Abstract

Kayu manis (Cinnamomum burmanii) memiliki aktivitas sebagai antioksidan. Senyawa antioksidan dapat digunakan untuk menghambat atau memperlambat proses oksidasi. Proses oksidasi pada tubuh salah satunya karena sering mengkonsumsi obat-obatan misalnya parasetamol. Efek negatif dari overdosis parasetamol akan menyebabkan kerusakan hepar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak kayu manis terhadap gambaran histopatologi dan kadar SGOT- SGPT hepar tikus yang diinduksi parasetamol. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel 20 ekor tikus putih jantan Wistar berumur 2-3 bulan dengan berat badan ± 200 gram. Sampel dibagi dalam empat kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan (P1, P2, P3). Masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari lima ekor tikus. Kelompok kontrol diberi pakan standar dan air minum, kelompok perlakuan diberi pakan standar, air minum, parasetamol, dan ekstrak kayu manis selama 21 hari. Pada hari ke-22, tikus dinekropsi, diambil darah dan organ heparnya untuk selanjutnya dibuat preparat histologi dan menghitung kadar SGOT-SGPT. Perubahan histopatologi yang diamati berupa degenerasi parenkimatosa, hidropik, dan nekrosis. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji One Way Anova. Analisis data menggunakan One Way Anova diperoleh hasil nilai sig. 0,039< 0,05, hal ini membuktikan bahwa rata-rata skor sel hepar yang rusak antar kelompok perlakuan berbeda signifikan. Hasil uji LSD menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor kerusakan hepar kelompok parasetamol berbeda dengan kelompok kontrol, P2, dan P3. Hasil nilai sig. 0,001< 0,05, untuk kadar SGOT-SGPT membuktikan bahwa kelompok parasetamol berbeda dengan kelompok kontrol, P2, dan P3. Hasil uji LSD kadar SGOT-SGPT menunjukkan bahwa kelompok P1 lebih tinggi daripada kelompok kontrol, P2, dan P3. Hasil uji regresi linier, dosis ekstrak kayu manis 320 mg/KgBB adalah dosis yang paling efektif, sehingga dengan ekstrak kayu manis dapat memperbaiki dan menurunkan kadar SGOT-SGPT hepar tikus yang diinduksi parasetamol. Cinnamonhasantioxidant activity. This study used a sample of 20 male Wistar rats aged 2-3 months with body weight ± 200 grams. The samples were divided into four groups, namely the control and treatment groups (P1, P2, P3). Each group consists of five rats. The control group was given the standard feed and drinking water, the treatment groups were given the standard feed, drinking water, paracetamol and cinnamon extract for 21 days. On day 22nd, the mice were sacrificed, blood and hepar organs were taken then made preparations for histology and calculate SGOT-SGPT. Histopathological changes were observed as parenchimatose degeneration, hydropic and necrosis. Data were analyzed by using One Way Anova. Data analysis using One Way Anova results obtained sig. 0.039 <0.05, this proves that the average scores of damaged liver cells differ significantly between treatment groups. LSD results indicate that the average score og liver damage paracetamol group different from the control group, P2, and P3. Results sig. 0.001 <0.05, for SGOT-SGPT proved that paracetamol group different from the control group, P2, and P3. LSD test results showed that the levels of SGOT-SGPT group P1 is higher than the control group, P2, and P3. Regression analysis, a cinnamomum dose of 320 mg/KgBW is the most effective dose, so that the cinnamon extract can improve and reduce levels of SGOT-SGPT paracetamol-induced rat liver.

