Abstract

The construction of meaning and social reality is a process in which individuals and groups actively construct an understanding of the social world through interactions and symbols. From a symbolic interactionist perspective, meaning is understood as the result of individual interpretations formed through social interactions using symbols such as language, gestures, and actions. Meanwhile, from a postmodernist perspective, social reality is understood as something that is not singular and objective, but relative, variable, and influenced by media and technological advances. This study aims to analyze the construction of meaning and social reality by combining these two perspectives in the context of modern life. The method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical type through a literature review of various related scientific sources. The results show that meaning and social reality are formed through social interactions and are also influenced by digital media, which expands and accelerates the construction process. Social media plays a significant role in shaping identities, perceptions, and social realities, such as beauty standards, concepts of success, and ideal lifestyles. Therefore, a critical attitude and media literacy are needed so that individuals can understand and filter the reality constructed in social life.

Abstract

Kesadaran hukum masyarakat merupakan cerminan nyata dari sejauh mana norma-norma hukum telah benar-benar meresap ke dalam kehidupan sosial sehari-hari. Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana struktur sosial masyarakat urban membentuk dan mempengaruhi tingkat kesadaran hukum warga Kota Bandar Lampung. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan yuridis normatif, kajian ini menelaah keterkaitan antara stratifikasi sosial, dinamika kelompok sosial, serta peran lembaga kemasyarakatan dalam membentuk pola kepatuhan hukum di tengah masyarakat yang heterogen. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa akses terhadap informasi hukum sangat dipengaruhi oleh posisi seseorang dalam hierarki sosial-ekonomi, di mana ketimpangan ini berdampak langsung pada perbedaan perilaku hukum antarkelompok masyarakat. Di sisi lain, kearifan lokal seperti falsafah Piil Pesenggiri dan Sai Bumi Ruwa Jurai sesungguhnya menyimpan potensi besar sebagai modal sosial dalam memperkuat kesadaran hukum, namun pengaruhnya kian melemah seiring dengan pergeseran nilai di kalangan generasi muda perkotaan. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penguatan kesadaran hukum tidak cukup hanya melalui pendekatan normatif formal, melainkan perlu mempertimbangkan konteks budaya, stratifikasi sosial, dan dinamika komunitas lokal secara menyeluruh.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of understanding of Human Rights (HAM) and anti-discrimination attitudes of students in the Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Lampung. This study used a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The research sample consisted of 76 students from the classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024. Data collection techniques used a test to measure human rights understanding and a questionnaire to measure anti-discrimination attitudes. Data analysis was carried out using a correlation test. The results of the study indicate a significant relationship between the level of human rights understanding and students' anti-discrimination attitudes. This indicates that the higher the students' human rights understanding, the higher their anti-discrimination attitudes. Thus, human rights understanding is an important foundation in forming inclusive and equitable social attitudes in the academic environment.
