Abstract

Abstrak Status gizi merupakan hasil keseimbangan antara asupan zat gizi dari makanan dan pengeluaran energi melalui aktivitas fisik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perilaku makan dan aktivitas fisik dengan status gizi remaja di SMA Negeri 1 Sei Rampah. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain observasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Sei Rampah pada bulan November 2022 hingga Februari 2023, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 71 remaja yang dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pengukuran antropometri dan pengisian kuesioner. Analisis bivariat menggunakan uji Rank Spearman, sedangkan analisis multivariat menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 50,7% remaja memiliki perilaku makan yang kurang baik, 90,10% memiliki tingkat aktivitas fisik sedang, dan 43,70% memiliki status gizi kurang. Uji Rank Spearman menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara perilaku makan dan aktivitas fisik dengan status gizi (p = 0,000). Hasil regresi linier berganda menunjukkan bahwa perilaku makan dan aktivitas fisik berhubungan signifikan dengan status gizi remaja (Y = -1,906 + 0,062 perilaku makan + 0,002 aktivitas fisik; p = 0,000), dengan perilaku makan sebagai faktor yang paling dominan. Dengan demikian, terdapat hubungan antara perilaku makan dan aktivitas fisik dengan status gizi remaja di SMA Negeri 1 Sei Rampah. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa program edukasi gizi dan promosi gaya hidup aktif di lingkungan sekolah dapat menjadi strategi yang efektif untuk mencegah dan mengatasi masalah gizi pada remaja. Intervensi yang berkelanjutan dan berbasis sekolah perlu dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan kualitas perilaku makan dan aktivitas fisik sebagai upaya mendukung perkembangan remaja yang optimal. Abstract Nutritional status is the result of a balance between nutrient intake from food and energy expenditure through physical activity. This study aims to examine the relationship between eating behavior and physical activity with the nutritional status of adolescents at SMA Negeri 1 Sei Rampah. The research employed an observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Sei Rampah from November 2022 to February 2023, involving 71 adolescents selected through random sampling. Data collection was carried out through anthropometric measurements and questionnaire completion. Bivariate analysis was performed using the Spearman rank test, while multivariate analysis used multiple linear regression. The results showed that 50.7% of adolescents had poor eating behavior, 90.10% had moderate physical activity levels, and 43.70% had poor nutritional status. The Spearman rank test indicated a significant relationship between eating behavior and physical activity with nutritional status (p = 0.000). The multiple linear regression analysis revealed a significant relationship between eating behavior and physical activity with adolescents’ nutritional status (Y = -1.906 + 0.062 eating behavior + 0.002 physical activity; p = 0.000), with eating behavior being the most dominant factor. Thus, there is a significant relationship between eating behavior and physical activity with the nutritional status of adolescents at SMA Negeri 1 Sei Rampah. These findings suggest that nutrition education programs and the promotion of active lifestyles within the school environment can be effective strategies to prevent and address nutritional problems among adolescents. Sustainable, school-based interventions should be developed to improve the quality of eating behavior and physical activity as part of efforts to support optimal adolescent development.