Abstract

In the past, new mothers were able to consult with their mothers about parenting and health issues. When they are married, many of them live not at home with their mothers. When they need information about childcare and health problems, they switch to using online information sources (Facebook, Instagram, the Health page, and WhatsApp group). This study explores how new mothers in Surabaya use online platforms to search for helpful information related to health during pandemic COVID-19. This study used a qualitative virtual ethnographic method by collecting data through interviews, FGDs, and participating in several online media platforms, including Facebook group Room for Children; id.theAsianparent.com; Instagram account @ruangmom, @kenapaharusvaksin, @obesitas, and WhatsApp œKulwapp group. The results reveal that new mothers prefer to enroll in Facebook private groups and only women members with open identities. While on Instagram, they prefer to communicate through questions and answer forums. The Health page that is the primary reference is id.theAsianparent.com. Meanwhile, involvement in the Kulwapp WhatsApp group is for convenience and safety to discuss issues surrounding sexual organs. The shifting information-seeking of new mothers to online platforms because of more theoretical and medically-based health information and experiences need.

Abstract

Kata estetik mengalami perluasan makna dari makna asalnya akibat penggunaannya di Twitter dan TikTok. Perluasan makna itu menimbulkan perdebatan pada pengguna kedua media sosial tersebut. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab dan proses terjadinya perluasan makna, termasuk motivasi pengguna Twitter dan TikTok menggunakan kata estetik yang maknanya berbeda dengan Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia (KBBI). Studi berjenis kualitatif ini menggunakan pendekatan etnografi virtual dengan mewawancarai tujuh informan pengguna Twitter dan TikTok. Empat orang informan pengguna Twitter, yaitu @iyayaudahgpp, @semanismimpimu, @s8joh, dan @CharmingDevilll. Tiga orang informan pengguna TikTok, yaitu @Wiyantika, @aqua.ush, dan @pcynjm131. Hasil penelusuran virtual menunjukkan bahwa kata estetik telah mengalami perluasan makna. Kata estetik tidak sekadar bermakna indah tetapi juga berarti ungkapan kelucuan, ekspresi sindiran, dan pujian penampilan fisik. Penyebab perluasan makna adalah penggunaan kata estetik pada caption, cuitan, komentar, dan tagar oleh pengguna Twitter dan TikTok. Motivasi penggunaan kata estetik, disebabkan mengikuti tren, keisengan, dan candaan. Budaya berkomunikasi di media sosial berperan penting dalam perluasan makna kata dan penciptaan kata-kata baru.   The word aesthetic has expanded from its original meaning due to its use on Twitter and TikTok. The expansion of meaning has caused debate among users of the two social media. This study aims to determine the causes and processes of the expansion of meaning, including Twitter and TikTok users' motivation to use aesthetic words that have different meanings from the Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI). The type of research is qualitative with a virtual ethnographic approach by interviewing seven informants using Twitter and TikTok. Four Twitter user informants, namely @iyayaudahgpp, @semanismimpimu, @s8joh, and @CharmingDevilll. Three informants using TikTok, namely @Wiyantika, @aqua.ush, and @pcynjm131. The virtual search results show that the word aesthetic has expanded its meaning. The word aesthetic does not only mean beautiful but also means an expression of cuteness, an expression of satire, and a compliment of physical appearance. The cause of the expansion of meaning is the use of aesthetic words in captions, tweets, comments, and hashtags by Twitter and TikTok users. The motivation for using the word aesthetic is due to following trends, fads, and jokes. The culture of communicating on social media has an essential role in expanding the meaning of words and creating new words.

Abstract

This research discusses the Analysis of the News Framing of PSBB Surabaya Raya Termination in Online Media Kompas.com and Suarasurabaya.net Edition 8-9 June 2020. This research uses constructive paradigm using Framing Pan and Kosicki analysis method with the assumption that each news article has a frame which functions as a center of the organizational idea. Kompas.com dan suarasurabaya.net have their own views to frame their news. Kompas.com is a national online media, while for suarasurabaya.net is a local online media that much people interest in Surabaya, especially for radio media. The result shows news article has used some of them have a lack point and suarasurabaya.net more construct East Java Governor figure.

Abstract

This research discusses how the use of social media in marketing UMKM products in Sidokumpul Village, Gresik District, Gresik Regency. The research objective is to introduce UMKM products to the wider community in order to get a bigger market potential. This research method is qualitative by using phenomenological approach. The research result is, the use of social media provides good prospects for increasing the sales of UMKM products in Sidokumpul Village, Gresik District, Gresik Regency which is experiencing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is because the digital marketing system provides an online buying and selling platform, in order to facilitate the ordering and purchasing process. So that buyers can interact with UMKM owners to make transactions directly

Abstract

Linked song is experiencing widespread usage proliferation on social media. Social media users also benefit from using the Linked song elements, in the form of significant additions of viewers, followers, likes, and subscribers so that they get income from advertising. This study aims to investigate the forms of proliferation of “Bertaut” song use by Nadin Amizah on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. The research method uses a qualitative approach with virtual ethnography. The results of the study show that the proliferation of Bertaut songs occurs in various forms of content upload, including: song covers, stories, feeds, IGTV, footage, captions using song elements in the form of lyrics, music sound fragments, and song video fragments. The phenomenon of the proliferation of Linked songs on social media shows the media making capabilities of TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the income of the milkfish cracker home industry by fisherwomen in Kalanganyar Village, Sedati District, Sidoarjo Regency. The method of implementing the activity uses counseling sessions, training, and practice. The counseling materials are (1) the importance of developing a variety of quality crackers to increase sales volume, (2) the importance of making attractive and hygienic packaging for marketing milkfish cracker products. At the same time, the training material is making hygienic cracker dough with variations in original and spicy flavors. The application of appropriate technology was an electric machine for cutting cylindrical cracker dough. While the online marketing tool developed is Instagram. The conclusions of this activity are (1) training in making hygienic cracker dough with a variety of flavors, (2) improving marketing channel strategies, (3) redesigning product brands, (4) increasing production capacity.

