Abstract

Bebidas Village, Wanasaba District, East Lombok Regency has the potential for abundant natural products in the form of avocados, but its use is still limited to sales in raw form so that the added value obtained by the community is relatively low. One of the waste that has not been optimally utilized is avocado seeds, even though this part contains bioactive compounds that have the potential to be developed into herbal products. This activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of the community in processing avocado seed waste into herbal tea products with economic value through a community empowerment approach. The implementation method includes problem identification, socialization, appropriate technology-based processing training, and assistance in the production process and product diversification with original, honey, and lemon flavor variants. The targets of the activity are PKK groups, youth, MSME actors, and the people of Bebidas Village. The results of the activity show an increase in public understanding of the benefits of avocado seeds, technical capabilities in the post-harvest processing process, and the emergence of interest in developing products as a household business. This activity contributes to reducing organic waste, increasing the added value of local commodities, and strengthening the village economy based on the potential of natural resources.

Abstract

The use of mathematics learning media kits is still rarely used in learning activities. The lack of training experienced by teachers on how to use them prevents them from utilizing the available facilities. This lack of use of mathematics learning media kits also results in less enjoyable mathematics learning in the classroom and less than satisfactory results. The purpose of this community service activity was to conduct training on the use of mathematics learning media kits at SDN 4 Bebidas. The methods used in this community service activity included material delivery, question and answer sessions, training, and hands-on practice using the mathematics learning media kits. This community service activity consisted of several stages: socialization, preparation, implementation, and reflection. Based on the community service activities, teachers at partner schools observed that the use of media made students more active and communicative, resulting in better results. Teachers at partner schools also felt that this Community Service Program (PKM) indirectly strengthened collaboration and communication among teachers to improve the quality of mathematics learning.

Abstract

The low ability of students in using uppercase and lowercase letters in Indonesian language learning remains a problem in elementary schools. This condition is influenced by conventional learning methods, causing students to be less active and not fully understand spelling concepts meaningfully. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Deep Learning approach on the Indonesian language learning outcomes of second-grade students at SDN 15 Cakranegara on the topic of uppercase and lowercase letter usage. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental research method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population consisted of all second-grade students of SDN 15 Cakranegara in the 2025/2026 academic year, with a sample of 67 students, including class II A as the experimental group and class II B as the control group, selected using saturated sampling technique. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data collection techniques included pretests, posttests, and observations. Data analysis was conducted using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, Levene’s Test for homogeneity, Independent Sample t-Test for hypothesis testing, and N-Gain test. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. The average posttest score of the experimental class was 88.12, which was higher than the control class score of 66.85. The N-Gain score of the experimental class was 73.96 (moderately effective), while the control class obtained 25.90 (ineffective). Therefore, the Deep Learning approach had a positive effect on students’ Indonesian language learning outcomes.

Abstract

Narrative text writing skills represent essential language competencies that primary school students must possess. However, observations conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurussalam Kembang Sri revealed that a portion of students still encounter difficulties in developing ideas, structuring story plots, and utilizing capital letters and punctuation in accordance with Indonesian language conventions. This study aims to describe the narrative text writing skills of fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurussalam Kembang Sri and to identify the factors influencing these skills. This study employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. The research subjects consisted of 16 fifth-grade students and their homeroom teacher. Data were collected through narrative text writing tests, interviews, and documentation. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results demonstrated that the students' narrative text writing skills fell into the moderate category, with an average score of 55.8. The aspects of idea development (68.75%) and story plot (65.63%) were classified in the good category, whereas other aspects were in the moderate category. The lowest percentages were found in the use of capital letters (45.31%) and punctuation (43.75%). Factors influencing writing skills include internal factors, such as low learning motivation, reading interest, self-confidence, and a tendency to fatigue easily while writing, as well as external factors, including excessive gadget use and a lack of consistent writing habits. Consequently, students' narrative text writing skills still require improvement through enhanced motivation, reading interest, and more intensive writing instruction.
