Abstract

A survey of 612 students in one of the high schools in the city of Semarang is found 177 shisha smokers. Based on the results of the survey, students haven’t known the effects and harmful contents of the shisha which they consumed. The use of supplement based on research could increase student knowledge about the dangers of shisha. Manufacture of products based on research data. Learning resources developed are supplement. The appropriateness of product is carried out by the media validator and material validator. Furthermore, the products were tested on 34 students, namely grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Kutowinangun. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and written tests. The data analysis method is quantitative descriptive. Based on the results of product validation which it showed very valid. Scores from material experts is 84% ​​and media experts is 98%. The readability test results in the form of teacher and student responses showed incrasing results. The effectiveness of supplement is profed by the scores obtained on motivation scores in before and after learning which increased by 4% with an average percentage in after learning is 77%. Student learning outcomes that have achieved KKM value showed 76,5% and the average N-gain was 0.66 in the medium category. This shows that supplement based on research are effective for increasing motivation and student learning outcomes in high school.

Abstract

The Research and Development aims to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of using research-based teaching materials supplements as a source of learning for high school students. The learning resources developed are in the form of research-based teaching materials. The method used in this study uses research steps from Sugiyono (2015) that have been modified. The indicators used in this study are indicators of feasibility and effectiveness. Indicators of eligibility in this study involve material and media validity, student and teacher responses. The results of the research have shown that research-based teaching materials are feasible and effective to be used as a source of learning for students. The results of the validity of the material and media are in very valid criteria with each score 85% and 96.875%, while the responses of students and teachers are in the criteria of a good readability level with the value of 88.4 % and 80%. The developed teaching materials are also effective, this can be seen from the classical completeness of the class obtained a score of 83% and an increase in the results of the N-gain test that there are ≥ 70% of students who get N-gain scores with moderate to high criteria.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations at SMAN 15 Semarang students still have difficulty working on the questions requires analysis, evaluation, and a high degree of difficulty. In addition, learning has not stimulated students to improve critical thinking skills. Learning that is applied is still more dominant in the aspect of knowledge, it does not require students to be active and train thinking to find independent concepts. This study aims to analyze the effect of PBL learning by analyzing the case study material of the respiration system on students' critical thinking skills. This research was conducted at SMA N 15 Semarang with the research design Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research steps included preliminary observation including potential and problem analysis, determining the subject as a sample, namely class XI MIPA 6 as the control class and XI MIPA 7 as the experimental class, making learning tools, compiling research instruments, conducting test questions in class XII MIPA 3, question trial analysis, research implementation, research data analysis, preparation of research results discussion. The data analysis was carried out by the prerequisite test with the normality and homogeneity test. Normality test with SPSS ver. 21 it is known that the Kolmogorov Smirnov significance criteria of 0.200> 0.05 and 0.074> 0.05 can indicate that the experimental and control classes are normally distributed. The homogeneity test shows that the Leven's significance criteria 0.163> 0.05 in both samples have the same variance. After fulfilling the prerequisite test, the two mean difference test was carried out with the test known that the significance value was 0.000 <0.05 because of the significant difference between the two samples. Then performed the N-Gain test to measure the increase in critical thinking skills. The results of the N-Gain of the experimental class in the high category were 52% and the medium category was 48%, while in the control class the moderate category was 54% and 46% low. After obtaining the N-gain, the t-test for the average N-gain score was carried out. The results of student activity in the experimental class with a higher average value in the control class. The average value of the experimental class was 83.4% in the very good category, while the control class was 75.8% in the good category. The average result of PBL implementation level with Case Study Analysis was 86.6% with very good category. Students gave very good responses to PBL learning with Case Study Analysis with an average of 83.5%. Based on these results it can ignore PBL learning with Case Study Analysis on the material of the respiration system on students' thinking abilities.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengembangkan bahan ajar berupa modul IPA terpadu berbasis mastery and meaningful learning pada tema manfaat cahaya bagi kehidupan di kelas VIII SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian dan pengembangan (Reseach and Development)). Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan modul IPA terpadu berbasis mastery and meaningful learning yang dilaksanakan di SMP Muhammadiyah Cilongok dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil uji kelayakan modul IPA terpadu oleh pakar isi sebesar 3,5, pakar penyajian 3,76, dan pakar bahasa 3,5. Tingkat ketuntasan klasikal siswa 100% dengan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 85,43 dan keaktifan siswa secara klasikal sebesar 86,05%. Angket tanggapan guru memiliki presentase sebesar 100%, angket tanggapan siswa dalam uji coba skala kecil sebesar 95%, dan uji coba skala besar sebesar 97%. Uji keterlaksanaan pembelajaran memiliki skor rata-rata 3,32. Hal ini berarti modul IPA terpadu yang dikembangkan layak, efektif, dan praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA di sekolah yang diteliti. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul yang dikembangkan dinyatakan layak, efektif, dan praktis The purpose of this research is to develop instructional materials in the form of an integrated science module mastery and meaningful learning based on the theme of light benefits for life in junior high school. This study uses a design research and development (Reseach and Development). Results of studies using science module integrated based on mastery and meaningful learning which was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah Cilongok is  analyzed descriptive quantitatively. Results of validity integrated science module by expert of content is 3.54, 3.76 presenting experts, and linguists 3.5. Students’s target achievment is 100% by  average of 85.43 students’s activities generally is 86.05%. Teachers questionaire present 100%, and students respondents in the small-scale validity show 95%, while in large-scale show 97%. Test feasibility study has average score of 3.32. This means that the integrated science module which has been developed is feasible, and simple to be used in teaching and learning science at the schools under study. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the module dveloped is feasible, effective, and practical.