Abstract

Pada masa pandemi Corona berbagai media banyak menyorot isu tentang pandemi ini, terutama menyoroti pada kebijakan pemerintah daerah dalam penanganan COVID–19. Setiap media mempunyai bentuk dan gaya penulisan yang berbeda dalam membingkai sebuah berita, bingkai pemberitaan dapat mempengaruhi cara pandang dan pola pikir pembacanya. Kebanyakan media di Indonesia menyoroti kebijakan daerah dari gubernur DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan karena berdasarkan daerah DKI Jakarta merupakan daerah dengan tingkat tertinggi yang terinfeksi virus Corona, maka dari itu banyak media yang menyoroti kebijakan dari gubernur Anies Baswedan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan tentang bagaimana cara media membingkai sebuah berita sehingga pembaca bisa mengikuti pemikiran dari media tersebut, dengan fokus pemberitaan media online detik.com dan cnnindonesia.com sebagai sampel yang memuat berita kebijakan transisi pemerintah provinsi DKI Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Model analisis framing dari Zhongdang Pan dan Gerald M. Kosicki dengan model framing ini menggunakan empat struktur yaitu Sintaksis, Skrip, Tematik, dan Retoris. Hasil dari penelitian ini memberi kesimpulan bahwa media detik.com mengkontruksi pemberitaan Anies Baswedan dengan netral, sedangkan media cnnindonesia.com mengkonstruksi pemberitaan Anies Baswedan dengan cenderung berpihak.

Abstract

The Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Makarim already announced the guidelines for implementing the new school academic year 2020, on June 15, 2020. The execution of the new academic year during the COVID-19 pandemic reaps many pros and cons of several groups. Because many argue that the curriculum explanation in the pandemic period has not detailed, and the fulfillment of the quality of education can not run one hundred percent. Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic is still in the peak stages, so it is very worrying if it continues to open the school in the middle of this pandemic. This research uses Robert N. Entman`s Framing Model analysis method with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this research are online media detik.com, kompas.com, and CNNIndonesia.com. This study aims to describe the framing of reporting the implementation of the new school academic year 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic in online media detik.com, kompas.com, and CNNIndonesia.com is reporting the execution of the new school academic year 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The result of this study indicate that (1) Detik.com, Kompas.com, and CNNIndonesia.com generate public opinion movements which focus on the problem factors that hinder the implementation of the new academic year 2020/2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, (2) The media coverage by CNNIndonesia.com do not use elements treatment recommendation, (3) Many reports that discuses the type of curriculum during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The Instagram account @kulinergresik experienced an increasing number of followers along with the increase in the number of food orders, during the COVID-19 Pandemic. This study intends to analyze whether there is a relationship between pandemic conditions and as an independent variable with the purchase interest of the millennial generation of Gresik Regency on the account @kulinergresik as the dependent variable. The quantitative research method uses Spearman rank correlation analysis and t-test for the hypothesis. The study population was 144,000 followers of the @kulinergresik account with purposive sampling and data collection through the distribution of google form as a questionnaire to 100 respondents. The results showed that between the two research variables had a correlation coefficient of 0.389, meaning that it indicated a positive relationship. Besides, the results of t-test showed a 5% significance level, and it has a meaning that the hypothesis accepted. In conclusion, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, millennial generation buying interest through the @kulinergresik account has increased.

Abstract

Kemunculan teori strukturation oleh Anthony Giddens, merupakan tanggapan terhadap klaim post-strukturalis. Strukturasi menyatakan manusia memiliki kemampuan membuat struktur dan secara sukarela menentukan struktur untuk mereka sendiri, artinya manusia memiliki kebebasan penuh untuk membangun lingkungan hidup sendiri. Salah satu nomenklatur khas dalam teori strukturasi adalah hubungan manusia sebagai “agency” terhadap “struktur” atau institusi. Artikel ini memaparkan hubungan antara nomenklatur dan konsep-konsep dalam teori strukturasi dan memberikan contoh kontektual dan relevan. Gagasan tentang kontinum ruang-waktu memberikan kemudahan untuk memahami fenomena geografis. Perkotaan merupakan arena yang memiliki serangkaian hubungan yang rumit antara manusia dan lingkungannya, seperti: penataan tempat tinggal, mobilitas dalam lingkungan, persaingan ekonomi, pekerjaan dan sebagainya. Pemahaman terhadap kompleksitas teori strukturasi Giddens dapat dimanfaatkan untuk penerapan pembangunan modernitas di dalam masyarakat. Globalisasi, modernitas dan Jalan Ketiga merupakan diskusi yang menarik dan dalam dari pemikiran orisinal dan cerdas Anthony Giddens berikutnya. Jalan Ketiga menjelma sebagai ideologi politik tengah diantara dua kutub idelogi sosialisme kiri dan kapitalisme kanan.