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi dan kemudahan mendapatkan makanan cepat saji mendorong remaja untuk memilih makanan yang rendah nilai gizi, seperti makanan olahan, minuman manis, camilan tinggi kalori dan rendah serat. Kondisi ini menyebabkan perubahan pola makan dan gaya hidup yang tidak sehat serta meningkatkan risiko gangguan kesehatan. Sekolah menjadi tempat strategis untuk melakukan perubahan gaya hidup sehat pada remaja melalui edukasi gizi dan penguatan sarana Unit Kesehatan Sekolah (UKS). Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk implementasi gaya hidup sehat di sekolah melalui kegiatan edukasi gizi sayur, buah dan aktivitas fisik serta penguatan sarana UKS. Program Pengabdian Masyarakat ini di lakukan di SMA Swasta Bandung sejak bulan Maret sampai Juni 2025. Peserta sosialisasi adalah guru Pembina UKS, siswa anggota UKS dan 49 orang siswa. Metode yang digunakan meliputi kegiatan edukasi mengenai pentingnya konsumsi sayur dan buah, pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi My Eduvegfruit, edukasi senam ritmik untuk kebugaran serta pemberian dan pelatihan alat kesehatan untuk UKS kepada pihak sekolah. My Eduvegfruit dirancang untuk memantau dan meningkatkan kecukupan konsumsi sayur dan buah harian siswa. Aplikasi ini menyediakan fitur edukasi, pencatatan asupan buah sayur harian yang memudahkan remaja secara mandiri mengelola pola makan sehat serta membandingkan dengan kecukupan serat satu hari. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan siswa tentang sayur, buah dan senam ritmik rata-rata 90,3%. Penguatan sarana UKS dan pelatihan pengukuran antropometri pada siswa dapat meningkatkan efektivitas pemantauan kesehatan siswa secara berkala. Implementasi program ini menunjukkan bahwa melalui pendekatan holistik yang melibatkan edukasi, fasilitas, dan kolaborasi semua pihak, dapat tercipta lingkungan sekolah yang sehat dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Introduction: The prevalence of stunting among children aged 24-60 months is a critical public health concern including in the Puskesmas Siempat Rube working area. Inadequate maternal knowledge about balanced nutrition and inappropriate feeding practices can contribute to the incidence of stunting. Objective: To analyze the relationship between maternal knowledge of balanced nutrition and maternal feeding practice on the incidence of stunting in children aged 24-60 months in the Puskesmas Siempat Rube working area. Method: This cross-sectional study was conducted in December 2023. The research sample consisted of 43 participants selected using purposive sampling. Balanced nutrition knowledge scores were categorized into poor, sufficient, and good; meanwhile, the higher the score for feeding practice, the better the mother's feeding practice was assumed. Height was assessed based on the TB/U indicator and categorized into stunting and not stunting. Hypotheses were analyzed using logistic regression tests, with statistical significance set at p < 0.05. Result: The prevalence of stunting in this study was 69.8%. Most mothers had insufficient knowledge of balanced nutrition (90.7%), and the average feeding practice score was 58.4. Maternal knowledge of balanced nutrition and maternal feeding practice are significantly related to the incidence of stunting in children aged 24-60 months in the Puskesmas Siempat Rube working area (p < 0.05). Maternal knowledge of balanced nutrition and maternal feeding practice act as protective factors against the incidence of stunting. The odds of children aged 24-60 months experiencing stunting were 0.056 times lower if their mothers had sufficient knowledge of balanced nutrition compared to mothers with poor knowledge. Similarly, each 1-point increase in a mother's feeding practice score could reduce the incidence of stunting by 0.910 times compared to mothers with a feeding practice score one point lower. Conclusion: Maternal knowledge of balanced nutrition and maternal feeding practice are significantly associated with the incidence of stunting in children aged 24-60 months in the Puskesmas Siempat Rube working area.

