Abstract

Masaran Village is one of the tourist villages located in Trenggalek Regency. This village is located adjacent to the south coast with a distance of approximately 40 km from the district government center. Masaran Village has also developed various tourist attractions and activities offered to tourists, including mangrove education and turtle conservation, beach safaris, fun games, camping tours, outbound. The Mutiara Laut Sumbreng Pokmaswas was established in 2013 located in Masaran Village, Munjungan District. This community group, which is active in turtle conservation and beach cleaning, consists of 23 people, 12 of whom are women. So far, the Fisheries Service has provided more training on fish management and turtle care, so the Pokmaswas submitted assistance funds to the Village Government to conduct counseling and training, but with new regulations directing village funds to handle Covid, the Village Government has not dared to budget for training to Pokmaswas. So that the role of universities is needed in helping partner problems. The proposal team has formulated one priority issue, namely the lack of tourism innovation in the turtle conservation area in Masaran Village. Based on the priority issues above, the proposing team provided an alternative solution for the PIKAT program, namely the holding of training on making turtle souvenirs from coconut shells and coconut husks typical of Masaran Village. PIKAT community service activities are carried out using three methods, namely 1) asset-based community development (ABCD) as a method of social approach to the community, 2) counseling and training on making souvenirs from coconut shells, and 3) producing souvenirs from coconut shells in the form of turtles. turtle. Meanwhile, the mandatory outputs include print and electronic media articles, publications on YouTube, modules, intellectual property rights, and the MBKM program with a minimum conversion of 2 credits for students.

Abstract

Greenwashing has become prevalent as many stakeholders falsely claim to adhere to green growth principles. Green growth also often neglects human rights aspects. This study proposes degrowth as an alternative to the dominant economic growth paradigm. Degrowth, which gained popularity during the post-pandemic recovery, emphasizes sustainability, justice, and independence from capitalist growth. While green growth often relies on technology for solutions, degrowth recognizes its potential limitations. In the Global South, degrowth can support local communities and challenge neo-colonial tourism practices. Community-based tourism, slow tourism, and responsible tourism are concrete manifestations of degrowth principles. These approaches aim to benefit local communities, reduce environmental impact, and promote sustainable tourism practices. This study focuses on three Indonesian international tourism destinations, Raja Ampat, Nusa Penida, and Labuan Bajo. By analysing the discourses surrounding these destinations, the study highlights the need for a transformative shift towards more sustainable and equitable tourism practices. Degrowth offers a roadmap for achieving balanced economic growth while prioritizing ecological preservation and social justice. Keywords: Green Growth, Degrowth, Sustainability, Justice, Tourism.

Abstract

There are challenges and contradictions presented by the green economy, and its derivative, namely green growth, including the phenomenon of greenwashing and the sustainability paradox. The green economy has the potential to cause technological determinism in sustainable development. This article attempts to reintroduce and amplify the idea of de-growth, which was once a manifestation of post-pandemic recovery in 2020 as a form of economic re-orientation towards sustainable development. This article, written with a qualitative approach and literature study instruments, also portrays de-growth globally and in Indonesia, especially for the tourism sector with examples in Raja Ampat and Nusa Penida. We can examine the application of de-growth as an economic principle in Raja Ampat and Nusa Penida through restrictions on the number of tourists, zoning areas, and the involvement of existing local communities.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has shaken the world since the beginning of the first case in Wuhan City, China. It made the international community urge China to take responsibility for the various actions and measures that came from countries affected by the virus. In this regard, China has established a cooperation initiative in health relations through the HSR (Health Silk Road) under the auspices of the OBOR (One Belt One Road) policy. HSR was considered to have a significant effect in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic virus through its health diplomacy approach in several countries, especially countries that have joined the OBOR policy, such as Indonesia. This paper's objective was to determine the role of HSR as a form of China's diplomacy initiative in establishing a health cooperation relationship with Indonesia to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. This writing focused on writing a descriptive non-numeric narrative with secondary data collection techniques. The HSR approach in Indonesia, such as mask diplomacy and vaccine diplomacy, has proven China's success in restoring its image in the international sphere. The delivery of an impressive amount of health assistance and COVID-19 vaccines to Indonesia showed China's seriousness in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Kalirungkut Village is one of the urban areas located in Rungkut Sub-district, Surabaya. The area of Kelurahan Kalirungkut is 2.58 km2, divided into 15 RWs (neighborhood units) and 86 RTs (community units) (Statistics Indonesia, Surabaya 2016). The population of this neighborhood is approximately 22,949 people, consisting of 11,345 males and 11,604 females (Kalirungkut Village, 2022). Within the neighborhood, there are 11 active industrial companies, including 7 large-scale industries and 4 small-scale industries (Statistics Indonesia, Surabaya 2019). The significant population and industrial activities in the area require a large amount of land, resulting in a reduction of agricultural land. Therefore, the objective of the community service activity is to create a sustainable farming strategy through the design and implementation of aquaponics. The community service method consists of three stages: survey and preparation, implementation of activities, and maintenance and monitoring of results. The outcome of the community service activity is the establishment of an aquaponics farming system located in the yard of one of the residents in Kalirungkut, namely Mrs. Ismudji Rahayuningsih.

Abstract

Abstract

Desa Tegaren, Kab.