Abstract

Electric cigarettes are cigarettes that operate with battery power to burn liquids to produce steam. One ingredient of electric cigarettes that is the same as that in tobacco cigarettes is nicotine. Nicotine is a substance that can cause a person to become addicted, so if a person consumes continuously the body can experience oxidative stress. This is indicated by an increase in MDA levels and a decrease in SOD levels. This study aims to determine the effect of nicotine in e-cigarettes on MDA and SOD levels in blood. The study was conducted on 30 male white rats of the Wistar strain divided into 5 groups, namely the control group (-), control (+), KP1 (electric cigarette with nicotine 3mg) and KP2 (electric cigarettes with nicotine 6mg), and KP3 (cigarettes electric with nicotine 9mg) and exposure to cigarette smoke for 30 days. Data were analyzed by non parametric kruskal wallis and Man Whiteney tests for MDA levels and one way anova test and LSD further testing for SOD levels. The results of the statistical analysis showed that MDA and SOD levels in the control group (-) were significantly different from all groups. The conclusion of this study is that nicotine has an effect on increasing MDA levels and decreasing SOD levels. Rokok elektrik merupakan rokok yang beroperasi dengan tenaga baterai untuk membakar cairan sehingga menghasilkan uap. Salah satu kandungan dari rokok elektrik yang sama dengan yang ada di rokok tembakau adalah nikotin. Nikotin merupakan suatu zat yang dapat menyebabkan seseorang menjadi kecanduan, sehingga jika seseorang mengonsumsi terus menerus maka tubuh dapat mengalami stress oksidatif. Hal ini ditandai dengan adanya peningkatan kadar MDA dan penurunan kadar SOD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh nikotin dalam rokok elektrik terhadap kadar MDA dan SOD pada darah. Penelitian dilakukan pada 30 ekor tikus putih jantan galur Wistar yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol (-), kontrol (+), KP1 (rokok elektrik dengan nikotin 3mg) dan KP2 (rokok elektrik dengan nikotin 6mg), dan KP3 (rokok elektrik dengan nikotin 9mg) dan paparan asap rokok selama 30 hari. Data dianalisis dengan uji non parametric kruskal wallis dan Man Whiteney untuk kadar MDA dan uji one way anova dan uji lanjut LSD untuk kadar SOD. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan kadar MDA dan SOD pada kelompok kontrol (-) berbeda nyata dengan semua kelompok. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah nikotin berpengaruh pada peningkatan kadar MDA dan penurunan kadar SOD

Abstract

Electric cigarettes are cigarettes that are used with battery power, but do not burn tobacco like ordinary cigarette products. Electric cigarettes were initially said to be safe for health because nicotine solutions contained in e-cigarettes only consist of a mixture of water, propylene glycol, flavor enhancing substances, the aroma of tobacco, and other compounds that do not contain tar, tobacco or other toxic substances common in tobacco cigarettes. Electric cigarettes contain free radical compounds that can cause oxidative stress. In conditions of oxidative stress, free radical compounds increase lipid peroxide. In normal enzyme activity, an increase in the concentration of substrate, namely the molecule hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) can increase enzyme activity. But when the active side of all enzymes binds to the substrate, the addition of the substrate cannot increase the speed of the next enzyme reaction, resulting in a decrease in enzyme activity. This study aimed to analyze the levels of GPx and catalase in rat blood exposed to electrocution cigarettes. The study was conducted on 30 male white rats of Wistar strain which were divided into 5 groups, namely K- (negative control), K + (positive control), KP1 (treatment 1), KP2 (treatment 2) and KP3 (treatment 3). The K + group is a positive control group with 3 cigarettes and KP1, KP2, KP3 electric cigarette treatment groups treated with e-cigarettes with a dose of nicotine 3 mg, 6 mg, 9 mg for 30 days. To find out the difference in GPx and catalase levels, each group was analyzed by using one way annova and LSD for parametric test, while for non-parametric tests using the kruskal wallis test and Mann Whitney test. The results of the analysis showed that all between groups K-, K +, KP1, KP2 and KP3 were significantly different, in the KP3 group had the level of Gpx (40.25 ± 2.03e) and catalase (2.46 ± 9.50e) which was the lowest due to exposure electric cigarette with the highest dose of nicotine which is 9 mg. Keywords: Electric cigarettes, GPx, catalase, Rokok elektrik, GPx, katalase Rokok elektrik adalah rokok yang digunakan dengan tenaga baterai, namun tidak membakar tembakau seperti produk rokok biasa. Rokok elektrik pada awalnya dikatakan aman bagi kesehatan karena larutan nikotin yang terdapat pada rokok elektrik hanya terdiri dari campuran air, propilen glikol, zat penambah rasa, aroma tembakau, serta senyawa-senyawa lain yang tidak mengandung tar, tembakau atau zat-zat toksik lain yang umum terdapat pada rokok tembakau. Rokok elektrik mengandung senyawa radikal bebas yang dapat menyebabkan stress oksidatif. Pada kondisi stress oksidatif, senyawa radikal bebas meningkatkan peroksida lipid. Dalam aktivitas enzim yang normal, peningkatan konsentrasi subtrat, yaitu molekul hidrogen peroksida (H2O2) dapat meningkatkan aktivitas enzim. Namun pada saat sisi aktif semua enzim berikatan dengan substrat, penambahan substrat tidak dapat meningkatkan kecepatan reaksi enzim selanjutnya, sehingga terjadi penurunan aktivitas enzim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kadar GPx dan katalase pada darah tikus yang dipapar rokok elktrik. Penelitian dilakukan pada 30 ekor tikus putih jantan galur Wistar yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok, yaitu K- (kontrol negatif), K+ (kontrol positif), KP1 (perlakuan 1), KP2 (perlakuan 2) dan KP3 (perlakukan 3). Kelompok K+ merupakan kelompok kontrol positif dengan perlakuan rokok elektrik 3 batang dan kelompok KP1, KP2, KP3 merupakan kelompok perlakukan dengan rokok elektrik dosis nikotin 3 mg, 6 mg, 9 mg selama 30 hari. Untuk mengetahui perbedaan kadar GPx dan katalase setiap kelompok dilakukan analalisis data menggunakan uji one way annova dan LSD untuk parametrik sedangkan untuk non parametrik menggunakan uji kruskal wallis dan uji mann whitney. Hasil analisis menunjukkan semua antar kelompok K-, K+, KP1, KP2 dan KP3 berbeda nyata, pada kelompok KP3 memiliki kadar Gpx (40,25 ± 2,03e) dan katalase (2,46 ± 9,50e) yang paling rendah akibat dipapar rokok elektrik dengan dosis nikotin paling tinggi yaitu 9 mg. Abstract

