Abstract

Character education is a learning process that provides support for the social-emotional and ethical development of students and an effort to build character. Character education aims to form a person who is devoted and faithful and who is more responsible for all behaviors possessed by students, such as self-confidence, innovation, passion, competitiveness, creativity, honesty, high social spirit, and kindness. With The application of character education in every aspect of learning is expected to support the creation of a more moral education. This article is the result of an analysis using the literature study method, or literature review. The results of the study show that exemplary teachers are continuously needed in efforts and struggles to instill noble values in strengthening student character, both in aspects of behavior, attitudes, and habits in the school environment and in other environments. The success of character education in schools depends entirely on how teachers conduct lessons. A teacher is a role model; a teacher is the pinnacle of everything. What a teacher does affects the development of students.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology and the lack of digital education for the community make all groups use social media freely without education. In this case, the concern is students who are still in elementary school and who are already using social media freely. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study type. The main data source in this research is news articles about elementary school children who are influenced by social media so that it has an impact on children's behavior and character education, which is sourced from online news portals on the internet regarding the case. The result of the discussion of this case is that the incident ended peacefully in a family manner. Abstract

AbstrakPendidikan karakter melalui kebudayaan lokal dapat membantu siswa memahami nilai-nilai seperti kerjasama, tanggung jawab, kejujuran, kesederhanaan, dan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan dan orang lain. Dengan mempelajari budaya dan tradisi lokal, siswa dapat belajar menghargai keberagaman, menerima perbedaan, dan membangun sikap inklusif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mengenai pengembangan kebudayaan lokal Kebumen dalam membangun Pendidikan karakter siswa Sekolah Dasar khusunya siswa di SD N 1 Selogiri. Salah satu contoh kebudayaan lokal kebumen yang mampu membangun pendidikan karakter di SDN 1 Selogiri ini contohnya yaitu Wayang kulit. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif, dan jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara dan kajian Pustaka. Kesimpulan dari analisis ini adalah Kebudayaan lokal ini berdampak baik bagi perkembangan karakter peserta didik dalam penerapannya. Karena itu, kebudayaan lokal memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk Pendidikan karakter peserta didik, ditunjukan dengan wayang kulit, bagian dari kebudayaan lokal Kebumen dapat membangun pendidikan karakter pada peserta didik di SDN 1 Selogiri melalui penggambaran watak dari tokoh pandawa dan filosofi dari pandawa.Kata kunci: Pendidikan karakter; kebudayaan lokal; sekolah dasar

Abstract

Social skills abilities in society are very necessary to prepare good and educated citizens. Social skills need to be developed in learning through models, methods, approaches or learning techniques, especially in social studies learning. To determine the influence of the Community Component Contextual Teaching and Learning model in efforts to improve social skills abilities, as well as determine the increase in the final score of students' social skills abilities, the researchers used a quasi experiment (quasi experiment). The subjects in this study consisted of 48 fifth grade elementary school students. The results of data analysis show that the influence of the CTL model on students' social skills is 49.6%. The results of the n-gain t test obtained a sig value of 0.000, so H0 rejected so it can be concluded that the increase in social skills abilities of students who receive CTL model learning is better than students who receive conventional learning. Abstract

This research is based on the low student learning outcomes and student activities in Civics learning in elementary schools. This research applies the Team Games Tournament type cooperative learning model which aims to improve student learning outcomes and activities through learning which contains elements of tournament games. This research uses the classroom action research (PTK) method which consists of cycle I and cycle II with several stages starting from planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The instruments used in this research were learning evaluation tests, observation of student activities, and interviews. The subjects in this research were class IV students at one of the West Jakarta elementary schools, totaling 30 students. Before implementing the TGT learning model, students obtained learning outcomes of 10%. When implementing the TGT learning model in cycle I, student activity achieved 65% and student learning outcomes achieved 57% with an average of 61.5. This has not achieved the expected target, so the second cycle was carried out with student activities getting 92% and student learning outcomes getting 83% with an average of 75. Based on this, it can be concluded that before implementing the TGT learning model there were still students who experienced understanding. which is low so improvements need to be made for good learning outcomes, then after implementing the TGT learning model, student activities and learning outcomes experience a much better improvement. So, learning by implementing the Team Games Tournament (TGT) model can improve PPKn learning outcomes for grade IV students in elementary schools.   Keywords: cooperative learning model type Team Games Tournament (TGT), elementary education, learning outcomes

