Abstract

The success of the aquaculture farming group in the development of rural aquaculture is highly determined by the cooperation and the commitment of the entire farming group, technical team, and extension institutions, particularly government employee and contract fishery assisting extension workers. The present study aimed to analyze the effects of extension workers’ performance and direct community assistance on the success of the Rural Aquaculture Development Program (Pengembangan Usaha Mina Perdesaan Perikanan  Budidaya – PUMP-PB) in the East Sumba Regency. Data was analyzed using a descriptive qualitative and partial least square (PLS) method. Data collection was carried out by interview, observation, and documentation. Meanwhile, a census sampling method was employed to select a total of 102 respondents from 17 groups, from which 6 persons were selected (3 persons in management and 3 persons as members). Results show that: 1) extension workers’ performance have a highly significant influence on the success of the Rural Aquaculture Development Program in the East Sumba Regency, with facilitating the strengthening of Pokdakan agencies as a dominant extension workers performance indicator; 2) the direct community assistance from the Rural Venture Development of Aquaculture have a significant impact on the success of Rural Aquaculture Development Program in the East Sumba Regency, with distribution of direct community assistance as a dominant extension workers performance indicator; 3) collectively, both the extension workers’ performance and the direct community assistance of PUMP-PB variables appears to have a significant influence on the success of the PUMP-PB program, with a coefficient of determination (R2) value of 27.90%. The study suggests that it is imperative to increase the performance of extension workers in rural aquaculture development program in the East Sumba Regency, as it has been proven to have a positive impact on the success of the program. It is also necessary to extend the provision of direct community assistance, which has played a significant role in the success of the rural aquaculture development program. Further research is needed to determine other factors that may influence the success of the rural aquaculture development program in the East Sumba Regency.

Abstract

Land conversion is a process of change in land use of a particular form of usage become another example to non-agricultural use. Conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural agricultural development is a central issue that can have a significant impact on food production, economic and social aspects of environmental aspects. Conversion phenomenon is basically the result of the competition between agricultural land use to non-agricultural sector arising from the three economic and social phenomena are limited natural resources, population growth and economic growth. Viewing the phenomenon of this research was conducted in order to find the factors that affect the conversion of land either as a motivating factor as well as towing. Furthermore, of these factors can be analyzed to see its effect on the welfare of farmers converting land in Subak Jadi District of Kediri, Tabanan. The method used in this study is a quantitative method. Sources of data used in this study using primary data source is by distributing questionnaires directly to farmers and secondary data sources to find data from BPS and other relevant sources. Sampling of the population is performed using Slovin formula. Data analysis method used is the method of factor analysis, multiple linear regression and paired sample t test with a standard error of 5% (? = 0.05). Research results obtained are all variables simultaneously and significantly affect the conversion. Partial conversion of the driving factors of land there are just external push factors have a significant effect. The variable is the soil quality, housing needs, and the opportunity to buy land elsewhere. Suggestion for reducing lan conversion is the government should reinforce the regulations in the field of licensing, especially to build in wetlands. Government should also tighten the rules of buying and selling land, especially agricultural land should be sold but kept for agricultural land.

