Abstract

The purpose of this study describe (1) the ability of reading comprehension class X SMAN 1 Sungai Limau, (2) the ability to write essays arguing class X students of SMAN 1 Sungai Limau, (3) the relationship of reading comprehension skills with the ability to write an essay arguing SMAN 1 class X Sungai Limau. The data in this study were collected by using an objective test and a performance test. The findings of the study are (1) the ability of reading comprehension class X students of SMAN 1 Sungai Limau are in good qualification, (2) the ability to write essays arguing class X students of SMAN 1 Sungai Limau are more than enough to qualify, (3) there is a significant relationship between reading comprehension skills with the ability to write an argument essay class X SMAN 1 Sungai Limau.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe postcolonial component which was hegemony and mimicry that was experienced by characters in Atheis novel from Achdiat K. Mihardja. Data of study were characters utterance, display of narrator and acting of the characters in the novel. The primary source of data was texts from Atheis novel by Achdiat K. Mihardja. Data were collected by using qualitative decriptive which was read and written into inventaritation data from and analyzing data based on postcolonial theory. The fiding of the study showed postcolonial component in the novel, they were hegemony and mimicry. Five ideologies that were showed hegemony, languange mimicry and culture that was exeperienced by the characters in Atheis novel from Achdiat K. Mihardja.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the contribution of knowledge to the ability to write effective sentences formal letter eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Pariangan. This research is quantitatively using correlation. The population was eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 registered Pariangan school year 2012/2013 with a number of 108 people scattered in five classes. The research sample amounted to 25 people who were taken from 25% of the population. Because the subject of research of more than 100 students, appropriate sampling technique that is proportional random sampling technique. Proportional random sampling sampling in proportion to the number of students per class. . The results showed that there was an effective contribution to the knowledge of the sentence formal letter writing skills by 6.7%, while the rest is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.

Abstract

This article was written to detect the influence of audio visual media concerning short story writing skill of class VII students of SMPN 19 Padang. The data of this research were the result of the short story writing final test. The data were collected by giving short story writing test through audio visual media and without audio visual media. The hipotesis tested by using test-t formula. The result indicated that (1) the arithmetic average of the students’ short story writing skills experiment group were 72,53; (2) the arithmetic average of the students’ short story writing skills control group were 62,04; and (3) according to test-t’s result, can be concluded that there was a significant influence of the used of audio visual media to the short story writing skill of class VII students of SMPN 19 Padang.