Cassava leaves contain sodium (Na), potassium (K), and iron (Fe) which can increase the body's blood pressure. In addition, the chemical content of cassava leaves can also act as an anti-hypertension agent. However, cassava leaves also contain hydrogen cyanide (HCN) which at certain doses can cause toxic effects. This study aims to determine the safety of long-term consumption by observing the damage to gastric organ cells in Wistar rats after administration of cassava leaf extract (Manihot uttilisima Pohl.) for 90 days. Cassava leaf extract was made by maceration method using distilled water as a solvent. This research is an experimental laboratory research with a posttest only control group research design. This study used 36 Wistar rats which were randomly divided into 4 groups consisting of group I (control) given 10 ml/w of distilled water, group II (treatment group) given cassava leaf extract 80 mg/bb, group III (treatment group) given cassava leaf extract 400 mg/bb, group IV (treatment group) was given cassava leaf extract 2000 mg/bb. Organ sampling was carried out after 90 days of treatment, all rats were killed by cervical dislocation, then their stomach organs were taken. To determine the histopathological structure between the control group and the treatment group, the data from the gastric histopathological test of Wistar rats were analyzed using descriptive analysis. did not affect the histopathological structure of the stomach of Wistar rats. Daun singkong mengandung natrium (Na), kalium (K), dan besi (Fe) yang mampu meningkatkan tekanan darah tubuh.Selain itu, kandungan kimia dari daun singkong juga dapat berperan sebagai agen anti hipotensi. Akan tetapi, pada daun singkong juga mengandung hidrogen sianida (HCN) yang pada dosis tertentu dapat menyebabkan efek toksik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keamananan konsumsi jangka panjang dengan melihat kerusakan sel organ lambung pada tikus Wistar setelah pemberian ekstrak daun singkong (Manihot uttilisima Pohl.) selama 90 hari. Ekstrak daun singkong dibuat dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut akuades. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratorik dengan rancangan penelitian postest only control group. Penelitian ini menggunakan 36 ekor tikus Wistar yang secara acak dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok terdiri dari kelompok I (kontrol) diberi akuades 10 ml/bb, kelompok II (kelompok perlakuan) diberi ekstrak daun singkong 80 mg/bb, kelompok III (kelompok perlakuan) diberi ekstrak daun singkong 400 mg/bb, kelompok IV (kelompok perlakuan) diberi ekstrak daun singkong 2000 mg/bb. Pengambilan sampel organ dilakukan setelah 90 hari perlakuan, semua tikus dimatikan denggan cara dislokasi cervicalis, kemudian organ lambungnya diambil. Untuk mengetahui struktur histopatologi antara kelompok kontrol dan kelompok perlakuan data hasil uji histopatologi lambung tikus Wistar dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif.Hasil penelitian menunjukan pemberian ekstrak daun singkong secara oral selama 90 hari pada dosis 80mg/bb,400 mg/ bb, dan 2000 mg/ bb tidak memberikan pengaruh pada gambaran struktur histopatologi lambung tikus Wistar.

