Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effects of swallow bird droppings bokashi on several soil chemical properties such as pH, C-Organic, N, P, K, CEC, and to determine the appropriate dosage of bokashi fertilizer for the growth of ebony seedlings. This research was conducted at Permanent Nursery located at Tadulako University. This study was conducted using a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 4 replications, 20 experimental units as: P0 (control), P1 (7 tons/ha), P2 (14 tons/ha), P3 (21 tons/ha), and P4 (28 tons/ha). The results showed that the swallow droppings bokashi fertilizer was able to improve: soil pH 7.18 to 7.55 with a neutral status, P from 41.34 to 65.06 with very high status, K from 46.26 to 53.87 with high status, C-Organic from 5.30 to 10.25 with high to very high status, and N-Total from 0.12 to 0.34 although in low status in the soil. The application of swallow droppings bokashi into the soil was very much needed. C-Organic content in swallow droppings bokashi was 50.23%, N (4.26). The application of swallow droppings bokashi with a treatment of 21 tons/ha (61.25 g/pot) was the best dose for the growth (height) and the increase number of leaves of ebony seedlings.

Abstract

Dormancy is one of the obstacles in cultivating zalacca plants which have hard skin and seeds making them difficult to grow. Soaking using growth hormones is an alternative for growing seeds well. This research aims to determine the concentration of Gibberellin and determine the appropriate length of soaking time for Gibberellin (GA3) in germinating zalacca seeds. The research was carried out at the Seed Science and Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu in January - February 2023 using a Completely Randomized Design with a factorial pattern. The first factor is the Gibberellin’s concentration which consists of 40, 60, and 80 ppm. The second factor was the length of Gibberellin’s soaking time which consists of 15, 55, and 95 minutes so that 9 treatment combinations were obtained which were repeated three times to obtain 27 experimental units. Each experiment used 20 seeds, therefore 540 zalacca seeds were needed, with 5 samples per experimental unit. The results show that gibberellin concentrations of 60 ppm and 80 ppm and soaking times of 55 and 95 minutes were treatments that provided good growth in germination capacity, germination time, plumule length, radicle length and dry weight of zalacca seed sprouts

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujan untuk mengkaji respons tanaman jagung terhadap aplikasi pupuk NPK Mutiara dengan dosis yang berbeda. Penelitian ini disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan satu faktor dosis NPK mutiara yang terdiri dari enam taraf perlakuan yaitu kontrol,100 kg ha-1,150 kg ha-1,200 kg ha-1,250 kg ha-1,300 kg ha-1. Perlakuan ini diulang sebanyak 3 kali sehingga terdapat 18 unit percobaan, Di mana setiap percobaan terdapat 20 Rumpun dan dengan total keseluruhan terdapat 360 rumpun dan 720 jumlah populasi tanaman, setiap petakan mempunyai 20 Rumpun dan 40 tanaman. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan analisis ragam (ansira) dan jika menunjukkan pengaruh nyata atau sangat nyata maka dilanjutkan dengan uji beda nyata jujur (BNJ 5%) untuk melihat perbedaan antar perlakuan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat dilihat bahwa pemberian upuk NPK Mutiara 300 kg ha-1 berpengaruh nyata untuk meningkatkan hasil tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, panjang tongkol, diameter tongkol dan berat produksi jagung per hektar. Semakin tinggi dosis yang diberikan akan semakin meningkat pertumbuhannya.
