Abstract

The material on atomic structure contains abstract concepts so it is often considered difficult by students. Therefore, innovative and engaging learning media are needed to help students understand the material more effectively. One alternative is the development of a pictorial story e-book integrated with a scientific approach to encourage critical and scientific thinking skills. The research aimed to determine the development process and feasibility of a pictorial story e-book on atomic structure material using a scientific approach. The research used the Lee and Owens development model. The instruments used were interview guidelines and questionnaires. The developed product was validated by a material expert and a media expert, assessed by a chemistry teacher, and tested on a small group of students. The data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques. The results showed that the average scores from the material expert and media expert were 4,5 and 4,57, respectively, both categorized as “very feasible”. The teacher assessment obtained an average score of 4,8 with the category “very good”, while students responses showed a feasibility percentage of 83,14%, categorized as “very good”. Therefore, the developed e-book is considered feasible as a chemistry learning material.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 13 Kota Jambi pada materi asam basa, yang terlihat dari hasil belajar di bawah KKTP. Tujuan penelitian adalah membandingkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa antara model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dan Discovery Learning (DL), serta mengetahui pengaruh PBL terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Sampel diambil secara purposive sampling, yaitu kelas XI Sains 6 sebagai kelas eksperimen (PBL) dan kelas XI Sains 3 sebagai kelas kontrol (DL). Data dikumpulkan melalui tes essay pretest-posttest dan dianalisis dengan uji Mann-Whitney karena data tidak normal.Hasil uji Mann-Whitney menunjukkan nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,007 < 0,05. Artinya, terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelas. Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis kelas PBL lebih tinggi, terutama pada indikator menarik kesimpulan dengan ketercapaian 69% dibanding kelas DL sebesar 42%.Simpulan penelitian ini adalah model PBL berpengaruh signifikan dan lebih efektif meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi asam basa dibanding model DL.

Abstract

Enhancing information literacy among teachers is a crucial step in supporting the achievement of quality education. Information literacy, which encompasses the ability to access, evaluate, and use information effectively, is vital in the learning process. With the advancement of technology, 3D animated video-based learning media has become a tool that can increase students' interest and understanding of the material being taught. This training aims to equip teachers with the skills to create learning media in the form of 3D animated videos using the Lumen application. This application is chosen for its ease of use in creating engaging and interactive visual content. In this training, participants will learn the basics of using Lumen, starting from 3D animation concepts, storyboard creation, to rendering and video editing techniques. The expected outcome of this training is the enhancement of teachers' competence in creating innovative and interactive learning media, which in turn can improve students' information literacy and understanding. Thus, this training is expected to contribute to improving the quality of education in schools.

Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan game berbasis Wordplay dengan menggunakan platform Wordwall dan Educaplay dirancang untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa melalui metode pembelajaran yang interaktif dan menarik. Dalam pelatihan ini, peserta diperkenalkan pada fitur-fitur utama dari kedua platform, yang memungkinkan mereka untuk menciptakan berbagai jenis permainan edukatif, seperti kuis, teka-teki, dan permainan kata. Implementasi game ini dalam pembelajaran terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan antusiasme dan partisipasi siswa, yang merasa lebih tertantang dan termotivasi untuk belajar. Selain itu, feedback positif dari peserta pelatihan dan siswa menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan ini dapat menjadi alternatif yang efektif untuk metode pengajaran konvensional. Ke depannya, guru yang telah mengikuti pelatihan ini berencana untuk terus mengintegrasikan game edukatif dalam pembelajaran, dengan harapan dapat mempertahankan dan meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa secara berkelanjutan.