Abstract

Difficulty in understanding the material and the decline in student learning outcomes can be managed by developing teaching materials tailored to the needs of students. This study aims to develop guided inquiry-based digestive system teaching materials as a source of student learning to improve student's critical thinking and scientific attitude. The method used in this research is the Research and Development (R&D) with the steps used are: 1) Identify potential and problems; 2) collecting data; 3) product design; 4) design validation; 5) main product revision design; 6) small-scale trial; 7) second product revision; 8) wide-scale test; 9) product revision; 10) final product. Class Students research subjects XI MIPA 4 and XI MIPA 5 SMAN 5 Cirebon with 60 students as subject. The results showed: (1) guided inquiry-based teaching material products developed based on the guided inquiry syntax; (2) the validity of teaching materials based on the validation scores of material and media experts, respectively 95% and 96.25% with very valid criteria; (3) guided inquiry-based teaching materials based on results of the analysis of the description test and the analysis of the scientific attitude assessment question, it shows that teaching material effectively improve the learning outcomes of student’s critical thinking and scientific attitude. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the digestive system teaching materials developed have characteristics based on the guided inquiry syntax, including: formulate the problem, make a hypothesis, planning an experiment, collecting data and conclusion, very valid and effective teaching materials improve critical thinking and scientific attitude of students.

Abstract

This research innovation is developing problem-solving-based science teaching materials that can help students solve problems in daily life and science and teaching materials can be tested for feasibility. This research is an important step in providing innovation in the development of science teaching materials and forming changes in the form an increase in students critical thingking and logical thingking skills. This research aims to develop problem-solving-based science teaching materials to improve the critical thinking and logical thinking skills of the learners. This Research & Development adopted Sugiyono’s model. The research design used was one groups pretest-posttest design with the member of subject were 58 students. The data collection techniques were interview, test, and questionnaire. The results of the interview show that there is a need for innovation in the development of science teaching materials. The results based on tes show that the problem-solving-based science teaching materials influenced the critical thinking and logical thinking skill improvements with the classical accomplishment 89%. The N-Gain score is 0.70, categorized high. The results based questinnaire show the teachers’ responses were 100% considered the material was very excellent. The results of the learners’ responses showed a percentage of 96.75% considered the material was very excellent. The content reliability, validity, display, and graph obtained a percentage of 86.54%, categorized as very reliable. Thus, the problem-solving-based teaching material was reliable for the learners to solve the lesson related to daily life. It could also improve the critical thinking and logical thinking skills of the learners.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini  adalah: (1) Melatih sekolah mengembangkan kebijakan berbasis lingkungan, (2) Melatih sekolah melaksanakan kurikulum berbasis lingkungan, (3) Melatih sekolah agar dapat melakukan kegiatan lingkungan  berbasis partisipatif,dan (4) Melatih sekolah agar dapat mengelola sarana prasarana ramah lingkungan. Target khusus yang ingin dicapai pada pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan jumlah sekolah yang mengikuti program sekolah adiwiyata di Kabupaten Semarang. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui workshop dengan tiga kali pertemuan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukan bahwa persepsi sekolah terhadap kegiatan Adiwiyata sudah baik karena sudah mendapatkan pelatihan dari Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kabupaten Semarang. Workshop penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran (RPP) berbasis lingkungan dapat berjalan baik dengan dihasilkan RPP sejumlah 32 peserta (dari 8 sekolah) dengan tingkat partisipasi mencapai 91%. Pengelolaan tanaman di sekolah sudah disimulasi dengan dibuat taman mini penghias dekorasi tempat pelatihan. Pengelolaan sarana prasarana ramah lingkungan diwujudkan dengan praktek membuat anyaman daur ulang limbah plastik sachet yang menjadi sampah kantin sekolah.  Kesimpulan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah semua kegiatan pelatihan persiapan empat komponen sekolah Adiwiyata berjalan dengan baik.