Abstract

Sektor pertanian di Kabupaten Bangli memberikan kontribusi terbesar terhadap Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB) Provinsi Bali yang mencapai Rp 939,394,0 juta dibandingkan dengan sektor lain. Kontribusi besar dari sektor pertanian sering tidak diimbangi dengan pertumbuhan daerah di pusat produksi komoditas pertanian itu sendiri. Berdasarkan Indeks Kesulitan Geografis Desa (IKG) yang dirilis oleh Biro Pusat Statistik Bali 2014, tercatat bahwa IKG tertinggi ada di Kabupaten Bangli. Tingginya angka IKG di Kabupaten Bangli dapat menunjukkan bahwa potensi di Kabupaten Bangli, terutama potensi pertanian belum berkembang secara maksimal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan tipologi Kabupaten Bangli, menjelaskan potensi dan komoditas pertanian di Kabupaten Bangli, dan juga menjelaskan pergeseran ekonomi di Kabupaten Bangli. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kabupaten Bangli menggunakan data sekunder. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis Tipologi Klassen, analisis LQ dan DLQ, dan analisis Shift Share. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tipologi Kabupaten Bangli berada di kuadran IV (empat), artinya Kabupaten Bangli relatif berada di wilayah terbelakang di Provinsi Bali. Potensi komoditas pertanian di Kabupaten Bangli yang perlu dikembangkan adalah komoditas tanaman seperti bawang merah, kubis, buncis, labu, bayam, jeruk, pisang, tembakau, dan tanaman kopi. Hasil analisis Shift Share menunjukkan bahwa struktur ekonomi di Kabupaten Bangli ditransformasikan dari bidang usaha pertanian ke jasa dengan total nilai perubahan terbesar kemudian dilanjutkan oleh bidang industri dan bidang terakhir adalah usaha pertanian. Saran yang dapat diberikan kepada pemerintah Kabupaten Bangli adalah bahwa mereka diharapkan untuk terus memberikan penyuluhan kepada petani, untuk memprioritaskan pembangunan dan mengidentifikasi sektor unggulan, terutama komoditas yang dapat dikembangkan secara optimal di daerah tertentu, dan mempertahankan pertanian unggul. produk yang telah dicapai saat ini dan memacu pertumbuhan komoditas berkembang, sehingga produk unggulan tidak mengalami tren menurun di tahun-tahun mendatang. Jadi, Kabupaten Bangli di masa depan bisa menjadi daerah yang berkembang dan berkembang pesat. Selain sektor-sektor terkemuka, sektor non-dasar, terutama sektor pertanian harus lebih memperhatikan dalam perencanaan pembangunan pertanian; dengan demikian diharapkan PDRB Kabupaten Bangli terus meningkat.

Abstract

One alternative destination agrotourism in Bali is Agrowisata Pesuteraan alam Sutera Sari Segara located in the village Sibangkaja, District Abiansemal. The agrotourism is a potential to be developed in the world of tourismin Bali. Market segmentation is still dominated by 99 percent students are very massive factor in the development of the market in Bali. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of the work done by agrotourism, internal and external factors that influence the development of agrotourism, and alternative development strategies and priorities in agrotourism. Respondents in this study were dividedin to two, namely the respondent's internal and external respondents. Internal respondents were employees of agrotourism taken by census and external respondents that visitors and government who have a relationship with agrotourism. The results of research to get 5 alternative strategies witheach priorityi san alternative way of running the promotion of agrotourism by way of advertising and media selection through brochures, synergy between agrotourism and stakeholders by way of synergy between agrotourism with the private sector, the expansion of market segments using market segmentation way, improving the quality of HR by way of provision of qualified work force, and the quality of agrotourism attractions and silk fabric by settin gquality standards. Suggestions that cangive authors in this study is the use of alternative strategies and priorities that are used to further develop agrotourism. Alternative promotion of agrotourism means of advertising that holds the highest value can be used to developth is agrobusiness. Selection of media for advertising such as brochures media is the most efficient and effective way to convey information to tourists or potential tourists.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui indeks dan status keberlanjutan usahatani padi gogo ditinjau dari dimensi ekonomi, ekologi, sosial budaya, hukum dan kelembagaan serta teknologi dan infrastruktur, untuk mengetahui atribut yang sensitif terhadap keberlanjutan usahatani padi gogo, dan untuk menetapkan strategi keberlanjutan usahatani padi gogo di Kabupaten Bangli Provinsi Bali. Analisis data dilakukan dengan RAP-FARM melalui metode Multidimensional Scaling (MDS), analisis leverage dan analisis prospektif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa nilai indeks keberlanjutan usahatani padi gogo untuk dimensi ekologi (60,21) dan sosial budaya (56,98) termasuk kedalam kategori status cukup berkelanjutan, sedangkan untuk dimensi ekonomi (41,53), hukum dan kelembagaan (27,80) serta teknologi dan infrastruktur (36,61) berada pada status kurang berkelanjutan. Secara multidimensi nilai indeks dan status keberlanjutan usahatani padi gogo di Kabupaten Bangli sebesar 44,63 yang tergolong dalam kategori kurang berkelanjutan. Pada analisis leverage diperoleh 15 atribut sensitif dari lima dimensi keberlanjutan yang diteliti. Pada analisis prospektif diperoleh enam variabel kunci yang mempunyai pengaruh kuat terhadap keberlanjutan usahatani padi gogo, yaitu subsidi pemerintah dalam lima tahun terakhir, tingkat pengunaan pupuk anorganik, tingkat penggunaan pupuk organik, pemanfaatan jerami sebagai pupuk organik, stabilitas harga beras ditingkat petani, dan frekuensi kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Untuk keberlanjutan usahatani padi gogo sebaiknya dilakukan upaya peningkatan status keberlanjutan usahatani padi gogo melalui intervensi terhadap atribut sensitif dan menetapkan strategi keberlanjutan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Tri Hita Karana has becomes the foundation of development in the Province of Bali, its reflected in the vision of the development in the Province of Bali in 2006-2026 "Bali Dwipa Jaya, Fair, and Democratic, and Safe and Unified". Tri Hita Karana has becomes the foundation of development in Bali, the Tri Hita Karana must be applied to various community activities such as politics, economics, socials, defenses, and securities. Satria Agrowisata has application the Tri Hita Karana concept. The research aimed to analyzed the suitability between expectations and realities on the application of Tri Hita Karana at Satria Agrowisata, to analyzed the connection of application of Tri Hita Karana with management of Satria Agrowisata, and to analyzed satisfied visitors of Satria Agrowisata toward agrotourism activities with Tri Hita Karana application. Data of this research were used qualitative and quantitative. The research location is in Satria Agrowisata was chosen by purposive. The researchs were used two types of sampling methode such as census sampling and accidental sampling. Collection of data in the research were used several methods such as observations, interviews, and documentations. To analyzed the data, the research were used descriptive qualitative analysis method and Rank Spearman correlation. The results of the researchs were show the suitability between expectations and realities on the application of Tri Hita Karana at Satria Agrowisata is very suitable. The connection between Tri Hita Karana and management in agrotourism is very weak. Visitors of Satria Agrowisata were very satisfied with agrotourism activities in Satria Agrowisata which Tri Hita Karana application. The suggestions are to continue the application of Tri Hita Karana in activities agrotourism, to improve the connection between the application of Tri Hita Karana and management at the Agrotourism, and Satria Agrowisata needs to improve the quality of their service and add varieties of drinks and foods.

