Abstract

Twenty-first century learning demands that teachers be more creative, innovative, and collaborative, with the ability to integrate digital technology into instructional models to foster students' 6C skills: character, citizenship, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. One alternative learning resource aligned with both 21st-century competencies and the independent learning curriculum is the electronic booklet (e-booklet). This study aims to evaluate the suitability, feasibility, and readability of teaching materials in the form of an e-booklet on the subtopic of the virus replication process, designed based on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model for Grade X high school students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D model by Thiagarajan et al. (1974), which in this study was implemented up to the limited dissemination stage in a test school and through publication. Data were collected using evaluation instruments for content suitability, technical feasibility, and readability. Participants included three experts (two Biology Education lecturers from FKIP ULM and one teacher from SMAN 13 Banjarmasin) and twelve Grade XI students from SMAN 13 Banjarmasin. The results showed that the e-booklet was rated "very suitable" (score: 4.60), indicating alignment with learning objectives, language, format, and media; "very feasible" (score: 4.82), reflecting technical viability as a teaching material; and "very good" for readability (score: 4.78), showing it is easy for students to understand. These findings suggest that the developed e-booklet is a highly effective alternative to conventional teaching materials.

Abstract

Abstract

This study is motivated by low academic self-confidence which can reduce students' learning motivation in completing school assignments. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of academic self-confidence of grade X students of SMA Plus Al-Aqsha Cibeusi in the 2023/2024 school year. The study used a descriptive quantitative approach with a population of all X grade students totaling 136 students. The sampling technique used saturated samples, so that the entire population was sampled. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, and distribution of self-confidence instruments with a Likert scale. The validity test was carried out on 54 items and obtained 31 valid questions using the Product Moment formula with a significance of 5%. Reliability test using Cronbach's Alpha coefficient obtained a value of 0.719, indicating a reliable instrument. Normality test using Kolmogorov-Smirnov showed a significance of 0.613, so the data was normally distributed. Data analysis used descriptive statistics with frequency distribution to categorize self-confidence in the high, medium, and low categories. The results showed 16 students (12%) were in the high category, 119 students (88%) in the medium category, and 1 student (1%) in the low category.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the effects of professionalism and work discipline on employee performance at PT X, with the Employee Development Program serving as an intervening variable. Methodology: A descriptive quantitative research design was employed, utilizing purposive sampling techniques with 100 respondents. Data were analyzed using SmartPLS software, including Outer Model Test analysis, Cronbach’s Alpha, Average Variance Extracted (AVE), Composite Reliability, R², and estimates for path coefficients. Results: The results indicate that professionalism positively affects employee performance (T = 2.639, p = 0.009) and enhances employee development programs (T = 2.344, p = 0.019). Work discipline, while negatively affecting performance (T = 1.784, p = 0.075), significantly positively influences employee development programs (T = 4.764, p = 0.000). Employee development programs are found to significantly improve performance (T = 3.890, p = 0.000). Findings: The study highlights that professionalism and employee development programs play a critical role in enhancing employee performance, while work discipline, despite its positive impact on development programs, does not have a significant direct effect on performance. Novelty: This research provides new empirical insights into the interplay between professionalism, work discipline, and employee development programs, emphasizing their impact on employee performance. Originality: The study is original in its focus on the mediating role of employee development programs in the context of professionalism and work discipline. Conclusions: Professionalism and structured development programs are key to enhancing employee performance. Type of Paper: Empirical research paper.

Abstract

Long bean is a vegetable from the legume family that is rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber. This study aims to determine the growth and yield response of two long bean varieties to different biosaka concentrations. The study used a two-factor Randomized Block Design with interaction. The first factor consisted of two long bean varieties: V1 = Fagiola IPB Variety, and V2 = Parade Tavi, while the second factor was the biosaka concentration (B), which included three levels: B0 = 0 ml, B1 = 30 ml/l, and B2 = 60 ml/l. The results showed that the Parade Tavi variety and Fagiola IPB variety only significantly differed in the fresh weight per sample, while the biosaka concentration significantly affected the stem diameter. The Parade Tavi variety at the first harvest, 45 days after planting (DAP), had a stem diameter of 5.08 mm, fruit length of 32.12 cm, fresh weight per sample of 2.68 g, dry weight per sample of 0.48 g, and fresh weight per plot of 527.33 g. Meanwhile, the 60 ml/l biosaka concentration at the first harvest, 45 DAP, had a stem diameter of 5.62 mm, fruit length of 32.49 cm, fresh weight per sample of 2.79 g, dry weight per sample of 0.49 g, and fresh weight per plot of 532.33 g. These average values were relatively better compared to the Fagiola IPB variety and the 30 ml/l biosaka concentration. However, no interaction was found between the varieties and biosaka concentrations for all observed parameters.

Abstract

The development of fine motor skills in children is a crucial ability that can be nurtured. The development of fine motor skills is frequently delayed in children with exceptional disabilities. Technology-based games, available in a variety of specialized smartphone applications, are one way to gradually and entertainingly improve children's fine motor skills. The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness technology-based games in helping children with special needs develop their fine motor skills. The research design uses a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pre-post test approach. A total of 28 children with special needs were the subjects of the study. Data were collected through observation using the Bender Visual Motor Gestalt Test instrument and analyzed using the Wilcoxon statistical test. The research results show that after engaging in technology-based games, the percentage of those surveyed with high fine motor abilities rose from 21.4% to 57.1% after playing technology-based games. Statistical test analysis showed a significant improvement in the fine motor skills of children with special needs after being given technology-based games, with a p-value of 0.000 and α < 0.05. The results of this study provide evidence of the influence of technology-based games on fine motor skills in special needs children. The implications of the research on technology-based games can be an effective alternative for developing fine motor skills in special needs children.
