Abstract

The rapid development of the era demands that the world of education also be involved. Because along with the development of the times, education must experience innovation and adapt to advances in technology and information to exist and maintain its quality. MOOC is a system that integrates education and technology. Through this system, learning is presented that is interesting, effective, and easily accessible to anyone. This survey research was conducted as a first step in developing MOOC-based e-learning for high school students. The benefit of this research is that we will get what students currently need in learning physics online based on MOOC. This requirement analysis is seen based on two indicators: analysis of learning problems and analysis of students. Based on the results of this study, it was found that there is a need for MOOC-based e-learning for high school students with a high category level. Thus, the steps that will be made after this are developing learning tools to meet these needs

Abstract

The learning media developed based on PowToon in global warming material for grade XI students high school. The purpose of this study was to design, analyze the feasibility, and assess the students responses to PowToon based learning media on global warming material. This type of research is a Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model design. The research instrument used was the PowToon media validation assessment sheet which was used by the validator to assess the feasibility of the learning media. Students also filled out a questionnaire to see the responses to the PowToon media developed. The learning media developed after being assessed and given suggestions by the validator are said to be feasible with the valid category. Based on the research results, it was obtained that the average validation of the four media aspects was 86% with the valid category. The average validation of content aspects, design aspects, pedagogical aspects, and ease aspects in media  use. As for the results of filling out the student questionnaire, the overall average was 83% with a good category. Where the average questionnaire motivation, learning outcomes, and scientific attitudes. Thus learning media based on PowToon is declared feasible with the valid category used as  a learning media.

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep merupakan komponen penting dalam pembelajaran IPA Tingkat pemahaman konsep dapat dijadikan ukuran keberhasil dalam pembelajaran tersebut. Pemilihan media pembelajaran dan pendekatan ketika melakukan pembelajar diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep jika menerapkan media pembelajaran Go-Lab melalui pendekatan inquiry. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian Quasi Experiment dengan rancangan posttest only nonequivalen group design. Subjek dari penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII A berjumlah 21 orang sebagai kelas kontrol dan siswa kelas VIII B berjumlah 21 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa posttest hasil pemahaman konsep materi getaran dan gelombang kelas VIII yang terdiri dari 11 soal pilihan ganda. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu teknik analisis data deskriptif kuantitatif melalui tingkat pemahaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep peserta didik setelah diterapkan pembelajaran menggunakan media Go-Lab melalui pendekatan inquiry pada materi getaran dan gelombang mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan

Abstract

Abstract: The ability to understand concepts of physics is an absolute requirement for the success of a physics lesson. The low understanding of physics concepts is a problem that must be resolved. One way that is considered to be able to overcome problems in the teaching and learning process is by applying multi-representation-based physics learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of multi-representation-based physics learning in increasing students' conceptual understanding of momentum and impulse material. The type of research used is quasi-experimental research with the Nonequivalent Post-test Control Group Design. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri Pintar Riau Province by using a concept understanding test on Momentum and Impulse material. The research sample was class X IPA 1 with a total of 25 people as the experimental class and class X IPA 2 with a total of 25 people as the control class. The instrument used in data collection was a test on the results of understanding the concept of momentum and impulse material for class X which consisted of 21 reasoned multiple choice questions. The data analysis used was descriptive analysis through the level of understanding of the concept and the effectiveness of learning and inferential analysis through the normality test, homogeneity test, and the Independent T-Test with the help of SPSS 20. The results showed that the understanding of the concepts of the experimental students and the control class was different, from the average score of the experimental class is higher than the control class. From this study, it can be concluded that multi-representation-based physics learning can improve students' understanding of the concept of momentum and impulse material in class X High School.Keywords: Learning Effectiviness, Multiple- representations, Concept Mastery

Abstract

Abstract : One of the problems faced in Indonesia is the weakness of the learning process where currently students are not encouraged to develop their thinking skills, and learning in class is only directed at memorizing information without being required to understand what they remember. One way that is considered to be able to overcome problems in the teaching and learning process is by applying the SQ3R cooperative model (survey, question, read, recite, review). This study aims to describe and find out the differences in students' mastery of concepts using the SQ3R cooperative model and conventional learning. The type of research used was a Quasi Experiment with a Posttest Only Design, namely using one experimental class and one control class. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The sample in this study were students of SMPN 6 Siak Hulu with class VII 4 as the experimental class and class VII 5 as the control class. The research data was collected by giving a test in the form of a posttest which totaled 10 questions which were analyzed descriptively and to see the increase in students' mastery of concepts using SPSS 23 as an inferential analysis. The results of the research from the descriptive and inferential analysis showed that there was a difference in the students' mastery of the concepts in the experimental class and the control class, the average score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class. It can be concluded from this study that the SQ3R cooperative model can improve students' mastery of concepts at SMPN 6 Siak Hulu.Keywords: Concept Mastery, SQ3R Cooperative model, Solar System.

