Abstract

This study aims to analyze the allocation of village funds for sustainable development and calculate the carbon footprint associated with village activities. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with village heads and analysis of the 2023 Village Budget (APBDes) documents. The findings show that both villages allocate a significant portion of their budgets to infrastructure, community services, and social security. However, not all budget allocations directly contribute to measurable carbon emissions, only certain items such as raw materials, IT tools, and vehicles. This study contributes to the understanding of how effective budget allocation and sustainable practices can reduce carbon footprints and promote the importance of implementing sustainable development at the village level. Both villages in the study can significantly improve sustainable development efforts by focusing on providing environmentally friendly materials, improving energy efficiency, and involving community participation in planning. These findings can be a model for other villages in Indonesia that want to achieve sustainable development.

Abstract

Coffee cultivation plays a pivotal role in global agricultural trade, offering cultural, economic, and social value that transcends borders. In Indonesia, particularly in Jember Regency, coffee stands out as a leading agricultural product, supporting local economies and contributing significantly to global coffee exports. Within this context, the Sumber Kembang Farmer Group cultivates and processes coffee, offering a diverse range of products, including coffee logs and ground coffee, derived from both Robusta and Arabica varieties and processed through various methods. This research aims to identify optimal strategies for developing the group's coffee business. A case study approach was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and a literature review. The analysis used several strategic tools, including the Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) Matrix, External Factor Evaluation (EFE) Matrix, Internal-External (IE) Matrix, SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) Matrix, and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). The findings reveal that the coffee enterprise of the Sumber Kembang Farmer Group is positioned in quadrant IV of the IE matrix, indicating a Growth and Build strategy. This positioning underscores the need for an extensive and integrative approach encompassing six strategic components. Prioritizing the improvement of product marketing quality is identified as a critical step toward achieving business development goals.

Abstract

Mango (Mangifera indica L) is one of commodities with high food loss rate due to the characteristics of mango, which is easily spoiled and difficult to store. One of the strategies to reduce mango food loss caused by post-harvest handling is the diversification of mango products. Mango flour can be developed to minimize mango food waste and enhance its added value. This study aimed to determine the optimum formulation for making mango flour. The study used Response Surface Methodology (RSM) type Central Composite Design (CCD) to optimize mango flour yield, using three factors: rice flour concentration (X1: 2 5%), maltodextrin concentration (X2: 2-5%), and tapioca flour concentration (X3: 2-5%). The significance of response was carried out using analysis of variance (ANOVA) at the 95% confidence level (p<0.05). The linear model was the model suggested by software. Model analysis showed that rice flour and tapioca flour concentration significantly affected mango flour yield, while maltodextrin did not have a considerable impact. Based on the results of this study, the optimum conditions in making mango flour were found using rice flour concentration of 4.94%, maltodextrin concentration of 2.25%, and tapioca flour concentration of 4.88% to produce mango flour yield of 20.9578%. Keywords: Mango flour, Optimization, Response surface methodology, Yield.

Abstract

Abstract

Harmonization between the Village Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMDes) and the Village Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBDes) is crucial for effective, transparent, and sustainable village development. However, in various villages across Indonesia, including Rowotamtu Village, Rambipuji Distrik, challenges remain in maintaining alignment between medium-term planning and annual budgeting. This study aims to analyze the extent to which the Village Budget (APBDes) allocation aligns with the development priorities outlined in the RPJMDes and identify factors that hinder and support this alignment. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method, conducted through interviews with the Finance and Planning Heads, and analyzed the RPJMDes and APBDes documents. The results indicate that most priority programs are included in the APBDes, but budget revisions occur frequently annually due to regulatory changes, changes in funding levels, urgent needs, and limited village human resources. This mismatch leads to program delays, reduced activities, and decreased public trust, particularly in social programs such as the Direct Cash Assistance (BLT). The study concluded that strengthening the capacity of village officials, continuous coordination between government institutions, and optimizing the use of the village financial system are important strategies to improve the alignment between the RPJMDes and the APBDes in a sustainable manner.
