Abstract

Fruit juice concentrate can be contaminated during production process or distribution. One of the contaminant is a bacterium, e.g., Bacillus thermoacidurans. The quality of fruit juice concentrate contaminated by bacteria will  be degraded, and can be even harmful to consumers and loss to the producer. This article discusses a pollution handling strategy of fruit juice concentrate, by designing emergency planning system prototype that is called CONSEPS 2001 (Concentrate Juice Emergency Planning System 2001).  The considered alternatives for handling scenario are pulling the whole polluted products or destroying the entire polluted products. The alternatives were selected  based on effectivity and efficiency consideration.

Abstract

 Main problem in sugar production is inefficiency of process due to unreliable old machines and equipments. The second problem is low performance of sugar processing, and the third is due to the inefficiency of production management inovation of the company. The objectives of this research were to identify sugar process production factors, process monitoring and capability measurement in each step of process, identification of critical points on sugar processing, production efficiency in PG Jatitujuh, to construct the decision support system for formulating cane sugar production process control. We named the system as SWEETCON.PROSION which is able to provide alternatives for monitoring the production process, and for maintaining scheduling. This system consists of a model base management system, a database management system, and a dialogue management system that are integrated within a central processing system. It is suported with four models, namely critical component model, process performance model, production efficiency model, and process control model. Process performance analysis shows that all of the process stations were under controlled. Critical component analysis shows that extraction machines was the most critical component. Relative efficiency analysis of each indicator shows that all indicators were efficient. However, absolute efficiency analysis showed that the final product environment and input were inefficient both technically and economically. It is shown that technical efficiency of final product environmental was 31.90%, technical efficiency of input was 73%, economical efficiency of final product environmental was 43% and economical efficiency of input was 125.5%. The overall decision hierarchy process control analysis shows that the milling station was the most critical process, and it is to be controlled accordingly. Abstract

ABSTRACT Regional development is undertaken by governments with the aim of improving the prosperity of people.  It is closely related to phenomenon of globalization and regional autonomy. Strategic objective attempts to increase regional competitiveness significantly. Commodity based development is a concept of development which is used in most regions in Indonesia, however the performance of agroindustry has not been optimal yet. This is part of problems associated with technology management aspect. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a measurement model to determine the status of technology as indicator of region competitiveness, construct the model mapping technology status of a region and create a model of the selection policy for the development of agroindustry. The process consists of analysis of several aspect, those are technological component, technological ability, technological climate and technological infrastructure. Analyses were done using the system approaches with fuzzy logic and artificial neural network covering: Fuzzy Inference System, Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and Fuzzy–Analytical Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy–AHP).  Through this phase, regional competitiveness can be assessed and improvement policy as consequences on the technologycal achievement can be developed. Abstract

ABSTRACT  The objective of this research was to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) for optimization of waste utilization of palm oil mill waste. The waste studied here focused on one that can be used by the oil palm industry, namely empty fruit bunch (EFB). The computerized model of decision support system for optimization of EFB utilization developed was called PW Optima 1.0. Goal  Programming (GP) combined with Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) were used for the optimization. Priority of several goals in the GP was determined by the AHP method. That goal targets of optimization of EFB utilization were an affordable cost, a minimize level of environmental pollution and maximum benefit. Abstract

ABSTRACT  The use of biofertilizer provides many benefits, including the increase of agricultural production, quality improvement of agricultural products, as well as reduce of the use of artificial fertilizer. One of such biofertilizer is Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF). In cultivation of AMF, there are some environment factors which influence cultivation effectiveness, such as soil pH, mean temperature, soil water content, and suitability of host plant.  Incompatible factor can give negative impact on AMF cultivation. This research designed an expert system to observe effectiveness value of AMF cultivation based on certain environment factors. This research focused on three AMF species, namely Entrophospora columbiana, Glomus fasciculatum, and Glomus manihotis. This system was built using Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) with four fuzzy parameters: suitability of host plant, soil pH, mean temperature, and soil water content.  Rules as knowledge base had been built with total 144 rules for each AMF species. Mamdani method was used as inference process. The system gave cultivation effectiveness value as output. The effectiveness value showed how effective cultivation process on certain input condition as compared to its best condition. The effectiveness value was also divided into four categories: not effective, slightly effective, moderately effective, and effective. Based on verification result, the system was still unable to gives an accurate effectiveness percentage, although it was quite good on giving right effectiveness category. To be used in real condition, this system must still be developed further. For example, the reasoning system should be added with other factors, such as cultivation time and type of cultivation media.   Keywords: biofertilizer, arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, fuzzy expert system, Mamdani method

Abstract

ABSTRACT  A performance measurement model is a necessary tool for beef cattle supply chain network optimization. The performance measurement is conducted to support an objective planning, the performance evaluation, and determination of the future steps in strategic, tactical and operational levels. The purposes of this research were (i) to study the beef cattle supply chain management, (ii) to analyze the value added in each member of supply chain, and (iii) to analyze supply chain management performance.  The methods used in this research were Hayami value added method and the Balanced Scorecard model combined with Fuzzy AHP.  Beef cattle supply chain started from beef cattle importer as a supplier, PT Kariyana Gita Utama as producer (feedloter), and distributors (brokers and traders cutter) as customer. Based on the mechanism of the supply chain of beef cattle indicates that there were six models of the supply chain. Each model had a market segment that was affected by the prevailing system among members of the supply chain, customer location, and product quality. The measurement of value added in each member showed that small-scale trader (trader cutter) got the highest value added about 10.44%. The performance measurement of supply chain in PT Kariyana Gita Utama in 2009 showed that the total of target attainment was about 88.05%. Customer perspective was the highest of target attainment about 107.10%, and financial perspective was the lowest of target attainment about 78.97%. Keywords:  performance measurement, supply chain, balanced scorecard, fuzzy AHP, beef cattle