Abstract

Abstract : Understanding is the level of ability expected by someone in understanding the meaning of the concept. Understanding the concept is a very important part in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to find out that the application of the predict-observe explain (poe) learning model can be an alternative solution to improve students' understanding of physics concepts. This study uses a quasi-experimental research method with a "posttest only control group design" research design. The affordable population is all students of class X MIA MAN 3 Pekanbaru in the 2021/2022 academic year, totaling 144 students. The sample in this study amounted to 72 students consisting of class X MIA 2 as the control class which amounted to 36 students and X MIA 3 as the experimental class which amounted to 36 students. The instrument used is a test of understanding the concept of Newton's Law material. This test refers to 7 indicators of concept understanding according to Widodo. The test questions consist of 21 multiple choice questions and 4 essay questions. After the test, the data on the results of students' understanding of the concept will be presented with descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. This descriptive analysis is seen through the absorption of students. In this inferential analysis using three tests with the help of SPSS version 24, namely normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis testing with non parametric Mann Whitney. The results showed that the experimental class students' conceptual understanding data by applying the POE learning model had a significant difference than the control class which only used conventional learning.Keywords: Concept Understanding, POE Learning Model, Experimental Method, Newton's Law

Abstract

Abstract : One of the problems facing education today is that the ability of students to solve problems when working on questions is still very low. Students still have difficulty solving problems and steps to solve problems given in the form of questions. Students' problem-solving abilities can be trained and improved by carrying out learning activities that invite students to explore, investigate, find problems and solve problems. One of the learning models that can develop these abilities is the Problem Base Learning learning model. This study aims to analyze students' physics problem-solving abilities in Sound Wave material after the application of the problem base learning learning model. The type of research used was the Pre-Experimental Design with the One Shoot Case Study design, namely a group was given treatment in the form of applying the PBL learning model and then the results were observed. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The sample in this study were students of SMAN 1 Ukui with class XI MIPA 2 as the experimental class. The research data was collected by giving a test in the form of a posttest which totaled 3 questions which were analyzed descriptively for each indicator. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that students' absorption after learning with the PBL model was already in the good category because most students were able to complete the problem-solving ability test successfully.Keywords: Problem Solving, PBL model, Sound Waves.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil belajar kognitif siswa dalam pembelajaran fisika melalui penerapan metode belajar PQRST dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif di kelas X MAN 1 Pekanbaru. Materi pokok yang dipilih adalah gelombang elektromagnetik. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah pra-eksperimen dengan rancangan the one-shot case study. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X IPA1 yang berjumlah 27 orang. Instrumen pengumpulan data penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar kognitif. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan memberikan tes yang dilakukan setelah proses pembelajaran. Data hasil belajar siswa dianalisis melalui analisis deskriptif. Dari hasil analisis data, diperoleh daya serap rata-rata siswa adalah 90,60 % dengan kategori baik, ketuntasan belajar siswa secara klasikal adalah 96,30 % dengan kategori tuntas, dan ketuntasan materi pelajaran adalah 92,31 % dengan kategori tuntas. Berdasarkan daya serap rata-rata siswa, maka pembelajaran dinyatakan efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa.

Abstract

Kegiatan pembelajaran yang monoton dapat menurunkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik, sehingga guru hendaknya dapat menggunakan media pembelajaran yang menyenangkan seperti penerapan virtual laboratorium (PhET Simulation) dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui perbedaan tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis antara kelas eksperimen dengan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbasis virtual laboratorium dan kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Kegiatan penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan Februari-Maret 2023 di SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh kelas X MIA yang terdiri dari 5 kelas dengan jumlah 168 siswa. Penentuan sampel menggunakan teknik undi sehingga diperoleh kelas X MIA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X MIA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian menggunakan jenis Quasi Experiment dengan Model Posttest only Control Group Design. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari silabus, RPP, LKPD dan instrumen pengumpulan data diperoleh dari hasil posttest kemampuan berpikir kritis yang diberikan kepada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Analisis data diperoleh dari uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis menggunakan SPSS 25 yang menyatakan kedua kelas terdistribusi normal dan homogen serta uji hipotesis menyatakan terdapat perbedaan tingkat berpikir kritis yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen di SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru. Hasil analisis data menyebutkan kelas eksperimen memiliki tingkat berpikir kritis lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is a part of 21st-century skills that must have by students in order to use their knowledge properly. This research is motivated by the current state of education which is intensively developing scientific literacy skills in the school. This is caused by science and technology development, so students are required to be able to adapt to technology, science, environment, and society. This research aimed to reveal MAN 1 Dumai students’ ability based on scientific literacy in the maritime context.  The survey method used in this study with 164 samples. The scientific literacy of the students was measured by using a scientific literacy test referring to the PISA 2015 scientific literacy competence aspects. The results of descriptive analysis show that the scientific literacy of MAN 1 Dumai student’s is in the sufficient category with an average score 60.27. Scientific literacy in the competence to explain scientific phenomena is in the sufficient category with an average 61.51, while in evaluating and designing scientific inquiry is in the sufficient category with an average 56.95. Meanwhile, interpreting data and evidence scientifically is in the sufficient category with an average 60.71. Then based on the inferential test, there is no significant difference between male and female students about the level of scientific literacy.