Abstract

The training of intensive breeding management has been carried out for duck farmers at district Wedung - Demak, on July-August 2013. The training was conducted in three activities, namely: (a) the transfer of knowledge about technique of preparing duck feed by available material, intensive maintenance , and incubator hatching technique; (b) implementation of intensive maintenance for the fertile eggs product, and (c) the practice of using the hatching incubator. Participants were duck farmer at Mutih Kulon and Tedunan, that maintain their ducks with extensive (grazing method). The results showed that the 27 participants who took the training have never been participated in the training of duck management. The reason of farmer breeding with grazing method, because they follow the habits of their parents. Most participants know that the maintenance of grazing method is bad, and they know that the intensive maintenance will increase the profits. The Proximate analysis of ration duck showed that its composition has taught balanced feed criteria. Production of eggs in the intensive maintenance hatchability reached 92%, eventhough the experiment at the farmer level reached 70.5% only.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectivity of the leaf garbage composting process were given three different kinds of activators.The material composed are chopped leaf garbage and goat manure in the ratio of 3: 2, and make in three activators treatments. There are activators of orange peel waste, vegetable waste and EM4 product as a comparison. Compost is harvested after the composting process lasted for 21 days. The variables measured include (1) changes in daily temperature, pH, humidity compost during the composting process, (2) quality parameters such as physical parameters (texture, colour, odor, and depreciation), and chemical parameters (water content, pH, and C/N ratio). All of data were analyzed descriptively. The changes of daily temperature, pH, and humidity on EM4 compost activator treatment showed highest depreciation (39.3%) followed by compost with vegetable Mol and waste orange peel ( 31.6% and 29.8%), while the graphs of pH and humidity appear constant during this process. Accordance with the percentage of the depreciation, C/N ratio of the compost with EM4 activator showed the lowest (14.73). Generally, parameters of texture, colour and odor no different, as well as the water content and pH. This study concludes that composting treatment successfully and produce compost according to the criteria of SNI standard Number 19-7030-2004.

Abstract

Teaching material supplements were developed based on an analysis of students' needs in the use of learning resources used in everyday life. In the process of learning biology, understanding the concept is very important to be mastered by students. Concept understanding helps students remember the lessons they have learned over a long period of time. This study aims to determine the feasibility of teaching material supplements in biology learning. This research is a Research and Development study which refers to the steps (1) potential and problems; (2) data collection; (3) product design; (4) design validation; (5) design revision; (6) product testing; (7) product revision; (8) final production. The parameters of the feasibility of teaching material supplements are seen from the material validation, media validation, teacher responses, student responses and concept understanding tests. The results of the study obtained data that the validity of the material showed a score of 83.7% with very valid criteria, the validity of the media showed a score of 95.1% with very valid criteria, the responses of students' responses showed 82.625% results with very feasible criteria, the teacher's response showed 86.6% results with very feasible criteria. as well as classical completeness of the concept understanding test reached 91.17% provided that students achieved a mastery score of ≥ 70 and an average n-gain of 0.55 in the moderate category. The conclusion of this research is that shisha research-based teaching material supplements are suitable for use as learning materials on the circulatory system.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengembangan pembelajaran sistem saraf dalam rangka meningkatkan sikap positif siswa terhadap pencegahan penyalahgunaan narkoba. Penelitian ini menggunakan RD (Research and Development) dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas XI SMA I Kragan. Variabel yang akan diungkap dalam penelitian adalah kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran, sikap positif siswa terhadap upaya pencegahan penyalahgunaan narkoba, respon siswa dan kesan guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran dalam kategori sangat baik, aktifitas siswa dalam pembelajaran dalam kategori sangat baik, terdapat peningkatan sikap positif siswa terhadap pencegahan penyalahgunaan narkoba. Siswa merasa senang terhadap model pembelajaran sistem saraf yang telah dikembangkan serta guru memberikan respon positif terhadap model tersebut. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran sistem saraf yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan sikap positif siswa terhadap upaya pencegahan penyalahgunaan narkoba pada siswa SMA.Kata kunci: sikap positif, narkoba, sistem saraf