Abstract

Sebagai bentuk upaya dalam menghadapi tantangan globalisasi abad-21, adanya pendidikan karakter sangat dibutuhkan dalam menghadapi dan mengatasi tantangan tersebut. pendidikan karakter ini harus mulai diterapkan sejak usia dini atau secara formal dapat dimulai dari tingkat Taman Kanak-Kanak. Namun, dilihat dari berbagai karakteristik anak pada setiap jenjang, karakteristik anak Sekolah Dasar berada di posisi terbaik untuk diterapkannya pendidikan karakter. Oleh sebab itu, artikel ini bertujuan untuk membahas mengenai urgensi atau pentingnya penerapan pendidikan karakter bagi anak usia sekolah dasar sebagai dasar mereka dalam menghadapi tantangan abad 21. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kualitatif yang dilakukan dengan metode analisis deskriptif dengan kajian pustaka. Hal-hal yang perlu diketahui dan diajarkan dalam urgensi pendidikan karakter anak sekolah dasar pada abad 21 yaitu mengenai arti dari pendidikan karakter itu sendiri, bagaimana karakteristiknya, tujuan bagaimana implementasinya di sekolah dasar dan juga penerapannya di abad 21. Untuk itu, pendidikan karakter ini sangat penting diterapkan di sekolah dasar untuk membangun dan membentuk karakter siswa untuk menyiapkan mereka tentang bagaimana cara mereka berpikir, bersikap, dan bertindak dalam menghadapi permasalahan yang akan dihadapi pada abad 21 ini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning yang didukung media Augmented Reality terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning menekankan keterkaitan antara materi pembelajaran dengan konteks kehidupan nyata, sedangkan media Augmented Reality digunakan untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar yang interaktif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan non-equivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa sekolah dasar kelas IV dibagi ke dalam kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara hasil berpikir kritis siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning berbantuan Augmented Reality dibandingkan dengan kelompok yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi Contextual Teaching and Learning dan media Augmented Reality secara efektif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan menciptakan pembelajaran yang kontekstual, menarik, dan bermakna.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh persepsi siswa terhadap mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) terhadap semangat belajar Merdeka di kelas V SDN 158 Babakan Sari 3 Kota Bandung. Latar belakang penelitian ini dilandaskan berdasarkan rendahnya minat siswa terhadap mata pelajaran IPS yang dianggap kurang menarik dan relevan sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya semangat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional dan metode survei cross-sectional. Sampel yang digunakan terdiri dari 32 siswa yang diambil melalui teknik kluster sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan angket berskala Likert dan dianalisis dengan uji regresi linear sederhana menggunakan SPSS versi 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara persepsi siswa terhadap mata pelajaran IPS dengan semangat belajar mereka, dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,399 menunjukkan bahwa 39,9% variasi semangat belajar dapat dijelaskan oleh persepsi siswa terhadap IPS. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya membangun persepsi positif terhadap mata pelajaran IPS sebagai strategi untuk meningkatkan semangat belajar siswa dalam konteks Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model using Animaker video media on the development of critical thinking skills among elementary school students, as well as comparing its effectiveness with the expository method. The underlying issue of this research is the low level of students’ critical thinking skills, which is caused by a lack of innovation in Social Studies (IPS) learning. Using a quantitative approach and a Non-Equivalent Control Group design, the study involved 50 students from two classes—experimental and control—at SDN Bantarjaya 01, Bekasi Regency. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests based on Fisher’s critical thinking indicators and analyzed using SPSS. The results showed that the implementation of the STAD learning model supported by Animaker videos significantly improved students' critical thinking skills (p < 0.05). It was more effective and interactive compared to the expository method, contributing to a 61% increase in performance. These findings affirm that learning approaches tailored to students’ characteristics can optimize critical thinking abilities in Social Studies education.

Abstract

The impact of globalization greatly influences the character of Indonesian society, especially students. One way to instill good character is through character education in learning. Character education is expected to strengthen the five main character values originating from Pancasila: religion, nationalism, integrity, independence, and mutual cooperation. In the implementation of character education, cultural values can be instilled in the surrounding environment. Cultural values can foster good character in students. Thus, the following explanation explains the urgency of character education as a cultural value.
