Abstract

Ikan cupang (Betta splendens R.) merupakan salah satu jenis ikan yang memiliki corak dan pola warna yang unik dibandingkan ikan lain. Warna dalam ikan disebabkan oleh adanya faktor sel kromatofora yang terdapat pada bagian kulit dermis. Salah satu langkah untuk mendapatkan performa warna yang merata dengan memberikan penambahan sumber pigmen kedalam pakan yaitu dengan penambahan astaxanthin.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis dan menentukan kadar pengaruh astaxanthin terhadap warna ikan cupang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Basah Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Diponegoro Semarang pada bulan Agustus–September 2022. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen, rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dengan 3 kali ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah menggunakan dosis Astaxanthin yaitu A (0%), B (2,5%), C (5%), dan D (7,5%). Pengukuran performa warna menggunakan software Adobe Photoshop CC dan dengan metode TCF (Toca Colour Finder) yang selanjutnya diberi angka skor. Ikan uji yang digunakan adalah ikan cupang jenis halfmoon yang memiliki warna tubuh orange kemerahan dengan warna yang seragam dengan memiliki ukuran bobot berkisar antara 1,23-2,20g/ekor. Ikan cupang dipelihara di akuarium dengan ukuran (20x15x15) cm3 dengan padat tebar 1 ekor per akuarium. Pemeliharaan ikan cupang dilakukan selama 40 hari dengan metode pemberian pakan at satiation.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan astaxanthin dalam pakan komersial memberikan pengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap performa warna, Total Konsumsi Pakan (TKP), Rasio Konversi Pakan (FCR), Efisiensi Pemanfaatan Pakan (EPP), Protein Efisiensi Rasio (PER), dan Laju Pertumbuhan Relatif (RGR), namun tidak berpengaruh (P>0,05) terhadap nilai kelulushidupan ikan cupang. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut didapatkan dosis terbaik penambahan astaxanthin yaitu pada dosis 7,5% yang menghasilkan nilai TCF sebesar 4,67, nilai hue sebesar 16,33°; dan pertumbuhan terbaik yaitu pada dosis 2,5% dengan nilai  TKP (0,69 g), FCR (1,20), EPP (83,59%), PER (2,38%), dan nilai RGR (0,91%/hari).Kata kunci: ikan cupang, astaxanthin, pakan buatan, performa warna, pertumbuhan

Abstract

Pengenalan software Geogebra dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah menengah memungkinkan untuk mendukung kemampuan literasi numerasi mereka. Pada kegiatan ini Geogebra dikenalkan kepada siswa-siswa SMA-SMK Kartini Palembang. Penguasaan tentang konsep dasar matematika seperti sudut, garis sejajar, garis tegak lurus, garis singgung, lingkaran, persamaan, pertidaksamaan, dan fungsi merupakan pondasi dalam mempelajari materi lebih lanjut guna menunjang kemampuan litersi numerasi. Selanjutnya pengayaan diberikan kepada khalayak sasaran dengan mengenalkan Geogebra. Uji beda rata-rata kedua kelompok nilai pra-test dan post-test dengan tingkat signifikansi 5 % menunjukkan bahwa kedua kelompok memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan. Hasil ini juga menginfomasikan bahwa rata-rata nilai post-test belum secara signifikan mengalami peningkatan. Peningkatan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi khalayak sasaran belum cukup memuaskan. Hasil rata-rata post-test yang mencapai nilai 70.80 dari semua peserta/khalayak sasaran juga menunjukkan bahwa kriteria dan indikator pencapaian tujuan yaitu lebih dari 80% khalayak sasaran berhasil mengerjakan semua soal pada post-tes, namun rata-rata hasil tes khalayak sasaran lebih dari 80 belum tercapai. Artinya kegiatan sejenis perlu lebih banyak lagi diadakan di sekolah tersebut.

