Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of using the interactive map “Cakrawala Budaya” on the Social Studies (IPAS) learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Percontohan 091317 Pematang Raya, Raya District, Simalungun Regency. The method used was a quasi-experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design, involving two classes: an experimental class and a control class. The sample size used in this study was 50 students, drawn using a total sampling technique. The results showed that the use of interactive maps significantly improved student learning outcomes, with the experimental group's average learning outcome reaching 86.92, while the control group's average was 76.88. Hypothesis testing using an Independent Sample t-test yielded a significant value (p < 0.001), indicating a significant positive effect of interactive maps on learning outcomes. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of interactive maps significantly improves the learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary students at SD 091317 Pematang Raya.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model on students' critical thinking skills in Mathematics learning for fifth graders at SDN 101775 Sampali. This research was conducted at SDN 101775 Sampali using a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The subjects in this study were fifth grade students at SDN 101775 Sampali, consisting of two classes totaling 62 students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and tests. The instrument used in this study was an essay test to measure students' critical thinking skills. The results of the study showed a significant and positive influence between before and after the implementation of the SSCS learning model in improving critical thinking skills in fifth-grade mathematics learning. This is evidenced by the results of the hypothesis test with a t-test obtained a significance value of 0.045 <0.05. This indicates that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Search, Solve, Create, and Share Learning Model on Students' Critical Thinking Skills in Fifth-grade Mathematics Learning at SDN 101775 Sampali.

Abstract

Education is a fundamental foundation for national development, making it essential to establish standards that ensure the quality of education is distributed evenly. This study aims to analyze the role of the National Education Standards (SNP) in improving the quality of learning in Indonesia, covering the basic concepts, the scope of the eight standards, their implementation in educational institutions, the challenges faced, and their contribution to students’ learning quality. The method used in this study is library research by reviewing various sources such as scientific journals, books, and government regulations. The data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that SNP serves as the main reference in organizing education in a systematic, directed, and sustainable manner. The implementation of SNP begins with school self-evaluation, followed by quality-based planning and the application of student-centered learning. However, its implementation still faces several challenges, such as limited facilities and infrastructure, uneven teacher competencies, and suboptimal school management. Despite these challenges, SNP has shown a positive impact on improving the quality of learning, teacher professionalism, and educational management. Therefore, collaboration among the government, schools, and the community is needed to optimize the implementation of SNP in order to achieve equitable and high-quality education across Indonesia.

Abstract

This research is based on the demand to implement the Pancasila Student Profile in madrasas, which requires teachers not only to teach but also to oversee the development of student character. However, in class X of MAN 3 Medan, there is still a gap between conceptual understanding and the implementation of teacher responsibilities. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the various types of educator responsibilities in managing character development, as well as to identify supporting and inhibiting factors. A qualitative descriptive approach was used through observation, interviews with teachers and homeroom teachers of class X, and documentation of activities at MAN 3 Medan. The main results show that educator responsibilities are realized through program planning, routine habituation, role modeling, and daily evaluation based on observation. The most prominent factors are faith and piety, mutual cooperation, and independence; however, time constraints and lack of resources become obstacles. In short, a more integrated character management system is needed because educator responsibilities have not been managed in a structured manner.
