Abstract

This study analyzes the principal's leadership management in enhancing students' emotional intelligence (EQ) at MTs Darunnajah. Emotional intelligence is a crucial aspect of education, contributing to academic achievement, social skills, and character building. In Islamic education, EQ is a foundation for developing morally upright individuals capable of facing academic and social challenges. The researcher employed a qualitative descriptive approach and collected data through in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, students, and parents, supported by observation and documentation of school activities. They analyzed the data using thematic coding, applied source triangulation, and validated the findings through member checking to ensure credibility. The study found that the principal developed students' EQ through four core managerial functions: planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising. The principal created systematic planning that provided clear direction for school programs and organized collaborative efforts among teachers to integrate character values into every lesson. The implementation aligned with the school's vision and mission by emphasizing character-based learning and empathy-building activities. The principal also supervised the process to evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary improvements. In addition to leadership management, internal factors such as emotional regulation and self-motivation contributed to students' EQ development. In contrast, external factors included parental support, teacher role modeling, and an inclusive school climate. In conclusion, the principal's effective and collaborative leadership fostered a supportive learning environment that enhanced students' EQ. Sustainable development of emotional intelligence requires continuous synergy among principals, teachers, and parents.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The implementation of the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model in educational infrastructure development at Indonesian universities has had a significant impact on the quality of educational facilities and resource management. This model involves the private sector in the financing, construction, operation, and management of educational facilities, aiming to reduce dependence on government funding. This study aims to analyze the mechanisms of implementing the BOT model in Indonesian universities, the challenges faced, and its impact on the quality of educational infrastructure and student learning experiences. The method used in this study was a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews and document analysis from various parties involved in BOT projects at universities. The results indicate that the BOT model is effective in improving educational infrastructure by reducing the burden on the public budget and improving the quality of facilities that support learning activities. However, key challenges in implementing this model include financing, risk management, and coordination between relevant parties. The successful implementation of the BOT model depends on careful planning, clear communication between the private sector, the government, and universities, and stable regulations that support private investment. In addition, careful risk management and the use of educational technology such as a Learning Management System (LMS) contribute positively to the student learning experience. This study concludes that implementing the BOT model can provide a long-term solution to address educational infrastructure deficiencies in Indonesia. However, its success requires close collaboration between the public and private sectors. Transparent management and proper planning will ensure that the BOT model can contribute to improving the quality of higher education in Indonesia, supporting the development of student competencies in this digital era.

Abstract

The digital transformation has fundamentally altered the landscape of Islamic dawah (preaching). However, existing studies remain fragmented across isolated platforms, specific demographics, or singular aspects of digital religious communication, lacking an integrated analytical framework that systematically maps the interrelationship between benefits, obstacles, and mitigation strategies. This qualitative study addresses this gap by conducting a systematic literature review (SLR) following the PRISMA protocol, synthesizing findings from 35 peer-reviewed articles published between 2022 and 2025, sourced from Scopus-indexed journals and Indonesian SINTA-accredited publications (SINTA 2–4). Employing thematic analysis based on the Braun and Clarke framework, this research identifies four categories of benefits (expanded reach transcending geographical boundaries, enhanced youth engagement, interactive religious discourse, and democratization of religious knowledge), four categories of obstacles (misinformation proliferation, content verification challenges, commercialization of religious messages, and algorithmic barriers), and three strategic responses (strategic content planning, ethical guidelines adherence through Maqasid al-Shariah, and multi-stakeholder collaboration). The study proposes an original Digital Dawah Ecosystem Framework that conceptualizes the dialectical relationship between enabling and constraining factors in digital religious communication, revealing a "digital dawah paradox" in which the same platform affordances that facilitate expanded outreach simultaneously create conditions for misinformation and content distortion. Theoretically, this study extends the Uses and Gratifications Theory into the domain of religious digital communication. It contributes to the Mediatization of Religion theory by demonstrating how platform logics reshape dawah practices. Practically, the findings offer an operationalized strategic model for dawah practitioners, religious institutions, policymakers, and platform operators seeking to optimize digital religious communication while maintaining Islamic ethical integrity.

Abstract

Digital transformation in Islamic boarding schools requires integrating learning organization models with adaptive learning to address the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and society 5.0. This article aims to analyze the construction of the integration of the two concepts in the context of digitization of students in Indonesian Islamic boarding schools. The study focuses on a technology-based adaptive learning model associated with the five Senge disciplines in pesantren governance. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA protocol, based on 35 Scopus- and Sinta-indexed articles published between 2015 and 2025. The results of the study show that the integration of learning organization and adaptive learning forms four dimensions of transformation, namely modernization of data-based curriculum, strengthening the digital capacity of ustadz and students, system-based governance, and preservation of Islamic values. These findings confirm that the Islamic boarding schools that have succeeded in transforming are those that make collective learning a culture and personalize learning as a strategy. It is concluded that the Senge-Adaptive Learning hybrid framework is feasible as a model for digital pesantren governance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the improvement of Baca Tulis Al-Qur'an (BTQ) learning motivation among santri at Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School through basic training in the art of nagham (Qur'anic rhythmic recitation). BTQ learning frequently suffers from low motivation because it is perceived as monotonous and purely technical, while existing literature has rarely examined the role of Qur'anic musical arts as an intrinsic motivational instrument. A qualitative approach with a classroom action research design was employed over two cycles, involving 32 santri at the junior level. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, motivation questionnaires, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. Data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that basic nagham training, comprising the introduction of the seven maqamat (bayati, shaba, hijaz, nahawand, rast, jiharka, and sika), breathing exercises, and talaqqi-musyafahah methods, significantly enhances santri learning motivation. Improvement is evident in four dimensions: intrinsic interest in BTQ learning (rising from 56% to 89%), learning persistence (62% to 91%), active engagement (58% to 87%), and fluency in reading the Qur'an. The study concludes that integrating the art of nagham into BTQ learning provides aesthetic-spiritual stimuli that simultaneously fulfill the psychological needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness, thereby strengthening santri's intrinsic motivation and reading quality.

Abstract

Digital transformation has reshaped debates on access, equity, and quality in higher education, with Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a key enabler. This study synthesizes existing literature to examine the intersections between AI integration, digital leadership, pedagogical competency, and equity-oriented practices. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the PRISMA framework, the study analyzed 69 peer-reviewed articles (2022–2025) from Scopus and Watase databases. The findings identified three main themes: expanding digital access, advancing learning equity, and improving quality through AI-based pedagogy. Significant regional differences exist; developing countries (such as Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand) focus on infrastructure and teacher training, while developed countries emphasize ethics and curriculum innovation. Methodologically, quantitative approaches dominate and theories such as TPACK and TAM are relied upon. The study concludes that AI's impact is maximized when combined with human factors, such as teacher self-efficacy and institutional leadership. AI is not a neutral tool, but rather a transformative force tied to ethics and inclusivity. Future research should prioritize methodological pluralism and long-term evaluation to align technological advances with educational equity
