Abstract

Background & Objective: Hypertension is a major health problem in the elderly and is closely linked to increased morbidity and mortality. Poor adherence to antihypertensive medication remains a challenge, particularly in developing countries. Psychological factors such as depression, anxiety, and stress may further reduce adherence. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between psychological conditions and treatment adherence among elderly hypertensive patients at the Geriatric Clinic of Ulin Regional General Hospital, Banjarmasin. Methods: A cross-sectional analytical survey was conducted from March to July 2025 involving 85 elderly patients diagnosed with hypertension. Participants were selected using purposive sampling. Adherence was measured using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8), while depression, anxiety, and stress were assessed using the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21). Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of p < 0.05. Results: The findings showed that 50.6% of respondents experienced moderate depression, 54.1% severe anxiety, and 42.4% moderate stress. Most respondents (60%) demonstrated low adherence to antihypertensive treatment. Statistical analysis indicated a significant association between psychological conditions and adherence (p = 0.000). Conclusion: Depression, anxiety, and stress are significantly associated with poor adherence. Integrating psychological support into hypertension management may improve adherence and reduce complications in the elderly.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that is often found in children in Indonesia. The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is still quite high, namely reaching 32.8% in clowns. Even though there was a decrease in the prevalence of stunting in 2018 for both toddlers and toddlers, it still has not reached the expected target. Stunting can affect a child's physical and mental development, including intelligence and learning ability. To prevent stunting, comprehensive treatment is needed for all parties related to children's growth, namely parents, especially mothers, families, the environment and health workers in monitoring children's growth. Therefore, early prevention of stunting is very important to prevent and overcome this problem. One way to prevent early stunting is through anthropometric measurements. Body weight is an important anthropometric measure and is used in infants and young children. In babies and early childhood, body weight can be used to see the rate of physical growth and nutritional status. Common anthropometric indices used to assess nutritional status are weight for age (WW/U), height for age (TB/U), and weight for height (WW/TB). The aim of the community service is to provide outreach to mothers of children in Manarap Baru village regarding early prevention of stunting in children with anthropometric examinations such as the child's weight and height according to age.

Method using a quantitative method with a cross sectional approach. The research sample of 36 people was then carried out the Chi-Square test. Based on the results of knowledge analysis on self efficacy, it showed a p-value of 0.01 <0.05 which means that there was a significant relationship between PMR students' knowledge and self efficacy in providing first aid for splint dressing. There needs to be follow-up and coordination by the school in providing first aid materials to students in a sustainable manner, with good knowledge, the self-efficacy of students in providing first aid is also good.

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is a critical indicator for assessing the quality of nursing services in hospitals, particularly in general surgery wards, where high-quality services can enhance recovery and reduce complications. In Indonesia, research on patient satisfaction in general surgery wards is limited, while patient visitation rates continue to rise annually. Therefore, understanding the factors influencing patient satisfaction is essential for improving nursing services. This study aims to evaluate the inpatient satisfaction levels with nursing services in the general surgery ward of Puruk Cahu Regional General Hospital. The research design is a descriptive quantitative study using a cross-sectional approach, involving all patients hospitalized in the general surgery ward during the study period. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire adapted from the five Servqual dimensions: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The data analysis technique used is univariate descriptive to understand the distribution of patient satisfaction levels. The results show that the assurance and empathy dimensions have the highest satisfaction levels, while tangibles received the lowest scores, indicating a need for improvement in the hospital's physical facilities. Overall, most patients are satisfied with the services provided, but there is still a need for improvements in certain aspects to enhance the patient experience. In conclusion, patient satisfaction with nursing services in the general surgery ward of Puruk Cahu Regional General Hospital is generally good, with a need for improvement in the tangibles and communication dimensions. These findings are expected to serve as a foundation for hospital management to enhance the quality of nursing services through facility improvements and enhanced communication skills of the nursing staff.
