Abstract

Given the crucial role of knowledge creation in contemporary business enterprises, a fundamental question arises: what processes are facilitating knowledge creation?  This study aims to find the answer. This study investigates the interrelations among four categories of knowledge assets (experiential, conceptual, systemic, and routine) and four categories of SECI model for knowledge creation processes (socialization, externalization, combination , and internalization). In our framework, we argue that different types of knowledge assets may have differing influences on knowledge creation. In order to test the feasibility of this framework, we conducted an empirical research exercise.  Data were collected from three dairy cooperations in Java, Indonesia through a survey instrument. A total of 105 usable responses were analysed. We employed regression analysis, ANOVA and canonical correlation analysis to examine the separate correlations. We identified four responses interrelationhips from this study. Compared to other knowledge assets, conceptual knowledge assets have a greater effect on socialization of knowledge creation process. Experiential knowledge assets have  a greater effect on combination. Routine knowledge assets have a greater effect on externalization of knowledge creation process. Systemic knowledge assets have a greater effect on internalization of knowledge creation process.

Abstract

To meet the needs of the national corn on the feed industry that requires a continuous supply of raw materials with a definite quantity throughout the year, in the national maize production conditions that is not continuous and fluctuating, it is necessary supply planning and storage methods to avoid the risk of maize corn supply crisis form of food shortages or rising feed prices. One method is to apply the concept of supply chain risk management. The high level of dependence and complexity of networks makes supply chain of agricultural products supply chain is becoming more vulnerable to interference. The risk of supply chain disturbance can occur internally (the relation between the organization with a network of suppliers) and external (between network suppliers with the environment). Therefore it is necessary to identify and evaluate supply chain risks in order to avoid continuing problems that can occur at any point in the supply chain network. The objective of this study is to describe the model of identification and evaluation for maize supply chain risk. This model can be used to identify the dominant risk factors and variables at each level of supply chain so that it will be obtained appropriate recommendations action to anticipate them. Risk identification will be conducted with fuzzy AHP approach and risk evaluation would be done by using fuzzy logic with data input form the opinion of several experts maize supply chain.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to provide a structured modelling of business intelligence system for helping decision makers in banking IT management to extract external competitive information, to anticipate business environment changes, and to make appropriate and effective business decisions. Using a system perspective where the focus is on the interaction between dependent and independent variables, this study shows how IT management could use neural network to help improve the strategy formulation process. Combined with a business intelligence roadmap, the system has an ability to process internal and external data as well as providing intelligence analysis to determine IT strategy to anticipate competition. Expert system and artificial neural network were used in this competition submodel to predict bank’s transaction cost strategies which gives some priority actions for management to decide the best IT cost strategy such as focus, differentiation, and overall cost leadership.

Abstract

In year 2009, the agricultural sector contributed around 15% of Indonesia’s GDP, and absorbed around 44 million of total workforce. As the biggest GDP contributor and workforce absorption within the sector, foodcrops holds a strategic role in providing national food security. In line with ensuring food security program government has promulgated a national agricultural revitalization agenda, which one of the programs is providing a financing scheme for small scale farmer. At the implementation level, the program was not performed yet, due to the weaknesses of existing institutions. In turn it resulted in the significant gap of financing and investment in the agricultural sector. The aim of this research is to design a model of financial institution a nation wide level, focussing on foodcrops financing using Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM) which then supported by Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The combination of ISM, systems approach and AHP are designated to accommodate the complexity of the object. The respondents involved are experts from various related institutions.  ISM analysis indicated that price stability, government commitment, geographic coverage, suitability of the institution with local conditions, and return of investment are strong sub-elements drivers among the sub-elements of the system. The recommendation of institution design by using AHP is to develop a new non-bank financial institution, set up by the government that focuses their financing baesd on supply chain approach.