Abstract

This was a descriptive qualitative research which was aimed to describe the cultural values of Minangkabau in the Negeri 5 Menara novel by Ahmad Fuadi. The sources of data of this research were written data of Negeri 5 Menara novel itself. The findings of this research showed that there were 145 data of cultural values of Minangkabau in this novel which consist of 39 data related to the value of human relationship with the Creator, 41 data related to the value of human relationships with others, 28 data related to the value of fostering unity, and 30 data related to the value of consensus and agreement.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to describe the effectiveness of using song media in poetry writing skill for IX1 SMP N 5 Lubuk Basung students. The data of this study were from the result of poetry writing skill pre-test and post-test by using song media in IX1 SMP N 5 Lubuk Basung. Based on the result of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that (1) poetry writing skill of IX1 SMP N 5 Lubuk Basung students without using song media with average 58,33, and (2) poetry writing skill of IX1 SMP N 5 Lubuk Basung students by using song media with average 72,26.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to (1) describe the ability of students class X SMA N 1 Negeri Lubuk Basung in reading literature. (2) Explain the ability of students class X SMA N 1 Negeri Lubuk Basung in writing narrative text. (3) analize the relation between the ability of reading literature and the ability of writing narrative text of students class X SMA N 1 Negeri Lubuk Basung. The method that used in this research is correlation study method. Based on the research result, it can be concluded: first, reading literature ability of students class X SMA N 1 Negeri Lubuk Basung qualified in enough position (61, 48). Second, writing narrative text ability of students class X SMA N 1 Negeri Lubuk Basung qualified in almost enough position (49, 5). Third, there is a significant relation between the reading literature ability and writing narrative text ability of students class X SMA N 1 Negeri Lubuk Basung.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and explain the role of character education in helping the development of a second language in gifted children based on sociolinguistic studies. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis approach. The data in this study were obtained from the analysis of conversations or dialogues and the development of the Dini Suryani language of third-grade students at SDN 27/III Lolo Kecil with their peers, interacting in class with the teacher and while in the family environment. Researchers found that early language development is different from normal children, who tend to have a neat and well-structured use of language. Dini also uses varied and appropriate vocabulary according to specific contexts. Dini also applies the use of intonation and facial expressions in interacting in communicating. However, Dini has a personality problem that is high egoistic, such as when she wants something, she will do anything, even if she forces her will. To maximize the ability of early character education is the right supporting step or method. Thus, Dini can become a gifted child with a good personality.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat "PKM Guru SDN 11 Lawang Mandahiling dan SDN 13 Salimpaung Kabupaten Tanah Datar”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan proses pembelajaran dan juga meningkatkan hasil keterampilan menulis narasi siswa kelas VI SDN 11 Lawang Mandahiling dengan menggunakan media audio (tape recorder). Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus, dengan tahapan: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Berdasarkan analisis data, menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan terhadap keterampilan menulis narasi siswa dengan menggunakan media audio. Hal ini dapat dilihat peningkatannya pada tahap prapenulisan, yaitu siklus pertama pertemuan pertama sebesar 62 dan pertemuan kedua 69 dengan kualifikasi cukup. Pada siklus kedua meningkat lagi menjadi 85. Hal ini juga ditunjukan dengan keseriusan, keaktifan, dan kreatifitas siswa dalam proes pembelajaran yakni dalam membuat kerangka karangan. Pada tahap penulisan siklus pertama pertemuan pertama mendapatkan nilai 66 dan pada pertemuan kedua nilainya meningkat lagi menjadi 72. Kemudian, pada siklus kedua meningkat nilainya 87 dengan kualifikasi baik. Pilihan kata, ejaan, tanda baca, alur dan kesesuaian judul tulisan siswa juga semakin baik. Selanjutnya, pada tahap pascapenulisan siklus pertama pertemuan pertama adalah 67. Pada pertemuan kedua nilainya mencapai 72 dengan kualifikasi cukup, dan pada siklus kedua meningkat lagi menjadi 87 dengan kualifikasi baik. Hal ini juga didukung oleh kebersihan, kerapian, dan kreatifitas siswa menulis narasi semakin meningkat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan hasil dari pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat "Peningkatan Kinerja Guru SD Kartika 1-10 dan 1-11 Padang”. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis narasi siswa kelas V SD Kartika 1-10 Padang dengan menggunakan media audio (tape recorder). Jenis penelitian ini adalah PTK yang dilakukan dua siklus, dengan tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan terhadap kemampuan menulis narasi siswa pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan media audio, dapat dilihat peningkatan pada tahap prapenulisan siklus I pertemuan I adalah 62 dan pertemuan II adalah 69 dengan kualifikasi cukup, dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 85 dengan kualifikasi baik dimana keseriusan, keaktifan dan kreatifitas siswa membuat kerangka karangan semakin meningkat. Kemudian tahap penulisan siklus I pertemuan I adalah 66 dan pertemuan II meningkat menjadi 72 dengan kualifikasi cukup, dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 87 dengan kualifikasi baik, pilihan kata, ejaan, tanda baca, alur dan kesesuaian judul tulisan siswa semakin baik. Pada tahap pascapenulisan siklus I pertemuan I adalah 67 dan pertemuan II adalah 72 dengan kualifikasi cukup, dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 87 dengan kualifikasi baik, dimana kebersihan, kerapian dan kreatifitas siswa menyusun mading semakin meningkat.