Abstract

Vertikultur adalah konsep bertanam di lahan sempit dengan memanfaatkan bidang vertikal. Konsep vertikultur sangat cocok dikembangkan di kompleks perumahan yang umumnya memiliki pekarangan terbatas. Dalam rangka meningkatkan kemandirian dan ketahanan pangan keluarga di masa pandemi Covid-19, telah dilakukan kegiatan pelatihan budidaya sayuran dengan teknik vertikultur kepada warga Perumahan Bukit Sukorejo, Gunungpati- Semarang. Kegiatan ini juga akan meningkatkan kegiatan produktif dari rumah sehingga membantu upaya pemerintah dalam mencegah penyebaran Covid-19. Metode kegiatan dilakukan dengan cara pelatihan, dilanjutkan dengan implementasi dan pendampingan. Materi pelatihan mencakup pemahaman vertikultur, pemilihan jenis tanaman, manajemen pembibitan, pemeliharaan serta produksi. Kegiatan sudah terlaksana pada April - Juli 2020. Ada dua macam vertikultur yang diimplementasikan yaitu model instalasi hidroponik, serta model rak bertingkat untuk tanaman dalam pot dengan media tanah. Hasil analisis kegiatan menunjukkan pengetahuan peserta meningkat signifikan (t-test; α<0.05) sebelum dan setelah pelatihan. Dalam implementasinya jenis tanaman yang dipilih yaitu kangkung, sawi, selada, cabai dan tanaman herbal seperti jahe merah, lengkuas, kunyit dan lain-lain. Dalam kegiatan ini disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan dan pendampingan bercocok tanam cara vertikultur terbukti mampu memberdayakan warga untuk memproduksi sayuran secara mandiri. Seluruh peserta mampu mengadopsi pengetahuan dan menerapkannya dalam mengelola bibit, pemeliharaan hingga panen perdana.

Abstract

Curcuma zedoaria, familia Zingiberaceae, has been used for along time as an alternative healing. active compounds within it are coneol, comphene, borneol, camphor, zedoarin, resin, gum, and curcumin. Curcumin is an antioxidan that can slow cell damages caused by toxicant. The purpose of this research was to find out the role of Curcuma zedoaria’s rhizome for minimizing damage of microanatomical structure of liver caused by alcoholic toxicant. Samples in the research were 24 mice (Mus musculus) Swiss Webster. They were grouped randomly into 8 groups. Each group was treated as follow. Group A (control group) was given fresh water. Group B was given whisky. Group C was given 500 mg Curcuma zedoaria/kg body weight. Group D was given 750 mg Curcuma zedoaria/kg body weight. Group E was given Curcuma zedoaria/kg body weight. Group F was given whisky and, 2 hours later, 500 mg Curcumazedoaria/kg body weight. Group G was given whisky and, 2 hours later, 750 mg Curcuma zedoaria/kg body weight. The last group was given whisky and, 2 hours later, 1000 mg Curcuma zedoaria/kg body weight. The treatment was carried out during 8 days. A microanatomy slide of liver was made by using parafin method and Hematoxylin-Eosin dying. Data was analyzed by using descriptive method, comparing between the control group and the experiment groups.The result of the research showed that the powder of the Curcuma zedoaria’s rhizome has been useful in minimizing damage of hepar microanatomy structure of the mice affected by alcohol. The effective dosage was 1000 mg/kg body weight.