Abstract

Livestock blood waste has significant potential to be utilized as an alternative feed ingredient due to its high protein content, reaching up to 80%, and abundant availability. However, blood waste is known to contain high levels of iron and an imbalanced amino acid profile. Based on these issues, one potential solution is to ferment livestock blood waste to enhance its nutritional value. This review article aims to compile and analyze various effective fermentation methods and identify best practices in the fermentation process of livestock blood waste. Fermentation can be carried out using various microbes, mainly lactic acid bacteria. Fermentation treatment of livestock blood waste with lactic acid bacteria using lactic acid concentrations ranging from 3% to 6% produces blood waste with a well-balanced nutritional profile. Meanwhile, the optimal use of blood waste as an alternative feed ingredient for fish is achieved by adding formic and propionic acids at doses of 1.5%–3%, improving fish protein digestibility by 94.66%. This indicates that livestock blood waste can be an alternative raw material in fish feed production

Abstract

Marine by-products hold significant potential to be utilized as raw materials with added value, particularly in producing high-quality and environmentally friendly fish feed. This study aims to review the impact of fermentation on the physical and chemical properties of marine by-products. The method employed is a narrative literature review, referencing scientific literature from databases such as ScienceDirect and Google Scholar. The literature analysis highlights changes in physical structure, such as alterations in color and odor, that contribute to improved feed digestibility. In addition, fermentation also increases nutrient content, including proteins and essential amino acids, and produces bioactive compounds that act as antimicrobials and antioxidants. This study identifies that fermentation reduces waste and enhances its economic value for various applications, such as fish feed and alternative raw materials. Thus, this review provides innovative solutions for marine by-product management while supporting sustainability and efficiency principles in the fisheries industry

Abstract

Limbah hasil peternakan salah satunya bulu ayam yang dapat digunakan sebagai pakan alternatif untuk meminimalisir biaya pengeluaran untuk pakan ikan. Pakan merupakan salah satu faktor penting untuk menunjang pertumbuhan ikan sehingga butuh produksi yang sangat banyak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efisiensi pemanfaatan bulu ayam sebagai pakan alternatif. Bulu ayam berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ternak karena memiliki kandungan protein yang tinggi, yaitu 80 - 90% dari bahan kering, melebihi kandungan protein kasar bungkil kedelai (42,5%) dan tepung ikan (66,5%). Potensi limbah bulu ayam di Indonesia kurang lebih sebanyak 167 ribu ton per tahun. Bulu ayam memiliki kandungan protein yang tinggi, tetapi protein bulu ayam merupakan jenis protein yang sulit dicerna oleh ikan karena tergolong protein keratin. Metode yang digunakan dalam mengolah limbah bulu ayam hingga menjadi pakan yaitu proses fermentasi yang melibatkan bakteri Bacillus yang dapat mendegradasi keratin. Fermentasi bulu ayam menggunakan bakteri dapat meningkatkan kadar protein kasar sebanyak 2-15%. Tepung bulu ayam fermentasi pada pakan dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan ikan sebesar 2-5% lebih cepat.

Abstract

Contamination of coliform bacteria in benthic foraminifera has been reported due to pollution of organic wastes in the aquatic environment around coral reef ecosystems and this event was known to interfere the process of foraminifera shell formation which in turn resulted the disruption of the role of foraminifera in the process of formation of coral reef bottom sediments. The aim of this research is to identify the isolates of culturable coliform bacteria that contaminate foraminifera Calcarina species isolated from the waters of the Pramuka Island, the Seribu Island district, Jakarta Province using the 16S rRNA gene markers. Foraminifera sampling was carried out in the waters of Pramuka Island, the Seribu Island district, Jakarta Province in 5 (five) stations, while the process of bacterial isolation and molecular identification were carried out at the Laboratory of Microbiology and Molecular Biotechnology (MICROMOL), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK), University Padjadjaran. Molecular identification was carried out using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method based on the 16S rRNA gene markers. Sequencing is done by sending PCR results to 1st Base, sequencing service company, in Singapore and then, the aligning of sequencing results with databases in genBank was done using  the Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLASTTM) program available on the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website. The results of 16S rRNA gene amplification from the five isolates produced amplicons of ± 1400 bp length with concentrations ranging from 157.5 µg / mL-230 µg / mL and with a purity ratio ranging from 1.477-1.769. While the results of BLAST and phylogenetic analysis showed that the five isolates were closely related to the isolate Eschericia coli strain inspire99 (Acc No. JQ315935.1), which was isolated from the waters of the Bay of Bengal, India. These results also indicate the existence of ecological connectivity between the waters of the Bay of Bengal in India and the waters of Pramuka Island in Indonesia.

