ABSTRACT The purpose of this reseach is to explain the effect of discovery learning through audiovisual media toward writing skill on biographical text for ten grade of SMA Negeri 12 Padang students. This research used quantitative method which usedone group pretest and posttest design. The population of this reseach was the ten grade students of SMA Negeri 12 Padang. There was 325 population but there was only class to be the sample. It was class X IPA 4 whivh consisted of 30 students that choosen by using purposive random sampling technique. The data of this research was the score of the result of students’ writing skill in biographical text before and after using discovery learning model throught audiovisual media. There are three result of this research. First, the students’ writing skill in biographical text before using discovery learning through audiovisual media was 53.65. Second, the students’writing skill biographical text after using discovery learning through audiovisual media was 80,11. Third, based on the t-test alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted on the significant degree 95% and degree (dk) = n-1 tcount> ttable (1,75>1,70). Kata kunci: discovery learning, media audiovisual, keterampilan menulis teks biografi

The purpose of this research is (1) to describe appreciative reading skill, (2) to describe the skill of writing short story, and (3) to analyze the relationship of appreciative reading skill with the skill of writing short story of grade X of SMA UNP Development Labolatorium. The data of this research is the score of reading skill test of apresiatif and score of skill writing writing skill test result. The findings of this research are (1) appreciative reading skill is in good qualification with average score 80,82, (2) skill of writing short story is in good qualification with average value 78,53, and (3) based on t test, H1 is accepted because thitung> ttable is 0.345 > 1.68. Kata kunci      : hubungan, membaca apresiatif, menulis cerpen

ABSTRACT This article was written to describe the effect of using au-inquired media-based inquiry strategy to the writing skills of fifteenth-grade textbook students of SMP Negeri 34 Padang. This research is a quantitative research with experimental method. The sample in this study amounted to 32 people. The data of this research is the score of skill test result of fable story writing. Based on data analysis and discussion, the following three things are concluded. First, the skills of writing fable stories without using audiovisual audiovisual media aided in VII SMP Negeri 34 Padang is in the Qualification More than Enough (Ldc) with an average score of 72.92. Second, the skill of writing fable stories using audiovisual audiovisual aided media inquiry strategy VII students of SMP Negeri 34 Padang is in Good qualification (B) with an average score of 84.11. Third, the skill of writing fable stories using audiovisual audiovisual media aided in VII SMP 34 Padang is higher than without using the audiovisual audiovisual auxiliary media strategy of VII students of SMP Negeri 34 Padang, but has not reached KKM. In other words, an audiovisual-aided audiovisual media inquiry strategy of VII students of SMP Negeri 34 Padang influences the writing skills of fifteenth-grade textbook students of SMP Negeri 34 Padang. Kata kunci: Pengaruh; Strategi Inkuiri; Media Audiovisual; Keterampilan                                               Menulis; Teks Cerita Fabel

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan kemampuan membaca dan keefektifan model pembelajaran kooperatif TPS dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman cerpen. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik tes, observasi, angket dan wawancara. Sumber datanya adalah siswa kelas IX MTsN 2 Pasaman. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan membaca pemahaman cerpen siswa kelas IX MTsN 2 Pasaman sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran TPS lebih baik dibandingkan sebelum menggunakan pembelajaran TPS. Kata kunci : membaca pemahaman cerpen, think pair share ABSTRACT This study aims to explain the ability to read and the effectiveness of TPS cooperative learning models in learning to read short story comprehension. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods. Data collection techniques used were test, observation, questionnaire and interview techniques. The data source is students of class IX MTsN 2 Pasaman. Data analysis techniques in this study were conducted with a normality and homogeneity test. The results of this study indicate that the short story comprehension reading skills of class IX students of MTsN 2 Pasaman after using the TPS learning model are in Very Good qualifications (BS) with an average value of 82.68, while reading short story comprehension before using cooperative learning think pair share type Grade IX students of MTsN 2 Pasaman are of Enough qualification (C) with an average grade of 54.14. Likewise, the hypothesis test conducted tcount > ttable (8.70>1.70) at a 95% significance level. Keywords : reading short story comprehension, think pair share

The purpose of this research is. (1) describe the argument essay writing skills without the use of constructivist strategies class X SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. (2) describe the argument essay writing skills using constructivist strategy of class X SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. (3) the effect of using constructivist strategies for essay writing skills of argumentation class X SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. The data of this study is the result of an argument essay writing skills test students using constructivist strategies and the test results without the use of constructivist strategies. The data sources of this study are students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping Pasaman semester of the school year 2011/2012. Data collected using the experimental method, which aims to control or control any symptoms that appear under certain conditions, so that can know cause and effect of the symptoms that occur. The study's findings that there is an influence on the use of constructivist strategies in teaching writing argument essay.

This research is intended to describe about: (1) the profile of father in novel Ayahku (Bukan) Pembohong written by Tere Liye; (2) the cultural aspect in novel Ayahku (Bukan) Pembohong written by Tere Liye; (3) the relation between father’s profile in novel Ayahku (Bukan) Pembohong written by Tere Liye and father in reality viwed from literature-sociology. The data in this study was the intrinsic unsures that support the make of novel Ayahku (Bukan) Pembohong. They are characters, plot, setting and theme. The data was gotten from novel Ayahku (Bukan) Pembohong written by Tere Liye, in 299 pages. It was published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama, fourth edition on August 2011 in Jakarta. The finding is the father’s profile that was found on that novel, there are cultural aspect and relation between father’s provile on novel and father in reality.

The purpose of this study were (1) to descript style of shimile language that used in novel Dalam Mihrab Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, (2) to descript the style of shimile language which is more used in novel dalam Mihrab Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, (3) to descript the style of shimile language function in novel Dalam Mihrab Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. The data of this study are sentences inside of novel Dalam Mihrab Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. Which is used the style of shimile language. The data resource of this study is novel Dalam Mihrab Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. This data are collect by (1) read the novel repeatedly understanding the novel Dalam Mihrab Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy , by the purpose ae to have the understanding clearly which is novel that had study, (2) write the sentences which have the style of shimile language which are match with teory of Gorys Keraf, and (4) put in the style of shimile language which had fomating into inventarritation data. Discovery of this study is the style of shimile language in this novel.

This article was written to detect the influence of picture media to thepoem writing skill of class 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tigo Nagari Kabupaten Pasaman.The data of this research were the results of the poem writing final test. The data were collected by giving poem writing test through picture media and without picture media. The hipotesist tested by using t-test formula. The results indicated that (1) the arithmetic average of the students’ poem writing skills experiment class were 75,19; (2) the arithmetic average of the students’ poem writing skills control class were 59,26; and (3) according to t-test’s results, can be concluded that there was a significant influence of the used of picture media to the poem writing skill of class 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tigo Nagari Kabupaten Pasaman.
