Abstract

The purpose of the research is to decribe (1) the metaphor forms in pasambahan maanta marapulai at Nagari Tanjung subsdistrict of Koto VII Sijunjung regency, (2) the meaning of metaphor in pasambahan maanta marapulai at Nagari Tanjung subdistrcit of Koto VII Sijunjung regency, as well as (3) the context of metaphor use in pasambahan maanta marapulai at Nagari Tanjung subdistrict of Koto VII Sijunjung regency. Data of the research is the words in pasambahan maanta marapulai used by citizien at Nagari Tanjung subdistrict of Koto VII Sijunjung regency. The resource of data is pasambahan maanta marapulai from the beginning till pasambahan minta pulang. Data is gained using listening and conversation method, While techniques used is record technique and note technique. Based on the finding, there are fouty four metaphor consisted of 9 metaphor antropomorfis, 12 animal metaphor, 21 metaphor from conrete to abstract as well as 2 metaphor sinaestetik. The meaning of metaphor is based on literal meaning and meaning from the interviwee. While, the context of metaphor use consists of situation and culture context.

Abstract

This study  aimed to determine the structure and social function of folklore legend naming Batunabontar Batang Natal district Mandailing Natal district. The method used in this research was descriptive method. The data source of this research was the people who inhabit Batunabontar village, Batang Natal District, Mandailing Natal District. The instrument used in this study was the researcher himself and the informant based on the understanding of the structure and social function of the naming legend of a place. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation by observation and to strengthen the data obtained, direct interviews were carried out to the authorities in research on the Social Structure and Function of the Legend of the Naming of Batunabontar Village, Batang Natal District, Mandailing Natal District. The results of this study indicate that the Social Structure and Function of Naming Legend of Batunabontar Village, Batang Natal District, Mandailing Natal District has a unique history and structure and function in the village. The uniqueness of this Batunabontar makes the writer want to know the importance of the structure and function of the Batunabontar in Batang Natal District, Mandailing Natal Regency.

Abstract

This research was motivated by observations and interviews of learning tools for reading skills lectures in the Indonesian Language and Literature study program, Bung Hatta University. It is known that reading courses are generally given in the form of minimal reading theory and practice. As a result, students have difficulty understanding the reading text because students do not know the genre of the text being read. To solve this problem, one of the alternatives proposed is to apply the AP4M Model in Reading Comprehension of Narrative Text Genres through E-Learning. The research objective was to describe students' reading comprehension skills using the AP4M model. This research uses qualitative and quantitative methods. The research subjects were students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program, Bung Hatta University, Padang, class 2019/2020. The results showed that the students' ability to determine themes and messages was 8.90; determine the type of narrative text and its description 8.90; determine the structure of the narrative text genre 9.80; determine the character of the character 7.8. The results of the research on the application of the AP4M Model in reading comprehension of the narrative text genre of students were 8.6 with the very good category.

Abstract

Praz Teguh is West Sumatra influencer who has received controversy over the principle of language politeness expressive speech he speaks on social media. This study is aimed at describing the form of expressive speech acts, the function of expressive speech acts, and the obeys and violates of language politeness using Leech's theory. The primary data is sourced from humorous speech derived from 4 videos of Pacah Paruik's comedy sketch content uploaded in May-October on 2021 by listening to the video repeatedly, retyping like a drama script, and providing contexts to help writers when at classificated the data. This methode in this research is a descriptive qualitative based on existing data. The results obtained of this study indicate that there are (1) forms of expressive speech acts, which consists of anger; criticize; thank; praise; complain; and apologizing, (2) forms of expressive speech acts functions consists of joy; difficulty; admiring; reproach; and regret, (3) forms of obeys and violates of the principal of politeness found on the Praz Teguh YouTube channel.

Abstract

The benefits of this research are (1) to determine the proportion of the degree of kinship between the two languages ​​being studied (2) to determine the length of time the separation between the two languages ​​is being studied (3) to find out the sound correspondence between the languages ​​being studied. Comparative history of linguistics is the type of research used. Next, qualitative and quantitative are the methods used by the researcher. The object of this research is the Malay language which originates from Nagari Ujung Gading which is in the Lembah Melintang sub-district and the Mandailing language in the Nagari Air Bangis area which is in the Sungai Beremas sub-district, West Pasaman Regency. The information in this research is the cognate vocabulary of two hundred basic Swadesh vocabulary and three hundred cultural vocabulary from the two languages ​​that will be studied. Recording equipment/cameras and stationery are research instruments. Proficiency procedures (fishing method and conversant methods) and advanced methods (advanced proficient engagement methods and note-taking methods) are procedures and methods for providing data in research. The method used to analyze information is a lexicostatistical method with a glottochronology method. Based on calculations and research data using lexicostatistical techniques, it was found that related vocabulary in the Malay language in the Ujung Gading area, which is in the Lembah Melintang sub-district, and the Mandailing language in the Air Bangis area, which is in the Sungai Beremas sub-district, to be precise, in the West Pasaman Regency, is 242 words cognat (relatives) and then 258 words are not. cognate. So, the proportion level of kinship between the two languages ​​is 41.5%. Furthermore, based on the calculation of the glotochronological method, it was found that the separation of the two languages ​​was 2027 years ago. Based on the five hundred vocabularies found sound correspondences, there are 103 vocabularies of similar or identical forms, 79 selected sound/phoneme vocabulary, 47 sound/phoneme absorption vocabulary, and 13 sound/phoneme accumulations that correspond to sound.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) determine the percentage level of kinship between the two languages studied, (2) determine the length of time of separation between the two languages studied, and (3) determine the sound correspondence between the languages studied. This type of research is quantitative and qualitative research with the field of comparative historical linguistics. The research object of this study is the Minangkabau language spoken by people in Nagari Mungo, Luak District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency and Riau Malay language spoken by people in Buantan Besar Village, Siak Sri Indrapura District, Siak Regency. The data of this study are oral and written which are guided by the Morris Swadesh vocabulary list and the cultural vocabulary list of the two languages. Based on calculations and existing research data, it was found that the cognate vocabulary between Minangkabau language in Nagari Mungo, Luak Subdistrict, Lima Puluh Kota Regency and Riau Malay language in Buantan Besar Village, Siak Sri Indrapura Subdistrict, Siak Regency was 371 cognate words and 129 non-cognate words. Therefore, the percentage level of kinship between the two languages is 75.5%. Furthermore, based on the calculation of the glottochronology method, it was found that the separation time between the two languages was 693 years later. Based on the five hundred vocabularies encountered, there are sound correspondences consisting of 175 form similarity vocabularies, 101 sound/phoneme replacement vocabularies, 82 sound/phoneme subtraction vocabularies, and 13 sound/phoneme additions with sound correspondences.

