Abstract

The use of social media among adolescents has surged rapidly in the digital era and has the potential to impact their mental health and reproductive health behaviors. Therefore, valid and reliable instruments are needed to assess these relationships. This study aims to examine the construct validity and reliability of five instruments: the Youth Social Media Engagement Scale (YSMES), Adolescent Anxiety Screening Inventory (AASI), Youth Self-Concept Assessment Scale (YSCAS), Adolescent Sleep Quality Index (ASQI), and Adolescent Reproductive Health Behavior Scale (ARHBS) in measuring social media engagement, anxiety, self-concept, sleep quality, and reproductive health behaviors among adolescents. A cross-sectional design with a stratified cluster sampling technique was employed, involving 208 adolescents aged 13–18 years. Construct validity was analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), while internal reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha. CFA results showed χ²/df values between 1.72 and 1.90, CFI between 0.94 and 0.96, TLI between 0.93 and 0.95, and RMSEA between 0.052 and 0.058, indicating that all instruments have good validity. Cronbach’s alpha values for YSMES = 0.89, AASI = 0.87, YSCAS = 0.88, ASQI = 0.86, and ARHBS = 0.90 confirm high internal reliability. Thus, all instruments are valid and reliable for measuring social media use, mental health, and reproductive health behaviors among adolescents. Abstract

Agriculture plays a strategic role in providing food, bioenergy, and driving agro-industrial growth and commodity exports. However, the agricultural sector in Indonesia, including in Kutalimbaru District, Deli Serdang Regency, faces serious challenges, including declining interest among the younger generation and limited adoption of modern technology. Statistics Indonesia (BPS) data (2024) shows a decline of approximately 0.24 million casual workers in the agricultural sector nationally, which is also reflected in Kutalimbaru through reduced active land and a lack of farmer regeneration. This study aims to analyze the implementation of agricultural technology and understand the extent to which the principles of Maqasid Sharia can be integrated into local agribusiness practices. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach using observation techniques, in-depth interviews with local farmers, and documentation. The results indicate that limited access to information, minimal technology-based training such as smart farming and drip irrigation, and low institutional support are the main inhibiting factors. From a Maqasid Sharia perspective, strengthening the Kutalimbaru agricultural sector through agricultural technology supports the preservation of life (hifz al-nafs), protection of property (hifz al-mal), and environmental preservation (hifz al-bi'ah). The research conclusion emphasizes the importance of collaboration between the government, extension workers, and religious institutions in increasing agricultural technology literacy based on Islamic values to achieve productive, sustainable, and competitive agriculture.

Abstract

Cash waqf in Indonesia has become a topic of discussion in the world of scientific articles, both national and international scientific articles. In addition, cash waqf has also been regulated in law but all of this does not make the literacy of Muslims in Indonesia increase related to cash waqf, this can be seen from the waqf funds collected are not optimal if look at the condition of Muslims in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative approach to content analysis by using the FGD method as a complement to this research. The results of this study, from some previous literature, show that the literacy of the Indonesian people is still low regarding cash waqf both in terms of the mechanisms and benefits of cash waqf. This happened because of the lack of outreach and strong support from the government. So the academics in this study suggested increasing training for nazhir waqf from various sides such as nazhir in every mosque in Indonesia, nazhir in the academic section, so that they can assist the government in educating cash waqf to the public. For future researchers, in order to be able to discuss policies and strong government support regarding the implementation of cash waqf in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze people's online shopping behavior and assess its impact on family economic conditions. The development of digital technology has transformed people's consumption habits, particularly in shopping activities, which are now increasingly practical through online platforms. Easy access, product diversity, and various payment options have made online shopping a dominant trend. However, this convenience also has the potential to foster consumer behavior that impacts financial stability. This study aims to analyze bold shopping patterns and their impact on household financial conditions. The approach used is descriptive qualitative library research, collecting and analyzing data from various scientific journals, articles, and related references. The study findings indicate that online shopping has diverse effects: on the one hand, it offers time and cost savings, but on the other hand, it can lead to waste and indiscipline in family budget management if not supported by adequate self-control. Therefore, an understanding of financial management and digital literacy is crucial to ensure optimal use of technology without harming family economic well-being. Furthermore, this phenomenon requires synergy between digital platform policies and consumer education to mitigate the risk of impulsive buying. This research confirms that psychological factors often outweigh objective needs in digital transactions. As a recommendation, adaptive financial management support strategies are needed for families in this era of disruption to maintain domestic economic resilience against the pressures of a modern lifestyle.

