Abstract

Islamic Educational Institutions (LPI) in Indonesia play a strategic role in shaping a generation of faithful, knowledgeable, and virtuous Muslims. However, in the era of globalization and digitalization, LPI faces multidimensional challenges such as human resource quality, leadership issues, and adaptation to technological advances. This study aims to analyze the implementation of transformational leadership in the context of Islamic education as a strategy to drive sustainable institutional transformation. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative analysis of the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that transformational leadership, based on Islamic values such as uswatun hasanah and fastabiqul khairat, plays a significant role in improving academic quality, building Islamic character, and strengthening institutional adaptation to technology and globalization. Effective leadership is characterized by four main dimensions: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual attention. Furthermore, the transformation of leadership intelligence—including intellectual, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and digital intelligence—is key to strengthening LPI's competitiveness in the era of disruption. The research findings confirm that the success of the transformation of Islamic educational institutions is largely determined by a leadership mindset that is oriented towards responsibility, service, and trust, rather than power and honor.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of soft power of school principals through emotional intelligence in resolving internal school conflicts. This issue is important to examine because interpersonal conflicts in schools often disrupt the work and learning climate, while authoritarian approaches are no longer relevant in the era of humanistic leadership. The purpose of this study is to describe the forms of emotional strategies of school principals and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors of soft power effectiveness. This study employs a qualitative approach using case study methodology, with data collection techniques including participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, analyzed through the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results indicate that the primary strategies employed by school principals include empathy, dialogic communication, moral exemplary behavior, collective participation, and emotional recognition. Supporting factors include integrity, experience, collective support, and an inclusive organizational culture, while barriers include rigid bureaucracy, lack of emotional training, and low self-reflection. The conclusion of this study indicates that soft power based on emotional intelligence is an effective and strategic approach in building harmony and resolving conflicts in the school environment. These findings contribute to enriching transformative and humanistic leadership practices in the field of education.

Abstract

In the era of digital transformation, the integration of technology into modern Islamic education is crucial, as the sociological dynamics of communication in Indonesian madrasas undergo a fundamental shift from conventional patterns to digital-based interactions. This study aims to evaluate the impact of digital learning on the dynamics of social communication in madrasa environments and identify sociological factors that influence the effectiveness of such technology integration. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method combined with a meta-analysis approach was conducted on 456 scientific articles sourced from the Scopus database between 2008 and 2026. Of these, 35 final articles were selected based on inclusion criteria for effect size analysis. Data analysis was conducted using Random Effects Model estimation—given the heterogeneity between studies (I^2 > 50%)—and the Cochrane Q test using JASP v.0.18 software. The results showed a significant positive impact and were in the high category (d = 0.82) on the effectiveness of social communication and student participation in madrasas. Visualization through a funnel plot showed a symmetrical data distribution, indicating low publication bias in the analyzed literature. These findings also revealed that moderating variables, such as teacher digital competence and technological infrastructure support, are key determinants in the successful adoption of digital learning. The implications of this study emphasize the need for reconstruction of the Islamic education curriculum that aligns the values of Islamic moderation (Wasathiyah) with digital communication skills to strengthen the resilience of madrasa communities in the digital era. Specifically for Islamic basic education, collaboration with parents is needed in digital security.