Abstract

Unit Kerja Budidaya Air Payau (UKBAP) Samas berperan penting dalam pengembangan budidaya benur udang galah, khususnya varietas Sijawa. Riset ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus untuk menganalisis strategi pemasaran yang efektif, serta potensi dan tantangan dalam pemasaran benur udang galah. Bauran pemasaran 4P mencakup produk benur udang galah dengan harga jual Rp. 40,- yang berada di situs A UKBAP Samas dengan melakukan promosi melalui berbagai saluran. Analisis SWOT menunjukan adanya kekuatan UKBAP Samas dalam memproduksi benur dengan harga tetap, namun tantangan yang dihadapi meliputi harga pakan alami yang cukup mahal dan risiko penyakit pada larva udang galah. Strategi pemasaran yang diterapkan mencakup segmentasi pasar berdasarkan kriteria geografis, demografis, psikografis, dan perilaku, dengan penekanan pada target pasar lokal dan luar daerah. Sistem distribusi yang digunakan meliputi distribusi langsung dan tidak langsung. Hasil riset ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi UKBAP Samas dalam memanfaatkan keunggulan benur udang galah yang bernilai tinggi dan minim pesaing di DIY, berhasil meningkatkan nilai ekonomi dan distribusi benur udang galah dengan melakukan manajemen pemeliharaan dan pengelolaan lingkungan budidaya yang lebih baik.

Abstract

The respiratory system of fish is particularly susceptible to parasitic infections and diseases that can cause significant histopathological changes. This article discusses the adaptation of fish's respiratory system to environmental stresses caused by parasites and pathogens, as well as the histopathological changes that occur in response to infection. Some of the major changes observed include hyperplasia, hypertrophy, necrosis, and edema of the tissues in the gills, which can affect the respiratory function of the fish. In addition, granuloma formation and increased mucus production were also noted as adaptive responses to parasitic infections. Although some histopathological changes can improve the fish's body defenses, the tissue damage that occurs as a result of chronic infections can lead to serious impaired respiratory function and decrease the survival of fish. Understanding the mechanisms of adaptation and histopathological changes is very important for fish health management, especially in aquaculture, in order to reduce the negative impact of diseases and increase fish productivity.

Abstract

The use of herbal plants in aquaculture has emerged as a sustainable and eco-friendly approach to improving fish health, enhancing immunity, and boosting growth performance. Various herbs are rich in bioactive compounds that stimulate non-specific defense mechanisms, enhance phagocytic activity, and reduce oxidative stress through their antioxidant properties. These immunostimulatory effects improve disease resistance and overall well-being in fish. Additionally, herbal supplementation has demonstrated significant growth-promoting effects by improving feed conversion efficiency and productivity in aquaculture systems. This review summarizes the roles of key herbal plants in aquaculture, highlighting their potential as natural alternatives to synthetic chemicals and antibiotics. The findings underscore the importance of integrating herbal remedies into aquaculture practices to enhance fish health and sustainability.

Abstract

Sex education for children is education to introduce private and closed parts of the body that must be maintained. This research began with the problem that researchers found at RA Rahmah El-Yunusiyyah Padang Panjang that many children's questions were related to sexuality. The purpose of this sex education is to understand sexual behaviors that appear according to the child's age. This sex education is also expected to minimize things that parents do not want related to the many cases of sexual violence that occur against early childhood.This study aims to describe and find out parents' strategies for sex education for 5-6 year old children in Raudhatul Athfal Rahmah El-Yunusiyyah Padang Panjang.  This type of research is a qualitative and using approach and naturalistic phenomenology. The data collection method in this study uses observation, interviews, and documentation. Furthermore, to test the validity of the data, the researcher uses the triangulation technique. Then to analyze the data, the researcher divided it into three components, including: data reduction, data display (data presentation) and conclusion drawing (data verification).Based on the results of the interviews conducted by the researcher, it can be concluded that parents do not know sex education for 5-6 year old children in RA REY, therefore of the 8 (eight) strategies written in the parental theory have not been maximized in applying to children, because parents are constrained by the lack of sex science for children so that parents often run away from questions and are not open in delivering sex education to children. Although parents know the great benefits for their children in the future so that they can keep their children away from sexual deviations in adolescence, parents have not yet provided sex education according to the child's age stages.Keywords: Parent Strategy, Sex Education