Abstract

Online gold investment through e-commerce platforms is gaining popularity, particularly among housewives. This study analyzes their interest in online gold investment through the lens of Fiqh Muamalah, focusing on housewives in Medan City. Using qualitative methods, including interviews and document analysis, the research identifies economic, social, and religious factors that influence investment interest. Economic factors include price stability, ease of access, and product variety, while social factors encompass lifestyle trends, education, and trust in e-commerce platforms. From a Fiqh Muamalah perspective, online gold investment is permissible, provided it adheres to Islamic principles, such as clear contracts, freedom of agreement, asset existence, accurate measurements, and the absence of riba (usury). The study concludes that housewives are motivated to invest in gold for saving, inflation protection, and portfolio diversification, despite awareness of price fluctuations. Social influences, government policies, and stable economic conditions further drive interest. A strong understanding of Shariah principles and the selection of secure platforms are essential for ensuring safe and compliant investments

Abstract

Background: Indonesia has achieved first place in the global modest fashion sector with halal fashion consumption projected to reach USD 330.5 billion by 2025. However, there is a gap between the size of the market potential and consumer purchasing behavior, especially among urban Muslim millennials and Generation Z, who have unique characteristics and preferences in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the halal fashion purchase decision model by integrating product quality and modern digital technology factors among urban Muslim millennial and Generation Z consumers in Indonesia Method: This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory design through the Partial Least Squares (PLS)-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. Data were collected from 300 urban Muslim millennial and Generation Z respondents using purposive sampling technique. The measurement instrument used a Likert scale questionnaire to measure product quality, modern digital technology, and halal fashion purchase decisions. Results: The results show that the structural model developed has strong predictive power with an R-Square value of 0.626, meaning that 62.6% of the variation in halal fashion purchase decisions can be explained by product quality and modern digital technology variables. Modern digital technology emerged as the dominant factor most significantly influencing halal fashion purchase decisions with a t-statistic value of 8.512 and p-value 0.000, categorized as having a strong influence with f-square value of 0.381. Meanwhile, product quality has a significant but relatively weak influence with t-statistic 3.246, p-value 0.001, and f-square value of 0.074. Conclusion: The findings indicate a paradigm shift in urban Muslim consumer priorities from traditional product quality orientation toward digital accessibility and experience. This research contributes theoretically to the development of consumer behavior theory in the context of Islamic economics by integrating Theory of Planned Behavior from an Islamic perspective and Maqashid Syariah theory.

Abstract

Poverty is a multidimensional problem that remains a major development challenge in Central Tapanuli Regency. Growth in Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), increased realization of Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) and Domestic Direct Investment (PMDN), and zakat collection should be important instruments in reducing poverty rates. However, data from 2019–2023 shows a discrepancy, where the growth in these macroeconomic and social indicators is not accompanied by a decrease in the number of poor people. This study aims to analyze the influence of zakat, GRDP, PMA, and PMDN on poverty levels in Central Tapanuli Regency. The research method used is qualitative descriptive analysis with secondary data from BPS, BAZNAS, and BKPM as well as interviews with relevant parties. The results show that zakat does contribute to alleviating the burden on mustahik, but its role is still limited because the majority of distribution is consumptive. GRDP increased from Rp9.95 trillion in 2019 to Rp13.67 trillion in 2023, but the resulting economic growth is not yet inclusive. Foreign direct investment (FDI) tends to be oriented towards large capital with limited labor absorption, while domestic direct investment (PMDN) is closer to local needs but still less than optimal in poverty alleviation. Overall, the increase in zakat, GRDP, FDI, and PMDN has not been able to reduce the poverty rate, which actually increased from 376,474 people in 2019 to 489,760 people in 2023. Thus, a more inclusive development strategy, optimization of productive zakat, and investment policies that favor labor-intensive sectors and MSMEs are needed so that economic growth truly impacts poverty reduction.

Abstract

Millet is a local cereal rich in starch and dietary fiber, while black soybeans are known as a source of vegetable protein with high nutritional value. Utilization of these two ingredients in the form of flakes is expected to produce cereal products with good physical characteristics and balanced nutritional quality. This study aims to examine the effect of millet flour and black soybean flour formulations on the chemical, physical, and sensory quality of flakes, and to determine the best formulation that meets the requirements of the Indonesian National Standard for cereal milk (SNI No. 01-4270-1996). The study was arranged using a one-factor Randomized Complete Block Design (RAKL) with six treatment levels and four replications, namely the ratio of millet flour and black soybean flour: 100%:0% (P0), 90%:10% (P1), 80%:20% (P2), 70%:30% (P3), 60%:40% (P4), and 50%:50% (P5). The data were tested for homogeneity using the Bartlett test and Tukey's addition test, then analyzed for variance and further Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at 5% level. Formulation P1 (90% millet flour: 10% black soybean flour) produced the best quality flakes with a water content of 4.50%, ash content of 3.20%, hardness value of 20.95 N, and water absorption of 51.00%, texture score of 3.65 (like), color 4.00 (like), aroma 3.50 (somewhat like), taste 3.69 (like), and overall acceptance 3.95 (like). The best treatment flakes contained 9.02% protein, 7.73% fat, 75.55% carbohydrate, and 25.21% crude fiber.
