Abstract

This study addresses challenges in 21st-century education, particularly the low motivation and academic performance of elementary school students. It investigates the use of multimedia-based interactive learning tools as a solution to improve engagement and learning outcomes. Focusing on the Hydrological Cycle (Theme 8) for fifth-grade students, the research aimed to develop interactive multimedia learning materials using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and assessments, then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The findings revealed strong validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed materials. Material and media experts rated the tool’s validity at 90%, classifying it as highly valid. Practicality tests yielded scores of 98.3% from teachers and 86.9% from students, confirming its usability in classroom settings. Most notably, the tool significantly improved learning outcomes, with average test scores rising from 48.79 (pretest) to 81.47 (post-test). These results demonstrate that interactive multimedia tools can effectively enhance student motivation and academic achievement in elementary education

Abstract

This research examines the role of local communities in supporting madrasah management in Indonesia and Thailand through a comparative approach. Madrasah, as an Islamic-based educational institution, has a strategic role in shaping the character and morals of students. In Indonesia, the integration of madrasahs in the national education system is supported by the government, while in Thailand, local communities play a major role in supporting the sustainability of madrasahs, especially in Muslim minority areas. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, which analyzes various secondary sources such as journal articles, research reports and policy documents. The results show that local community support includes financial, infrastructure and labor aspects. Differences in social, cultural and political contexts influence the pattern of local community contributions in both countries. In Indonesia, strong government support encourages more systematic management of madrasahs, while in Thailand, local communities have greater autonomy in madrasah management. Despite challenges such as limited resources and suboptimal management, both countries have opportunities to strengthen madrasahs through cross-country collaboration and inclusive education policy development. This research makes an important contribution to the development of Islamic education systems in Southeast Asia, especially in understanding the dynamics of synergy between local communities and faith-based educational institutions.

Abstract

Human trafficking is a significant issue in ASEAN countries and across the world, characterized by the exploitation and abuse of individuals for forced labor and sexual exploitation. To overcome this issue, various policies and strategies have been adopted by the United Nations and many countries. However, the effectiveness of these efforts is difficult to measure due to the hidden and often under-reported nature of human trafficking. In ASEAN countries, there have been some steps taken to address this issue, such as the adoption of the ASEAN Convention against Trafficking in Persons, but much more needs to be done to effectively address this persistent problem. Addressing human trafficking requires a coordinated and sustained effort from governments, civil society organizations, and the international community as a whole. The implementation and impact of these policies and strategies must be closely monitored and evaluated to ensure their effectiveness in addressing human trafficking in ASEAN countries and beyond

Abstract

The discovery of manuscripts preserved by the community on the slopes of Mount Kawi, specifically in the village of Sumberdem, Wonosari, Malang, is significant and merits further exploration through content analysis. In addition to serving as evidence of the village’s identity as an Islamic proselytizing center, these manuscripts deserve to be studied and their contents revealed. One particularly noteworthy manuscript is Layang Fasholatan, which outlines concise guidelines on fiqh, akidah, and morals/tasawwuf that remain relevant in the present context. Its content can also be contextualized with the responsibilities of a village imam/modin, whose role includes leading religious rites such as weddings and funeral processions. Despite the breadth of prior research, few studies have specifically examined the practical relevance of manuscript content to the contemporary roles of village religious leaders such as the modin. This study offers a novel contribution by contextualizing the worship-related teachings in Layang Fasholatan within the lived religious duties of a modin in modern rural Java. Using a philological approach, content analysis, and in-depth interviews, this study presents a focused analysis of the manuscript, specifically within the scope of amaliyah/fiqh and worship. The manuscript provides a concise guide to funeral practices, prayer procedures, devotional supplications (wirid), and marriage contract guidelines. This study affirms that Layang Fasholatan, with its emphasis on worship practices, aligns closely with the religious functions and practical needs of a modin, making it both a historically and contemporarily valuable resource. While the research effectively utilizes philological and content analysis methods, it remains a preliminary exploration focused solely on the amaliyah aspect, leaving ample opportunity for future studies to examine its other dimensions and broader applications.

Abstract

Introduction: This study examines the effectiveness of civil litigation in resolving education contract disputes at the Watampone Blue Islamic Boarding School, South Sulawesi. As an educational institution based on Islamic values, Islamic boarding schools face legal challenges due to the lack of special regulations governing education contracts.Purposes of the Research: Evaluate the effectiveness of civil litigation in resolving education contract disputes at the Watampone Blue Islamic Boarding School. It aims to identify the causes of disputes, explore alternative resolution methods like mediation, and propose an updated framework for education contracts that integrates Sharia principles, legal protection, and clarity of rights and obligations in Islamic boarding schools. Methods of the Research: The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, through the analysis of contract documents and in-depth interviews with student guardians, pesantren managers, and legal practitioners. Results of the Research: Contract disputes in Islamic boarding schools stem from unequal bargaining, unclear clauses, and low legal awareness. While civil litigation is rarely used, mediation based on local wisdom is more common. The research calls for updating education contracts in these schools to integrate Sharia principles and ensure legal clarity and justice for all parties.