Abstract

Cigarette smoke is one of exogenous free radicals sources. When it is inhaled, its activity may damage the structure of lung function. The impacts of free radicals can be reduced through the provision of antioxidants. Rambutan fruit peel contains phenolic compound in the form of polyphenols that are antioxidants.The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of rambutan fruit peel extracts to the number of leukosit and lung structure on rats exposed by cigarette smoke. The research design used Post Test Control Group Design. A sample of 25 rats were divided into 5 groups, each group consisting of 5 rats. The positive control group (K +) were given a standard food and drinking water, the negative control group (K) by 3 cigarettes, the treatment groups (KP1, KP2, KP3) by 3 cigarettes and peel extract of rambutan each treatment group with a dose 15 mg/kg, 30 mg/kg and 45 mg/kg for 30 days. Total leukocyt measured by Auto Hematology Analyzer Mindray BC 2800vet. Total leukocytes and the damage of the lung were tested by one- way ANOVA. The number of leukocytes and damage to the lungs was analyzed by one-way ANOVA. and further tested with LSD. Next, the effective dose was tested by using linear regression. The result has shown that the average of total leukocytes in K+, K-, KP1, KP2, and KP3 was 6.28 x103/µl, 11.98 x103/µl, 9.88 x103/µl, 8.48 x103/µl, and 7.72 x103/µl respectively. Based on ANOVA, the rats have been exposed to cigarette smoke and given the extract of rambutan peel underwent decreasing total leukocytes and decreasing damage on alveolus more significant than those which has been exposed to cigarette smoke with no extract of rambutan peel. The effective dose of the extract of rambutan peel that was foun d to decrease total leukocytes and to protect the damage of the lung caused by cigarette smoke was 45 mg/kg body weight. Conclusion: the extract of rambutan peel was able to decrease the total leukocytes and protect the histopathological of rat lung that has been exposed to cigarette smoke.

Abstract

Senyawa aktif yang terkandung dalam batang patah tulang yaitu glikosida, sapogenin dan asam elagat. Senyawa yang membantu mempercepat penyembuhan luka sayat yaitu senyawa sapogenin, karena senyawa sapogenin bermanfaat mempengaruhi pembentukan kolagen (tahap awal perbaikan jaringan). Tujuan penelitian adalah mengkaji ekstrak batang patah tulang dalam bentuk salep pada penyembuhan luka sayat tikus putih serta menentukan dosis dan waktu tercepat pada penyembuhan luka sayat. Penelitian menggunakan design post test yaitu dengan mengambil data setelah perlakuan, rancangan yang digunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Sampel yang digunakan yaitu 20 ekor tikus putih jantan galur Wistar umur 2 bulan yang dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok yaitu dengan poviodin iodine 10% sebagai kontrol positif, salep dengan dosis 5%, 10% dan 20%. Perlakuan diberikan selama 13 hari. Pengambilan data dengan mendokumentasikan dan mencatat waktu penyembuhan luka sayat. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan membandingkan waktu tercepat pada penyembuhan luka sayat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa salep dosis 5% dan 10% hasilnya tidak ada perbedaan. perlakuan salep dosis 10% lebih optimal dalam mempercepat penyembuhan luka sayat tikus putih dilihat pada hari ke-9 luka sudah sembuh dengan adanya jaringan baru. Sedangkan pada dosis 20% kurang optimal dalam mempercepat penyembuhan luka sayat dilihat pada hari ke-13. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian salep dosis 10% dosis paling optimal dalam mempercepat penyembuhan luka sayat tikus putih dengan melihat waktu penyembuhan tercepat pada tikus putih.Active compounds contained in the stem fractures are glycosides , sapogenin and elagat acid . Compounds that help speed healing cuts that sapogenin compounds , as useful sapogenin compounds affect the formation of collagen ( the early stages of tissue repair ) . The purpose of the study is to assess the fracture stem extract in the form of ointment in healing cuts mice and to determine the dose and the fastest time in the healing of cuts . Research using post-test design is to take data after treatment , the design used a completely randomized design ( CRD ) . The samples used were 20 white male rats of the Wistar strain aged 2 months were divided into 4 groups, with 10 % poviodin iodine as a positive control , an ointment at a dose of 5 % , 10 % and 20 % . Treatment was given for 13 days . Data retrieval with document and record cuts healing time . Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing the fastest time in the healing of cuts . The results showed that the dose ointment 5 % and 10 % the result is no difference . Treatment ointment 10 % more optimal dose in accelerating the healing of cuts seen white mice on day 9, the wound had healed with the new tissue. While at 20 % less than optimal dose in accelerating healing cuts seen at day 13 . Based on the results of this study concluded that the administration of a dose of 10 % ointment most optimal dose in accelerating the healing of cuts of white mice by looking at the fastest healing time in rats .