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Main backgrounds of developing model of intelligent decision support  systems, for searching the most optimum supply path in palm oil based bio-energy supply chain management, are importance of supply chain management concept implementation in doing business activities that involve more than one companies; importance of palm oil based bio-energy management availability; and difficulty of management and searching of the most optimum path of perishable product supply chain. The objectives of this paper were the explanation of setting optimum value and searching the most optimum path of palm oil based bio-energy supply chain. The method used in this paper was combination of Balance Score Card (BSC), Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR), and ant colony optimization (SCO) methods. On the other hand, this paper explained the model suggestion of the most optimum path and comparation of developed model with the common model (shortest path). In conclusion, the developed model gave more  optimum result than shortest path mehod gave. Furthermore, the model could show the optimum value that was generated from supply chain perspectives. It was better than shortest path method. Whereas, the shortest path method showed only the shortest path that involved only one variable, distance. Abstract

ABSTRACT The sustainability operation of an agroindustrial production system in a competitive global market shall be supported by  capital structural elements  (investment and working capital) that concern with assets, liability, and profitability of a company. Banking (conventional and syariah),  as the most important financial intermediation institution of the national economic system (Arifin, 2002),  has to feature small and medium enterprise (SME) in agroindustrial sector. The SME can strengthen the national economy, support the national industrial development objective, become the “back bone” of national economy, and answer important issues related with Indonesian reformation process (ADB, 2001). The feasibility study of the SME agroindustrial working capital loan that utillizes risk level concept and intelligent system method shall be done due to its complexity and uncertainty. The research aims to formulate the ANFIS structure in neuro-fuzzy system that is supported by risk level concept and feasibility study method of working capital loan worthiness evaluation, and verification.The result is a standard operating procedure (SOP) of intelligent worthiness evaluation of small and medium agroindustrial working capital loan, i.e. fuzzy inference system (FIS) and training process of fhe system. The conclusion is a model formulation process of FIS Takagi-Sugeno-Kang’s type, that integrates the training process of artifical neural network model with risk level as the parameter in regulating the rules, and weighted score in determining fuzzy score (risk level) interval. The verification indicates that to reach Accept A/clean worthiness in loan decision based on the FIS result, the evaluation of aspect judgment should be well, with the low risk level of aspect criteries (conventional and syariah banking). The result of training in FIS is the prediction of debtor condition, where the best condition is compulsory to reach commonly the low risk level towards the worthiness. The submitted sugesstion is the SOP development as an intelligent decision support system (IDSS) that shall be integrated based on neuro-fuzzy system, ANFIS and others, to reduce the limitation in steps of model implementation  (resources : human, software and hardware), and has the suitable weight of the worthiness aspects Key  words : Intelligent, Evaluation, Worthiness, SME, Agroindustry

Abstract

ABSTRACTIn order to accelerate increasing of technology capability of  made tea industries in Indonesia, it requires study on  technology components. Surveys was conducted on eight  made tea companies.  Ordered weighted averaging (OWA) analysis was applied to determine level of technology components condition.  Non numeric multi-criteria multi-person analysis was applied to determine the level of technology capability in Indonesian made tea industry. The research results  show that the level of technology component condition namely technoware, humanware, infoware, and orgaware  are still in medium level, respectively.  The technology component condition should be in high level, in order to increase  technology capability to medium level.  In term of strategic management of improving the capability of technology, most of respondents (75%) selected improvement continuously. Therefore, this strategy should be treated as an action program of Indonesian Tea Association (ITA) as well as government.Keywords : capability, technology, processing, made tea.

Abstract

ABSTRACTGlobalization era has forced company to increase its product quality so it can be the winner in competition. In tea world, problems that Indonesia has to face are decreasing of tea price, decreasing amount of tea market, and increasing amount of tea that unsold in joint market office (KPB Jakarta). Alternatives that can be used to overcome these problems are increasing tea farm work, adjust tea quality in accordance to the customer demands and controling the tea production process.STRAKTA-THO is a system to formulate strategy to increase tea quality that contains centralization process system, basic data management system (data of tea farm work, data of customer quality tea, data of production), basic model management (Balanced Scorecard model, Quality Function Deployment  model, Statistical Process Controlmodel, strategy model), and dialog model management system. STRAKTA-THO was implemented and verified using data of Gedeh tea farm from year 2000 to 2002. BSC model verification show that Gedeh tea farm performance is in good status with total score of 4,403. Customer tea quality are tea variety, tea grade, and tea watering taste. Priorities of process production are quality handling of tea, withering and spooling-milling. The best priority of  aplicated strategy in Gedeh tea farm is quality handling strategy of ISO 9001;2000.Key words : tea quality improvement strategy, Balanced Scorecard, Quality Function Deployment
