Abstract

In education, teacher competence greatly determines the quality of the learning process and outcomes, while principal leadership and professional development are considered important factors that influence these competencies. However, there is a gap in understanding how teacher self-experience can act as a bridge in the influence of both factors on teacher competence, especially in Islamic educational environments such as Madrasah Tsanawiyah. This study examines and analyzes the influence of principal leadership and professional development on teacher competence through self-experience mediation. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a PLS-SEM analysis model. The research sample involved 58 teachers from MTsN 9 Magetan and MTsN 6 Madiun, selected through proportional random sampling techniques. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using path analysis techniques and direct and indirect effects hypothesis testing. The results showed that professional development positively and significantly influenced self-experience, while self-experience significantly influenced teacher competence. However, the influence of principal leadership on self-experience and teacher competence was not substantial. Self-experience was also shown to mediate the positive influence of principal leadership and professional development on teacher competence, although not significantly on the influence of leadership. This conclusion emphasizes the importance of self-experience as a mediator that can strengthen the influence of professional development on teacher competence. Recommendations from this study suggest improving teacher professional development programs and leadership training that emphasize personal experience and reflection.

Abstract

This research explores the urgency and influence of organizational culture and interpersonal communication on teacher performance through self-competence. Organizational culture issues often stem from poor communication, a lack of clear vision, resistance to change, and weak collaboration between teams. Ideally, organizational culture should encourage open communication, be rooted in strong values, remain flexible toward innovation, and strengthen teamwork to achieve common goals. The survey method was used to collect data based on probability sampling from 26 teachers from Public Junior High School in Badegan District, Ponorogo, East Java. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire consisting of a Likert scale with 4 alternative answers. PLS-SEM analysis is used to analyze data and test construction infrastructure. The results of the analysis show that Organizational Culture (ẞ=0.086; p=0.562) and self-competence on teacher performance (ẞ=0.268, p=0.099) have an insignificant effect. In addition, self-competence was proven not to mediate the influence of organizational culture (ẞ=0.145: p=0.111) on teacher performance. The implications of this research highlight the important role of organizational culture and interpersonal communication in improving teacher performance.

Abstract

Mathematical disposition can help students overcome difficulties in learning mathematics more effectively. With the mediation of mathematical disposition, the positive influence of self-directed learning can more easily lead to increased students' problem-solving abilities. This research aims to explore the role of mathematical disposition as a mediator in influencing learning difficulties and self-directed learning on problem-solving abilities. The survey method was used to collect data based on probability sampling from 32 students from class 5 at MI Ma'arif Patihan Wetan. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire consisting of a Likert scale with 4 alternative answers. PLS-SEM analysis was used to analyze data and test and evaluate the construction of variables measuring problem-solving abilities. The results of the analysis show that problem-solving abilities are not significantly influenced by learning difficulties (β=0.000; ρ=0.998) and self-directed learning (β=0.000; ρ=0.061). In addition, mathematical disposition was proven to mediate the influence of learning difficulties (β=0.443; ρ=0.000) and self-directed learning (β=0.214; ρ=0.286) on problem-solving abilities. These findings highlight the importance of mathematical disposition in facilitating problem-solving abilities through learning difficulties and self-directed learning. The practical implication of this research is the need for a holistic approach in developing a positive attitude towards mathematics as an integral part of the learning approach. This research supports efforts to provide a learning environment that supports, motivates, and encourages students to develop positive mathematical dispositions. As well as emphasizing the development of metacognitive skills and utilizing learning technology to facilitate interaction and collaboration between students in exploring mathematical concepts.

Abstract

As technology continues to evolve, the gap between those who have grown up with technology (digital natives) and those who have not (digital immigrants) continues to widen. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the comparison of students learning outcomes taught by two different groups of teachers from different generation (digital native and digital immigrant). The subjects of this research were 10th-grade students in the Department of Computer and Network Engineering at Vocational High School. The total of the research respondents were 60 students. This research was using a quantitative approach with a comparative method. The data collected was the form of a questionnaire and a summary of the scores in the last semester. The results of the independent sample t-test obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.065 > 0.05, so the decision making in the Independent Sample t-test, concluded that the null hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) rejected. Ho is a hypothesis which states that there is no correlation or influence between variables and other variables, while Ha is a hypothesis which states that there is a correlation or influence between variables and other variables. Based on the research result, it means that there is no difference in learning outcomes between students taught by digital immigrant teacher and digital native teacher. This research proves that digital native teachers and digital immigrant teachers are equally qualified.

Abstract

The independent curriculum aims to create an inclusive learning environment in special schools, where children with special needs are fully integrated into the learning process with their friends without barriers or discrimination. This research aims to evaluate the achievements of the independent curriculum in particular schools in increasing the participation of children with special needs in learning. This research uses an evaluation method using the CIPPO model developed by Stufflebeam and Shinkfield. The research instrument was shown to school principals, vice principals, and teachers as a questionnaire. Using random sampling techniques, 32 respondents were chosen, consisting of 3 principals, 7 vice principals, and 25 teachers. The findings of this research identify the lowest measurement of evaluation results, namely in the input aspect, namely the involvement of parents in decision making, support for facilities and infrastructure, and social support from friends need to be improved. So, the recommendation that needs to be improved is that schools and teachers must develop partnerships with community organizations and government institutions to support inclusion efforts, including providing additional services and social support for children with special needs. In addition, particular schools must prioritize providing information and training to parents, teachers, students, and the community about the importance of inclusion, the rights of children with special needs, and the best ways to support their participation in the learning process.