Abstract

The Ministry of Agriculture targeted the farmers' per capita income of IDR 7.93 million/year in 2014. This target has not been achieved because farm productivity still low. A beef cattle business was developed by Yayasan Mitra Tani Mandiri (YMTM) through a partnership with livestock farmers, however it hasn’t been known effectiveness level of the partnership. The study was to determine the effectiveness level of beef cattle business partnerships; the influence of the characteristics of livestock farmers, the mentoring from YMTM and the seven techniques of beef cattle business on the effectiveness of the partnership; and the influence of the effectiveness of the partnerships on the livestock farmers’ income. Population of the study were farmers who received cattle from YMTM. Sampling was conducted through proportional stratified, covering 156 livestock farmers. The data were analyzed by method quantitative descriptive and relationship analysis with SmartPLS. The beef cattle business partnership between YMTM and the livestock farmers in TTU can be classified into the sufficient category of effective. All the exogenous factors, namely the characteristics of livestock farmers, mentoring YMTM and the seven techniques of beef cattle business have a significant effect on the effectiveness of the partnership. The average of the weight gain of cattle is 262 gram/catlle/day, which is tended in 2.1 years period. Likewise, the income of livestock farmers is influenced significantly by the effectiveness of the partnership. Revenue from the beef cattle business partnerships contribute on average 29.91 % (IDR 3,574,002) to the livestock farmers’ total income (IDR 11,949,342). Suggestions which can be made to improve the partnership including increasing the weight gain of cattle per day, select calves from good stock lines, increasing the frequency of trainings which deal with the techniques and management of the  cattle business, processing livestock manure, and processing the remains of crops into nutritious fodder.

