Abstract

Community Learning Activity Centers (PKBM) are known to be of low quality and have minimal achievement of school quality indicators. This study demonstrates the direct and indirect influence of management innovation, school ethos, and community involvement on school quality. The sampling technique was stratified cluster random sampling, with a sample size of 400 administrators spread across 15 East Java Province, Indonesia cities. The research design used a quantitative approach with a structured equation model (SEM). Data collection used questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The results showed that management innovation, school ethos, and community involvement significantly influenced school quality. Management innovation implemented by the principal and management team was proven to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the learning process and school governance. The high school ethos is reflected in teacher enthusiasm, student discipline, and a positive culture within the school environment, directly impacting educational service quality. Meanwhile, community involvement from parents, the school committee, and the surrounding environment strengthens support for school programs, both in material and moral aspects. These three variables simultaneously contribute to improving school quality, both in terms of student academic achievement, availability of facilities and infrastructure, and the school's reputation in the eyes of the community.

Abstract

In the past decade, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in school education has experienced rapid growth. This study aims to analyze trends in annual scientific publications, average citations, thematic evolution, keyword co-occurrence, and author collaboration (co-authorship) related to this topic. Data were retrieved from the Scopus database for the period 2015–2024 and analyzed using Biblioshiny and VOSviewer. The analysis reveals a significant surge in publications after 2020, with a high level of global collaboration and a dominance of contributions from developed countries such as the United States and Finland. Thematic evolution reveals a shift from technical topics such as machine learning and data science toward more applied and contextual issues, including AI literacy, ChatGPT, and secondary education. Keyword mapping identifies five key clusters, emphasizing AI integration in education systems, personalized learning technologies, and the intersection of AI with social and ethical concerns. This study offers a comprehensive overview of the scholarly landscape and highlights challenges such as unequal adoption in developing countries, algorithmic bias, and the need for inclusive, ethical education policies. The findings aim to guide researchers, educators, and policymakers in promoting AI-informed teacher training, developing relevant AI literacy curricula, and fostering international collaboration to support equitable and effective use of intelligent technologies in school education.

Abstract

The phenomenon of moral degradation among adolescents in the digital era necessitates effective intervention through structured educational institutions and family collaboration. This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of parental attention and Islamic boarding school (pesantren) education on character formation among students at Pondok Pesantren Al Manar, Semarang. A descriptive quantitative method was employed using purposive sampling, involving 50 students aged 17–18 who had resided in the pesantren for at least two years. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire (Cronbach's Alpha > 0.70), covering dimensions of parental attention (emotional, spiritual, material support, and communication), pesantren education (habituation, exemplary behavior, controlled environment, and integrated curriculum), and character formation (religious values, nationalism, integrity, independence, and mutual cooperation). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and multicollinearity tests with SPSS. The results show a strong positive correlation between pesantren education and character formation (r = 0.651; p < 0.01), and a moderate positive correlation between parental attention and character formation (r = 0.303; p < 0.05). Simultaneous analysis indicates a significant synergistic relationship between the two independent variables and character formation (r = 0.435; p < 0.01), with a tolerance value of 0.811 and VIF of 1.233, indicating no multicollinearity. In conclusion, pesantren education plays a dominant role in shaping character through a comprehensive and structured approach, while parental attention strengthens the students’ psychological and emotional foundation. The synergy between family and pesantren institutions creates an integrated and effective character education ecosystem capable of addressing adolescent moral challenges in the digital age.

Abstract

The learning media currently used is still dominated by textbooks and pictures, while the application of innovation in science learning has not been optimized. This study aims to identify the needs, development stages, feasibility level, and effectiveness of interactive multimedia based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) in increasing the interest and learning outcomes of elementary school students. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model approach. The research subjects included media experts, material experts, and 25 students of class IV-D and 25 students of class IV-C at SD IT Cahaya Bangsa. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation, questionnaires, observation, and interviews, with instruments in the form of questionnaires and evaluation questions. Data analysis was done descriptively qualitative and quantitative. The research findings show that PBL-based interactive multimedia qualifies as learning media that is suitable for use. The validation results from material experts and media experts both showed a “very feasible” category. The effectiveness test shows the difference between the pretest and posttest results, with the N-gain value in the medium category. Similarly, the increase in student interest in learning can be seen from the difference in questionnaire scores before and after learning, which also shows a moderate category in the N-gain test. Overall, PBL-based interactive multimedia is proven to be very feasible as a supporting media in science learning and is quite effective in increasing the interest and learning outcomes of grade IV elementary school students.
