Abstract

Patient satisfaction with hospital nutrition services is a crucial indicator of healthcare quality and recovery outcomes. Despite its importance, many hospitals still face challenges in meeting patient expectations regarding food quality and nutrition service delivery. This study aims to examine the factors affecting inpatient satisfaction with nutrition services. Using a descriptive-analytic method with a cross-sectional approach, the study involved 132 inpatients who met specific inclusion criteria. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire covering two main variables: patient perception of hospital food services and satisfaction with nutrition services, measured using a 4-point Likert scale. The results showed that most patients rated their perceptions and satisfaction positively, though some aspects received lower ratings from a small group of respondents. Statistical analysis revealed associations between satisfaction levels and demographic characteristics such as age, education, occupation, class of care, and length of stay, with varying levels of influence. Overall, food quality, service responsiveness, and personalized nutrition delivery emerged as key factors shaping patient satisfaction. This study provides valuable insights for improving nutrition service quality and promoting patient-centered care. Theoretically, it contributes to the understanding of healthcare service quality in nutrition services, while practically, it offers evidence-based recommendations for hospital management to enhance service delivery and patient care outcomes.

This type of joint disease causes pain in the joints accompanied by stiffness, redness, and edema. A Non-pharmacological approach is strongly needed as combination therapy which has been effective in reducing pain. Acupressure and aromatherapy have been widely used in several populations but limited knowledge in the effect of pain among patients with arthritis gout. Objective. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of acupressure therapy and lavender aromatherapy on reducing pain in the elderly with gout arthritis. Methods: This research is a quasi-experiment with a two-group pre-test and post-test design approach. Respondents were divided into control and intervention groups. The instrument used in this study is the NRS (Numerical Rating Scale) using Likert Scale 0-10. Data analysis using Independent T-Test. Results: The majority of was in the early phase (45-59 years), female, and had high education. The results of the analysis showed a statistically significant decrease in pain scale h a p-value of 0.001. Conclusion: The combination of acupressure and lavender aromatherapy is effective in lowering pain scales in elderly people with gout arthritis.

Abstract

Bullying remains a prevalent issue among adolescents in schools, often without adequate counseling or intervention programs in place to mitigate the physical and psychological impacts. This study aims to assess the efficacy of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) counseling in reducing anxiety among bullied adolescents. Conducted as a quasi-experimental pre-post test with a control group design, the study targeted students in grades VII and VIII at MTSN X Bekasi. Fifty students were selected for both the intervention and control groups. The intervention group received group counseling utilizing the REBT method, while the control group received no treatment. Data analysis involved Dependent Samples Test and Independent Samples Test. Results indicated a significant decrease in anxiety levels among adolescents who underwent REBT intervention, with a reduction of -10.46 (p-value <0.05). The effectiveness of REBT counseling was evident in the significant decrease in anxiety levels (p-value <0.001), contrasting with the control group, where anxiety levels remained relatively unchanged (p-value 0.209). These findings underscore the effectiveness of REBT counseling in alleviating anxiety among bullied adolescents. It emphasizes the importance of implementing REBT-based counseling interventions in schools through collaborative efforts among stakeholders.

Abstract

Background: The government's effort to overcome toddlers with malnutrition is by providing additional food through local food diversification. One form of alternative food that can be made is in the form of cereals made from local food, purple sweet potato flour, tempeh flour, and quail eggs; Objective: Knowing the formula, quality and hedonicity, and the nutritional content of cereals based on purple sweet potato flour, tempeh flour, and quail eggs as alternative food additives for undernourished toddlers;Method: The study used an experimental design. Consisting of three types of treatment, with a ratio of purple yam flou and tempeh flour, namely 50%: 50% (F1), 60%: 40% (F2), and 80%: 20% (F3). The best cereal formula was obtained through a hedonic test with semi-trained panelists, nutritional content test using proximate analysis; Results: The cereal formula chosen was F3 with 494 kcal of energy, 7.06 grams of protein, 23.78 grams of fat, 62.96 grams of carbohydrates, 4.25% water content, and 1.96 grams of ash content. 51 of 2016 and SNI 01-7111.2-2005 regarding nutritional supplementation product standards, the protein and fat content of cereals has not met the requirements while the energy, carbohydrate, water, and ash content have met the requirements; Conclusion: The cereal formulation chosen was F3 with a ratio of 80% purple sweet potato flour and 20% tempeh flour. It is necessary to improve the cereal formula so that it meets the quality requirements for complementary foods for toddlers.

Abstract

Background: Stroke is a serious condition that can have a significant psychological impact on patients, including anxiety. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy that can influence attitudes and behaviors as well as cognitive changes, resulting in the desired attitude changes. Objectives: The objective of this study is to determine the effect of CBT on anxiety levels in elderly individuals diagnosed with stroke. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 36 elderly stroke patients. The analysis in this study used the dependent T-Test. Results: The average anxiety level decreased by 14.89, and the statistical test results showed a P-Value of 0.000, indicating that the intervention had a significant effect. Conclusion: This study concludes that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) using in vivo exposure techniques is significantly effective in reducing anxiety levels in the intervention group compared to the control group. Although there are other influencing variables such as education, these variables are not statistically significant.

Abstract

Background: The elderly, defined as individuals aged 60 years and above, have seen an increasing population due to advancements in healthcare but also face challenges such as hypertension. Hypertension, often referred to as "The Silent Killer," is becoming more common among the elderly due to physiological changes associated with aging. This condition, a leading cause of global cardiovascular diseases, heightens the risk of serious complications such as stroke and heart attack. Objectives: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of health education using video and poster media on the knowledge of the elderly about hypertension. Methods: This study employs a quasi-experimental design using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design method, where the experimental and control groups were not randomly assigned. A total of 32 samples were collected and divided into two groups (control and treatment). Data analysis included univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses. Results: The MANOVA test results indicated that the most influential variable affecting the respondents' knowledge level was education, with a p-value of 0.026. This value approaches 1, indicating that education has a stronger correlation compared to other variables. Conclusion: There is an effect of health education using video and poster media on the knowledge level of the elderly about hypertension.