Abstract

Tanah merupakan sumber daya utama dalam menjalankan pembangunan. Berkurangnya luas lahan khususnya lahan pertanian untuk pembangunan juga berdampak pada luas lahan pertanian di Bali khususnya di Kabupaten Badung. Pembangunan akomodasi untuk menunjang sektor pariwisata menyebabkan terjadinya konversi lahan pertanian di Kabupaten Badung yang banyak terdapat di Badung Selatan. Badung Utara yang tidak memiliki objek wisata sebanyak di Badung Selatan ternyata juga mengalami alih fungsi lahan pertanian khususnya persawahan seperti yang terjadi di Kecamatan Abiansemal dan Mengwi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya konversi lahan sawah di Kecamatan Badung Utara dan menentukan strategi pengendalian konversi lahan sawah di Kabupaten Badung Utara. Teknik penentuan informan kunci dilakukan secara purposive sampling dengan jumlah 20 orang. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya konversi sawah atau lahan sawah di Badung Utara adalah unsur ekonomi yaitu pendapatan usahatani padi, stabilitas harga panen, akses pemasaran hasil panen dan harga lahan padi. Unsur sosial yaitu partisipasi keluarga dalam pengelolaan sawah, pengaruh modernisasi terhadap pertanian, jumlah anggota keluarga yang ditampung dan kaderisasi pengelolaan sawah. Unsur ketiga adalah lingkungan, yaitu tingkat pengairan sawah, hama penyakit, dan kebutuhan perumahan akibat pertambahan penduduk. Strategi pengendalian konversi lahan basah di Badung Utara yang dapat dilakukan berdasarkan prioritas pengelolaan jangka pendek di sektor mandiri adalah program Milenial Farmer.

Abstract

Potency of Trichoderma sp. and Gliocladium sp. as microbial antagonist on Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense A total of 115 different fungus isolate were recovered from banana crop habitats with and without Fusarium wilt disease symptom. These were than assessed for their antagonist ability againstFusarium oxysporum f.sp.cubense (Foc)in vitro.The soil samples were collected from three regencies in Bali, i.e. Karangasem, Klungkung and Jembrana which are the main banana growing areas in Bali. Soil sampling was done in two sites in each regency representing the banana habitat with and without Fusarium wilt symptom, by collecting 100 grams of soil surrounding the banana plant at the depth of 20 cm. The isolate was macroscopically identified to know the color of colony and the growth rate, and microscopically to observe the shape of hypae, the shape of spore, and sporangiospore. The research was done on August until December 2009. Results indicated that one isolates ofGliocladium sp. and 22 isolates of Trichoderma sp. active against Foc. Trichoderma sp. was able to inhibit the Foc mycelium growth were 78.89 ± 1.11- 95.83 ± 7.22 % and Gliocladium sp. inhibited until 95.83 ± 7.22%. After tested with the Foc isolated from four banana cultivars in Bali (Saba, Ketip, Susu and Raja), all of the isolates was able to inhibit the Focin vitro.

Abstract

The growth rate comparison of white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus (Jacq. ex Fr)Kummer) mycelium in the composition of different seed (F3) and baglog media . Cultivation ofoyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus (Jacq. ex Fr) Kummer) has grown rapidly along with the increasein income and health awareness. Oyster mushrooms growing need for media with a particular compositionin order to grow optimally. Oyster mushroom production is determined by the quality of the seeds (F3)is used, which is sourced from the media with good quality and composition. The research aimed todetermine the rate of growth of white oyster mushroom mycelium in the different composition of seedmedium (F3) (sawdust: fine bran: corn flour: CaCO3 ). The experiments was conducted at nurseriesand oyster mushroom development, Jl. Siulan Gang Zella No. 7 Denpasar, from June to August 2013.Each treatment contained 50 bottles, and 10 bottles only used as a sample, in environmental conditionswith temperature and humidity ranges, 20-29oC and 59-86% respectively . T-test was used todifferentiate the growth rate of white oyster mushroom mycelium with different compositions. Theresults showed that seeds (F3) derived from the growing media composition, sawdust (1 week old):fine bran: corn flour: CaCO3 (10:4:2:0,5) significantly different and better than the composition sawdust(age 1 month ): fine bran: corn flour (20:2:1:0.5), with a growth rate of mycelium in a mean 6.14±0.56cm/week and 1,81±0,82 cm/week, respectively. Spawn running in baglog with media composition10:4:2:0.5 was 2.77±1.22cm/week, but with composition media 20:2:1:0.5 mycelium could not grow.Effect of temperature and humidity on the growth rate of white oyster mushroom mycelium in seedmedia (F3) is not significantly.