Abstract

The objectives in carrying out this research study were (1) to determine how the percentage level of kinship of the languages to be studied in that area; (2) to determine the length of time of separation between the languages studied in the region; and (3) to describe sound correspondences between the languages studied in the region. Furthermore, in this study using quantitative methods and qualitative methods. The objects analyzed in the implementation of this research study were the Rejang language in Kepala Siring Village, Curup Tengah District, Rejang Lebong Regency and the Minangkabau language in Batang Kabung Village, East Pariaman District, Pariaman City. As for the research instrument, there are 200 Morris Swadesh basic vocabulary and 300 cultural vocabulary that have been compiled and adapted to the conditions of the area where the language area is used. This study uses the proficient method which is known to be in collecting research data. Furthermore, the percentage of kinship level of the two languages is calculated using the lexicostatistical method which is 38.5%. Meanwhile, the length of time the separation was for 2200 years ago or around 177 BC. As for the total cognates of these two languages, based on 500 vocabularies, there are 210 vocabularies. As well as found five forms of sound correspondence between languages, namely 40 forms of similar vocabulary, 59 sound substitutions or more commonly known as phonemes, 38 sound reduction vocabulary or more commonly understood as phonemes, 72 additional sound/phoneme vocabulary, and 1 metathesis vocabulary.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to (1) describe the forms of expressive speech acts used by Deddy Corbuzier in video podcasts on Youtube. (2) describe the form of speech strategy used by Deddy Corbuzier in video podcasts on Youtube. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The research data is in the form of utterances that contain expressive speech acts in video podcasts on Youtube used by Deddy Corbuzier, while the data source for this research is Deddy Corbuzier's video podcast which presents government officials as resource persons. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that Deddy Corbuzier dominantly used expressive speech acts to criticize, because the video podcasts studied were video podcasts that presented government officials as resource persons, indicating that many criticisms were conveyed by Deddy Corbuzier to government officials as citizens. Meanwhile, the strategy of speaking frankly without further ado is dominant because the strategy of speaking frankly without further ado is a speaking strategy in which the speech is told as it is without preamble in its delivery.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and explain the comparison of conversation registers used by transgender communities in two different cities, namely Padang City and Sungai Full City. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. This research was conducted in Padang City, West Sumatra Province and Sungai Penuh City, Jambi Province. The data of this research are utterances containing transgender registers in the city of Padang and the city of Sungai Penuh. The data in this study were collected using the tapping method that utilizes advanced techniques in the form of recording techniques and note-taking techniques. The findings of the study were that 160 transgender conversation register data were found in the City of Padang and the City of Sungai Penuh in terms of 2 domains, namely words, phrases and sentences. In the realm of words, it is divided into adjectives (adjectives), verbs (verbs), nouns (nouns) and greeting words. In the realm of phrases, it is divided into noun phrases, verb phrases, and adjective phrases. Overall, the similarities of the transgender registers of Padang City and Sungai Penuh City are very visible because they use the same vocabulary, namely from the vocabulary of waria in Indonesia. Abstract

Masalah yang belum terpecahkan dalam tindak tutur ekspresif khususnya karya sastra, yaitu novel adalah belum ditemukannya konteks situasi tutur yang memenuhi unsur SPEAKING. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan penjelasan tentang (jenis, strategi, konteks, dan fungsi pragmatis) dari tindak tutur yang terkategori ekspresif dalam novel Sansai dan 7 Cinta Si Anak Kampung karya Ermanto Tolantang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis. Data penelitian ini berupa tuturan yang mengacu terhadap tindak tutur ekspresif yang ada di dalam novel Sansai dan 7 Cinta Si Anak Kampung karya Ermanto Tolantang. Teknik pengumpulan data di dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik dokumentasi, yaitu sumber tertulis novel Sansai dan 7 Cinta Si Anak Kampung karya Ermanto Tolantang berbentuk dokumen sebagai tempat pengumpulan datanya dibantu dengan teknologi linguistik korpus, yaitu korpus nusantara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat (jenis, strategi, konteks, dan fungsi pragmatis) dari tindak tutur yang terkategori ekspresif di dalam novel Sansai dan 7 Cinta Si Anak Kampung karya Ermanto Tolantang dan dapat diimplikasikan di dalam pembelajaran teks novel remaja asli atau terjemahan pada kelas VIII SMP.