Abstract

Pandemi COVID-19 telah merubah kegiatan pembelajaran yang biasanya dilakukan disekolah terpaksa dirumah secara dalam jaringan. Perubahan metode pembelajaran ini menimbulkan berbagai kesulitan yang dialami siswa dan guru. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui kesulitan-kesulitan belajar dalam pembelajaran daring pada siswa di SMK Negeri 1 Beringin selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Metode penelitian adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian dilakukan bulan November 2020 – Januari 2021. Populasi adalah seluruh siswa dan guru yang mengajar kelas XI Tata Boga dengan total sampel sebanyak 64 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang disebar melalui google form. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa menghadapi beberapa kesulitan dalam pembelajaran daring. Kesulitan-kesulitan dapat dilihat dari aspek siswa, lingkungan dan fasilitas yang tersedia, serta proses pembelajaran. Rendahnya motivasi dalam pembelajaran daring, kendala teknis yang mempengaruhi signal, ketidak mampuan dalam pembelajaran online, interaksi yang minim selama proses pembelajaran sehingga siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami materi serta tugas yang tidak dimengerti dalam pembelajaran online

Abstract

ABSTRAK Proses penilaian status gizi yang dilakukan oleh kader di posyandu dapat menjadi sumber data awal dalam mengidentifikasi masalah gizi pada balita khususnya stunting. Pengukuran panjang atau tinggi badan di posyandu di wilayah kerja Poskesdes Bandar Setia masih menggunakan alat metline yang kurang cocok untuk melakukan pengukuran panjang atau tinggi badan. Meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader terkait penilaian status gizi balita dan interpretasinya. Tim pengabdian memberikan pendampingan mengenai cara melakukan penilaian status gizi yang tepat beserta interpretasinya terutama untuk mengukur panjang atau tinggi badan dalam menentukan stunting atau tidaknya balita yang diukur. Selain itu, tim pengabdian memberikan alat pengukur tinggi badan dan lingkar kepala untuk melengkapi alat pengukuran status gizi yang sudah tersedia di posyandu. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan pendampingan tersebut, pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader terkait cara penilaian status gizi meningkat. Harapannya setelah dibekali cara penilaian dan pelaporan status gizi balita, para kader dapat membantu mengidentifikasi baduta yang berisiko mengalami stunting di posyandu masing-masing untuk diberikan intervensi pencegahan stunting. Pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader terkait penilaian status gizi balita dan interpretasinya meningkat. Lebih lanjut kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat membantu program pemerintah dalam menurunkan prevalensi stunting di Indonesia, khususnya di Desa Bandar Setia. Kata Kunci: Balita, Kader Posyandu, Stunting  ABSTRACT The nutritional assessment by cadres in Posyandu might provide preliminary information for identifying nutritional problems in under-five children, particularly stunting. Measurement of length or height at the posyandu in the Bandar Setia Poskesdes working area still uses a tape measure which is unsuitable for measuring length or height. Improve the knowledge and skills of cadres related to the nutritional assessment of under-five children and their interpretation. The team provided assistance on how to conduct a proper nutritional assessment and its interpretation, especially for measuring length or height in determining whether or not the measured toddler is stunted. In addition, the team provided height and head circumference measuring devices to complement the nutritional status measurement tools already available at the posyandu. After participating in the mentoring activities, the cadres' knowledge and skills related to nutritional assessment increased. It is anticipated that after learning how to assess and report the nutritional status of toddlers, cadres can help identify under-fives at risk of stunting in their respective posyandu to be given stunting prevention interventions. The cadres' knowledge and skills related to the assessment of the nutritional status of children under five and its interpretation increased. Furthermore, this activity is expected to help government programs in reducing the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia, especially in Bandar Setia Village. Keywords: Children, Posyandu, Stunting

Abstract

Background: Nutritional knowledge in mothers is crucial in caring for toddlers. Providing nutrition has an impact on the growth and development of children. Breast milk contains complete nutrients. Exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months, followed by breastfeeding and complementary feeding, can prevent stunting. Objectives: This research aims to determine the correlation between maternal nutritional knowledge and history of breastfeeding with the occurrence of stunting in infants aged 24-59 months. Methods: The study was conducted in the working area of Angkup Community Health Center, Silinara District, Central Aceh. The study design was cross-sectional. A total sampling technique was used to select 38 toddlers. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The obtained results were analyzed using chi-square and multiple linear regression tests. Results: The analysis results showed an Asimp. Sig 0.020 < 0.05, indicating a significant association between maternal nutritional knowledge and the occurrence of stunting in toddlers. The analysis of breastfeeding also indicated an Asimp. Sig value of 0.004 < 0.05 suggests a significant association between breastfeeding and the occurrence of stunting in toddlers. Regression analysis demonstrated the influence of maternal nutritional knowledge and breastfeeding on the stunting variable by 35% in infants in the working area of Angkup Community Health Center, Central Aceh, from January to March 2022. Conclusions: The occurrence of stunting in the village of Angkup is related to maternal nutritional knowledge and the history of breastfeeding.

Abstract

This study aimed to measure nutritional knowledge and observe teachers' perceptions of delivering nutrition messages through an e-module within the junior high school curriculum. This study was conducted at SMPN 35 Medan and employed the quasi-experimental approach, and a one-group pretest-posttest design was used. This study’s population was students in grades 7 and 8. The minimum sample size was 102 students after adding 10% of the total sample size. Teachers' perceptions were taken from four subject teachers. Data were collected using a questionnaire survey and an interview. A focus group discussion was conducted with the teachers to gather information about their perceptions of using an e-module to deliver nutrition messages at school. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that the student's average total knowledge score before receiving the nutrition education intervention was 22.66. It increased to 26.48 after students received the intervention. Teachers used the e-module to deliver content learning about nutritional messages in schools and employed the e-module to deliver the relevant subject matters of nutrition messages at school. The teachers realized the importance of delivering nutrition messages to the students. The e-module could broaden the teachers’ horizons as they came to realize that nutrition messages could be delivered through various subjects. They initially believed that nutrition messages could only be taught in the subject of natural sciences. However, they discovered that nutrition messages could also be delivered in other subjects, such as mathematics, crafts, and physical education.