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahuiefek hepatoprotektor ekstrak buah pedadaterhadap kerusakan sel hepar tikus putih setelah dipapar dengan CCl4. Desain yang digunakan yaitu Post Test Randomized Control .Tikus Wistar jantan sebanyak 25 ekor dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok, yaitu K (aquades dan pakan biasa), KP (CCl4 1,5 ml), P1 (dosis 28 mg/ BB, CCl4 1,5 ml), P2 (dosis 56 mg/ BB, CCl4 1,5 ml), P3 (dosis 112 mg/ BB, CCl4 1,5 ml) selama 7 hari. Tikus kemudian diambil darahnya untuk diuji kadar SGOT/SGPT dan dibedah diambil heparnya kemudian dibuat preparat histologi. Perubahan struktur mikroanatomi yang diamati berupa degenerasi parenkimatosa, degenerasi hidropik dan nekrosis. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik One Way Anovadilanjutkan dengan analisis Post hoc. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak buah pedada tidak berpengaruh terhadap kadar SGOT/SGPT pada serum darah tikus dan pada kerusakan hepar jenis degenerasi hidropik. Namun pada kerusakan degenerasi parenkimatos dan nekrosis terdapat perbedaaan yang bermakna antara kelompok. Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak buah pedada tidak berpengaruh terhadap kadar SGOT dan SGPT pada serum darah tikus. Dan pemberian ekstrak buah pada struktur mikroanatomi hepar menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan pada jenis kerusakan degenerasi hidropik namun menunjukkan perbedaan yang bermakna pada jenis kerusakan degenerasi parenkimatosa dan nekrosis. This study aims to determine the effect of the pedada fruit extract hepatoprotector against white rat liver cell damage after being exposed to CCl4. Designs were used that post randomied control design. The sample used 25 male wistar rats were devided into 5 groubs, K (normal control), KP (CCl4 1,5 ml), P1 (dose 28 mg/BB + CCl4 1,5 ml), P2 (dose 56 mg/BB + CCl4 1,5 ml), P3 (dose 112 mg/BB + CCl4 1,5 ml) for 7 days. Rat were then taken blood drawn for testing SGOT/SGPT and taken dissected liver histology then made preparations. Microanatomi structural changes observed in the form of parenkimatosa degeneration, hydropic degeneration, and necrosis. The result was analyzed by One Way Anovafollowed by analyzed Post hoc. The results showed that administration pedada fruit extract has no effect on levels of SGOT/SGPT in the blood serum of mice and the liver damage types hydropic degeneration. But the damage parenkimatos degeneration and necrosis are significant differences between the groubs. Based on this study it can be concluded that the administration pedada fruit extract has no effect on the levels of SGOT/SGPT in blood serum of mice. And the provision of fruit extracts on liver mikroanatomi structure showed no difference in the type of damage hydropic degeneration however showed significant differences in the type of damage parenkimatosa degeneration and necrosis.
