured reports that include corrective actions indicate the formation of a better reporting and prevention culture. It can be concluded that the implementation of HSSE Golden Rules is effective in forming a safety culture and can reduce the level of work accidents on PT X ships.

Abstract

Shipping companies ship agencies play an important role in representing the interests of ship owners in ports. In activities, the role of digital technology is very important to streamline and accelerate the process of managing ship crews and prospective crew documents to ensure safety, legal compliance, and smooth ship operations as necessary requirements during sailing. This study aims to determine the influence of Digital Technology in the Management of Crewchange Documents at Pt. Equinox Bahari Utama. The type of research used in this study is quantitative. This research was carried out at Sanur Port for 1 year. Pt. Equinox Bahari Utama. The population used in this study is employees of the Crewing Golar division and Cool Company Management USA, the crew of the ship who will make a crewchange with a sample of 45 respondents. The data sources in this study used primary and secondary data with data collection techniques, namely: questionnaires, observations, literature studies. The data analysis technique is the Simple Linear Regression test. The results of this study show that digital technology has a positive and significant influence on the management of crewchange documents at PT Equinox Bahari Utama. The magnitude of the positive influence of Digital Technology on the management of crewchange documents at PT Equinox Bahari Utama is 87%.

Abstract

The disproportionate growth between the transportation fleet and the infrastructure causes congestion, pollution, inconvenience and poor service. However, the high growth in transportation fleets managed by the private sector more than those managed by the government is not effective, on the other hand the government does not have enough funds to provide adequate public transportation facilities, so the concept of Allocation Cheap Sourcing is needed which is a collaboration between fleets managed by the private sector and the government. The method used in this study is Evidence based policy . The results of the study show that the effectiveness of collaboration can be in the form of partnerships and new forms of organization (NFO).

Abstract

Abstract

This research examines the potential for digital adoption, as manual crewing management in Indonesian shipping creates inefficiencies, errors and compliance risks; however, scant research exists on this issue in Indonesia. It investigates how a leading shipping company in Indonesia is using this cloud-based crewing app to manage crew data, orchestrate paperless operations and improve ramp efficiency. Purpose – To examine Mariapps implementation outcomes within the crewing management system at PT. Meratus Line Surabaya. Methodology – Qualitative descriptive design; data collected via semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation analysis from 15 purposively selected participants over two weeks in Surabaya. Findings – Mariapps reduced office visits by 91 percent, paper use by 87 percent, and eliminated certification compliance failures through centralised cloud-based crew data management. Originality – This study presents the first empirical investigation of Mariapps implementation within an Indonesian national shipping company, addressing a critical gap in maritime human resource management literature by providing evidence-based insights into digital crewing system adoption outcomes in a developing economy context.

Abstract

Indonesia's strategic ports face rising maritime threats like piracy and terrorism, necessitating effective ISPS Code implementation. This study analyzes the application of ISPS Code (X) and its impact on security effectiveness (Y) at the International Bulk Liquid (IBL) Terminal, Gresik Port. Employing a quantitative descriptive-explanatory approach, data were collected via Likert-scale questionnaires from 50 purposive respondents (security personnel, PFSO, operators) during January-June 2025, supported by observations and secondary documents. Instruments were validated (r-hitung > 0.235; sig. <0.05) and reliable (Cronbach's α X=0.848, Y=0.804), analyzed using simple linear regression in SPSS. Results show excellent ISPS implementation (mean 4.46) and security effectiveness (mean 4.68), with significant positive influence (t=11.852 > 1.677; sig=0.000; R²=0.745; Y=17.071+0.641X). In conclusion, ISPS Code substantially enhances port security, recommending intensified training and technology integration.