Abstract

Anak usia sekolah mempunyai peranan yang sangat besar dalam menentukan masa depan bangsa namun kelompok ini merupakan salah satu kelompok rentan masalah gizi. Berdasarkan observasi yang dilakukan di desa Bagan Asahan Pekan, status gizi kurang pada anak sekolah dasar sebesar 11% dan diatas rata-rata nasional. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan asupan protein dan pola makan dengan status gizi anak keluarga nelayan. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional, dan dilakukan di Desa Bagan Asahan Pekan. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling, sampel sebanyak 73 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner Semi Quantitativ Food Frequency Questionnaire, status gizi dengan mengukur berat badan dan tinggi badan. Analisis data menggunakan uji rank spearman dan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan asupan protein siswa baik sebesar 31.5%. Pola makan yang terbentuk adalah pola makan prudent dan western. Status gizi baik sebesar 79.5%. Uji rank spearman menunjukkan ada hubungan signikan antara asupan protein, pola makan prudent, dan pola makan western dengan status gizi. Analisis uji regresi linear berganda terdapat hubungan signikan antara asupan protein dan pola makan dengan status gizi anak sekolah. Nilai Adjusted R Square sebesar 0,639 menunjukkan asupan protein dan pola makan mempengaruhi status gizi sebesar 63.9%.

Abstract

Coronary heart disease (CHD) begins with blockage of blood vessels due to plaque buildup in the heart, which occurs when there is an excess of LDL cholesterol, causing damage to the blood vessels. Based on provincial data, the prevalence of heart disease in North Sumatra is 0.60% or around 48,469 cases. One of the causes of coronary heart disease is high fat intake and high LDL cholesterol levels. This study aims to identify the relationship between fat intake and LDL cholesterol levels in outpatients with coronary heart disease at the cardiology clinic of Dr. Pirngadi General Hospital in Medan. This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design and purposive sampling technique. The research sample consisted of all coronary heart disease patients who sought treatment at the cardiology clinic of Dr. Pirngadi General Hospital in Medan, totaling 50 respondents aged 25-85 years. The results showed that 58% of patients had a high fat intake (>25% of total energy requirements) and 68% had LDL cholesterol levels (≥130 mg/dL). The analysis results showed a relationship between fat intake and LDL cholesterol levels (ρ=0.022; r=0.324). There was a positive and significant but weak correlation between fat intake and LDL cholesterol levels in outpatients with coronary heart disease at Dr. Pirngadi General Hospital in Medan.

Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan gizi yang diakibatkan oleh kurangnya asupan makan dan menyebabkan gangguan pada tumbuh kembang anak adalah stunting. Angka stunting di Indonesia masih tinggi, berdasarkan Hasil Studi Status Gizi Indonesia (2022) di Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai angka stunting sebesar 21.1% dan salah satu upaya penanganan balita stunting melalui pemanfaatan pangan lokal menjadi makanan kaya gizi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat mempunyai tujuan 1) untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kader Posyandu dan ibu-ibu yang memiliki balita stunting mengenai stunting, pola asuh dan upaya pencegahan, 2) meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu yang memiliki balita stunting mengenai manajemen usaha pemanfaatan pangan lokal menjadi frozen food untuk memenuhi kebutuhan protein balita dan menambah pendapatan keluarga. Metode edukasi yang digunakan yaitu melalui penyuluhan dengan menggunakan media Powerpoint dan Booklet. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan tahapan pre-test, pemberian edukasi melalui penyuluhan tentang stunting beserta pecegahannya, dan terakhir adalah post-test. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji Paired Samples T-Test. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan nilai rata-rata pengetahuan peserta sebesar 23.75 poin dengan nilai signifikasi sebesar 0.000 (<0.05), sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa edukasi yang dilakukan memberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan kader Posyandu dan ibu-ibu balita terkait stunting dan manajemen usaha.Peningkatan pengetahuan ini diharapkan kader posyandu dan ibu balita secara aktif dapat menerapkan pengetahuan yang diperoleh, seperti dalam pemberian makanan bergizi seimbang dan pengelolaan usaha berbasis pangan lokal.
